Just a little reminder that this blog is not a place of hate. Radical feminism, transphobia, homophobia and all of the many related topics have no place here.
If you are unsure of your views on these topics but have been told by your community that these are the 'right' opinions to have: Really think about if this is how you want to spend your precious time on this planet we live on. Is this what fulfils you? What brings you true peace and happiness? Do you truly want to continue living like this? If you find that you do not, I invite you to look at the mushrooms and mosses with me. If you decide that it is, however, I kindly ask you to unfollow me and practice some soul searching. Hate is no healthy or sustainable base for a life, especially when it's directed at already marginalised minorities. May you find peace within yourself.

I found a cute little pot for a little cactus. Originally it was sitting on the lid of a jar and it was a time and a half to try and water.

okay this is kinda gonna be a long post bc I want to share a lil update and the backstory of this plant
first off, thank all y'all who said just stick it in soil! I accidentally dropped it today (rip) and the new roots look great! I think it'll be fine bc honestly it's been through worse than being dropped.
Now for the backstory.
I bought this plant when I was about 12 (so ten years ago) and I was VERY into succulents and cacti. I put together a little succulent garden with this one and since I didn't know much about plants, most of them died off after about three months. I felt super discouraged and abandoned this guy and the thimble cactus that had survived with it for about 6 years, I just left this cactus outside, didn't water it, didn't pay any attention to it, and waited for it to die. When I moved out of my childhood home, my grandmother offered to care for it. Under her care, it grew a little, but now much. During my first year of college, about 7 years after I had bought it and when I just started my plant obsession, I asked her if I could have it back. She gave it to me willingly and I promptly put it in a corner of my room, on a bookshelf where it got absolutely no light, but somehow managed to stay alive. About a year ago, I decided I wanted to love this plant like I did my others. I potted it up (it had just been in a plastic cup before), gave it sunlight, and all the sudden it started putting out growth like crazy. I was so upset when it rotted in the post above, but im so thankful for y'all's help!
So this is by far my oldest plant, and I think it really just goes to show how a little love can go a long way when caring for plants. Also maybe it would help if I l stopped dropping it!

I never took care of a plant so I got a new one I’m going to call it Ivy. I just searched for some information and it’s interesting. Might need someone from the plant side of tumblr!

I’m a morning person at heart but that doesn’t mean that everyone else around me is too.
This morning as I was roaming about and I decided to finally try the sphagnum moss propagation technique. I have a few “wet sticks” which are not quite developing in water so I am thinking of shoving them into a box to exist together.
So far I have two monstera adansonii sticks in there and a struggling mimosa pudica (sensitive plant). Later in the evening I am hoping to obtain the wet sticks of a golden pothos to add to the little box.
I’m not 100% certain how this experiment will go for me. Generally it seems that it is best done with a larger plastic container, but this is what I presently have. If it starts working out well I will upgrade them to a slightly larger box :)
