my first painting on clip studio paint! my brother gave me his old surface go which has now been repurposed as my drawing tablet. i'm very excited to be making art again and to keep improving as time goes on. i certainly need to learn more about to program, but i can't wait to be able to use all the tools. i'm especially looking forward to trying my hand out in animation.

i'm a mess when i make traditional art, so this was certainly more convienant as i only had two physical tools. can't really make a mess with a tablet and stylus/pen.

i got the $50 version of csp and i think its more than worth it. take the leap if you were on the fence.

yes but brave new world also wanted you to feel bad for the ppl in charge, enough so to distract you from their wrongdoings which is not so great but i’m not surprised that disney would want you to sympathize with ross/ us govt.

love sam though i’m glad he’s getting his time in the sun. i hope we see more of him as a front runner in the coming years of the mcu.

captain america: the first avenger is about how nazis fucking suck and we need to band together to stop them.

captain america: the winter soldier is about how fascists can be anywhere, and we have to stop them, even if it means going against what feels like the whole world.

i got colors live for my switch to see if i would like digital art as a medium and tbh it actually kinda feels a little freeing ?? im very hard on myself when i make art and every little mistake usually causes me to crash out but i haven’t gotten mad or felt the need to get rid of what ive drawn. like im actually being really mature and healthy about it which is kinda confusing but anyways! im excited to keep learning about digital art and to see if this excitement is enough to get me out of hiatus and start actively drawing again (which i kinda really need to do bc just like riding a bike if you don’t do it for a couple years your skills get rusty).

so colors live i recommend if you don’t want to fully commit to a program on a tablet and already have a switch. it gets the job done. it’s a little annoying bc the stylus is wired and the switch is kinda oddly shaped for handling but it’s workable. i’m still learning what it can and can’t do. ive only had the game for two days, so i can’t say if ill stick with it but if i do then i cant wait to see what else i’ll draw and where this medium takes me.

edit: it froze and then deleted a drawing i had already saved my progress on multiple times and this pissed me off to the extent of buying clip studio paint, so. take that as a potential warning. also i couldn't find a way to draw straight lines and that bothered me. there might have been a way and i just couldn't find it, but i was slighted once and i get angry very easily and so i will be using csp from now on.

i’ve been in a wheelchair full time for almost two years now. it’s one of the standard drive ones because i suddenly lost the ability to walk and doctors refused to figure out why for the longest time. the goal was to get walking again and apparently having a wheelchair that would make my life easier would get in the way of that (???). so i still don’t have a wheelchair that fits my needs. thank you u.s. healthcare system.

but anyways something big has been happening - my leg that was completely useless, is coming back. my foot drop is barely noticeable and my reflexes below the knee came back. i can wiggle my toes and feel every touch. there was a time when i thought i would never feel anything again. and now? there’s hope!! i just got forearm crutches and i’m learning to use them. they make me so hopeful for the future. i can’t walk yet and i probably won’t ever be able to walk “normal” ever again, but man its so good to be able to do something new. to progress in some way whether it be physically or even just mentally. one more hurdle i’ve been able to overcome. life’s so exciting when you get new eyes to look through.

i’m still working to get that custom wheelchair though. fuck them for making it a long and painful process. if someone comes in and needs a wheelchair, then find a way to get them a fucking wheelchair?!

the forearm crutches are the walk easy anatomic grip model 495 in case anyone was wondering (they’ve got quite a selection of colors too so that’s fun).
