How often do you think Phainon dreams and its always one of the previous thirty million cycles of his companions being doomed again again and again

But he always wakes up thinking its a mere nightmare because yet again he goes

Oh😭😭in one of the cycles, Hyacine is breaking down trying to save and heal as many people despite the chaos around her

Sure she was terrified, with the walls she grew up with simply crumbling around her but oh she still tried, tried to save people while she can

And Anaxa trying to protect her, dying in the process of doing so

Yes, you can argue that "didnt show that he died in that scene specifically because the screenshot that showed him bleeding is in a different setting" But honestly, Anaxa with the coreflame only managed to stun the flame reaver at best, he is not 1v1-ing the flame reaver without a coreflame

So even if they didnt show that he died protecting her, it honestly wouldnt be a baseless conclusion considering they're always doomed in every timeline

“is this an interrogation?”

the professor's lone eye leaves your wrist and fixes on your face. "is that what you think this is?" is his immediate reply.

you clench your fist and feel anaxa's grip on your wrist loosen. you relax, not wanting to give him the wrong impression. "answering my question with a question makes it seem that way," you say.

he doesn't dignify that with a response, instead shifting his focus. "you're far more calm than i thought you'd be." anaxa begins to say something else, but in an instant, his gaze drops back to where his fingers rest upon your pulse point. "i stand corrected."

you clear your throat, realizing that he'd felt the way your heart skipped a beat. you don't know why you agreed to let him do this. ever the mystery, professor anaxagoras had decided to pause your after-hours debate to ask for your hand. in an effort to dispel your nerves, you cracked a joke about him proposing to you. his dry response made your awkward laughter die in your throat before you silently complied.

you'd assumed he was trying to test something, although you weren't quite sure what it was he was testing. it didn't help that he was tight-lipped about his motivations, either; when asked, anaxa had simply brushed his thumb over your wrist to silence you. (you're not quite sure why that worked.)

he appears to be in a trance as his gaze never leaves your wrist. it's not as though he can see your pulse — not with his fingers covering the spot, anyhow — yet he remains silent, completely fixated on you and you alone. you do your best not to overthink it, attributing his fascination with your pulse to his research on the soul. but even you know that the body and the soul, though closely intertwined, are not one and the same. so what is it that has anaxa so captivated? is it the very basis of life itself? did hyacine teach him some sort of new medical procedure that he's testing out on you?

or perhaps it's you that he finds captivating, your mind unhelpfully supplies. you squeeze your eyes shut and try to banish the thought, but—

"you seem nervous." anaxa's voice is low as he addresses you. was his voice always that deep? "even now, your heart rate is rising. what could you possibly be so worried about?"

is he worried about you? you do your best to smother the embers of delusion. "why would you assume that i'm worried about something?" you retort.

you can hear anaxa shifting in his seat across from you. "your eyes are closed," he points out, "so i'd imagine there's plenty of things on your mind." when you open your eyes, you swear you can see a flicker of amusement in his eye. "that wasn't an invitation for you to open them," he says softly.

once again, you clench your fist. this time, you can feel his grip on you tighten, as though he anticipated you pulling away from him. not that you would, of course.

Anaxa with the concept of "I'm a mosaic of everyone i've ever loved" Is gut wrenching, particularly his sister and his mentor

For a person so logical and factual, he's fueled alot by love, till the point where it burns him

His love from his sister has allowed his flame to continue burning no matter how much others have tried to extinguish it by giving him a chance, encouraging his interests and even using some of her (already little) wage to buy him things that he wants

And in turn

His love for his sister allowed him to break through what was known as a limit of the world and allowed him to see a bigger picture at the cost of his eye

His mentor, Empedocles, worries for him, he wants Anaxa to move on and live for himself, and not to harm himself in the process of going down the path Anaxa wishes to choose, but at the same time Empedocles understands Anaxa's convictions enough that he knows Anaxa wouldn't listen, so it's best if he tried to help him instead ("I will spare no efforts fighting for the rights you deserve ")

And in turn

Anaxa cares alot about his students (one example are those unsent letters he has for Phainon and Castorice), he encourages all his students to think outside the box and be open minded, consistently helping them through it one of the ways is by insisting on students to debate with him. He wants them to be even better than him, and he helps them even though the cost is his own being ("Step over my body and take the torch from my hands ")

Although he's an entirely different person compared to them, they still helped shaped him (to a certain degree) to be who he is at present time

Pieces of the people he has ever loved exists in him.

I miss Anaxa and Cerces dynamic so much😭

Nothing is funnier than Anaxa heaving his lungs out going up a mountain and then immediately we get a scene of Cerces heaving HER lungs out, they're so silly, i miss them dearly😭😭

The fact that not everyone can see her either makes the whole scenario even sillier where in those 15 days SURELY someone has questioned why he was talking to thin air

"Professor, who are you talking to?"

"... Don't worry about it."

She means alot to him, considering he even has a voice line talking about her when you open treasure

So in a way, the Blasphemer found comfort in a God, not as a worshipper, but as companions
