A woman with supernatural Powers

As humans we all have weaknesses. We cry, We fall, and sometimes we lose and some of us are thinking about ending their own lives. But this woman that I know she been trough it all but she’s still here with me. She still smiling and laughing even she has all the problems in the world she still provide the needs of her only son.

Raising a child for father and a mother is a big responsibility but raising it alone comes with bigger challenges. She raise her son alone but even if she’s a single parent her son never felt having a incomplete family because she do it all from working 9 hours a day to bringing her son to the world bathe him, feed him, teach him about lesson in this life, she’s never complain about it even if she’s mentally and physically tired.

Even if life brings her down she always get up stronger. There are times that she can’t pay the bills and has a lot of loans she always make a way to pay it and for her son that is a superpower because even her son doesn’t know how to help her financially but she still trust the process because she knows that god will always got their backs.

and she is mom, Girlie.

As kid playing video games is my hobby but I never got addicted to it. Its fun because for me its my ultimate escape to reality. Playing games like NBA 2k My career makes me feel like I am the one playing against my favorite NBA players like Derrick rose and Giannis Antetokounmpo. 

Playing video games online or offline had a big impact on the person that I am today, It helps me to be better at decision making, thinking at critical moments, forget my problems just for a moment, and helps me to build relationship with my friends that will last forever. Playing games helps me to be more competetive and hungry about winning and to be successful in life.

Playing video games is not a problem, The problem is when a person doesn’t do his responsibility at school works or at their house maybe even his relationship with other people and his reason by not doing it is playing online games.

I love games especially all the things that I have comes from my parents and i promise myself to use them properly and take care of them.

A ROSE THAT GREW FROM A CONCRETE

“If you don’t dare to struggle you don’t dare to win” - Words from 2010-2011 NBA most valuable player Derrick Martell Rose.

Derrick Rose was born and raise in Englewood, Chicago. Illinois, USA. Englewood is known for its illegal selling of drugs, gangs, and gun violence. Derrick with his mothers and three brothers struggle to live at that neighborhood but they saw a potential in him and that is playing basketball.

At a young age derrick was very passionate about basketball he was a phenom. People from others neighborhoods come to the basketball park of Englewood just to watch derrick rose play. Derrick was to fast and explosive and people make bets when he play.

His three brothers protected him to not be distracted by the violence surrounding him like selling drugs and doing illegal gambling because they are worried that derrick won’t be able to see his full potential just because of the illegal activities.

 In 2003 Derrick played for Simeon high-school in Chicago and quickly catapulted to one of the best high-school basketball players in the country. He was so athletic and his basketball IQ was NBA ready.

At that time derrick is making noises all around the country because of his talent. He wanted to join the NBA draft at high-school but the National Basketball Association change the rule that High-school prospect’s are not allowed to declare for the NBA draft because they are too young and need to attend a particular college university even for just a year.

A lot of major colleges in America tried to recruit derrick because of his potential, eventually he chose the college of Memphis under coach john Calipari. Rose was great and led the Memphis tigers to the National championship against the university of Kansas. Unluckily they fall against the Jayhawks but rose knew it was not the end of his basketball career, He was just getting started.

Derrick declared for the 2008 NBA draft and selected as a number 1 pick by his hometown team the CHICAGO BULLS. Being a number 1 pick means that you are the best player in the class of 2008 NBA draft. Rose began his NBA career as a starting point guard for the bulls he was selected as a rookie of the year and fought against the super team at the time which was the Boston Celtics lead by 4 hall of famers Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo, Paul pierce and, Ray Allen but the bulls lost that first round series to the Celtics but that series was the way of Derrick rose to be a globally known NBA rising superstar because it took 7 games for the veteran team of future hall of famers to beat a rookie superstar and the bulls.

In his third year Derrick won the NBA most valuable player award. He was youngest NBA MVP in the history of the league. Imagine winning the award against the prime years of Kobe and Lebron and he was just 22 years old!! Let that sink in!!

But a tragedy happen, playing in his 4th year as a NBA player and the reigning MVP. He injured hi torn his ACL against the the PHILADELPHIA 76ers of the first round of the playoffs a injury that can end a a season. A lot of people was questioning the coach at that time because the bulls were up by a bunch of points and 2 mins were left on the clock and derrick is not supposedly playing.

The next year was redemption year for rose but in his first 10 games he injured his right knee and it was a season ending injury again for rose. after that derrick was not the same player he put some decent numbers in his previous years but not the same athletic and explosive point guard.

But derrick rose never give up until now after major injuries with 2 career ending injuries derrick is still playing in the NBA for the New York Knicks. He receive MVP votes and playing great for his current team.

Rose is now a global icon and help a lot of kids to have a pair of shoes of his own signature shoe line of Addidas. He may be not the basketball players that we knew but he is the true definition of never giving up.

After a basketball gold medal a rookie of the year a MVP award and countless other accolades Derrick's accomplishments will never be erased and soon he will be a hall of famer.

Helmets and pedals on!

Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine that these two small wheels would carry me to such lovely destinations.

I never imagined that I could push myself to achieve heights that I could never have imagined.

I never saw myself riding a bicycle a year ago. Before the pandemic, I attended New Era University. I play basketball as a point guard for the Neu Hunters as a reserve for the IS team, and I've never been a fan of riding.

I was bored staying in the house for almost 6 months because of the lockdown in August of 2020, and I couldn't even play basketball because all of the basketball courts were closed. I saw a lot of my friends and teammates who were trying different kinds of alternatives to stay in shape, and biking is one of the best workouts to stay in shape.

It was difficult at first; I could barely get home by cycling from our house to Manila Bay, a mere 24 kilometers away.

 This is my picture from that day. I was overjoyed because I never imagined I'd get that far. That was my first ride on my new bicycle, which I had purchased only a week before. So, as I was riding back home that day, a delivery truck accidentally hit my front tire, and it was a mess to go home with only one tire and it was impossible to go home in that kind of situation, However, the driver was polite and we go to a nearby bicycle shop and paid for everything just so I could get home safely .It sucks that my first day of riding I got into an accident haha, but it was a good experience and it reminds me to be careful and alert. 

I'm getting better at cycling as time goes on, but I don't have any plans to go pro just yet.

This was my first out of town ride. It was not that far, but it was hard to get there because of the steep mountains that we passed by. It was an awesome experience because of the cold water and fresh air and I was able to escape the boredom of our house.

I keep improving and training on the steep roads of the timberland heights, allowing me to get better and reach farther places. I improved in three months and was able to travel to places I never imagined possible on a bike.

Daranak Falls, in the Rizal province, was the location for this photograph. just a 2 hour or shorter ride to go there but we made it in four hours because some of our friends got lost so we to wait for them hahahaha.

I really enjoyed cycling. It was a fantastic feeling that taught me a lot about life that I can't give up. I have to move forward to reach my destination, achieve my dreams. I can't just give up because I'm tired. I have to keep moving forward. The heat of the sun is not nice. The cold of the rain is not nice. The exhaustion from fatigue was unpleasant, but I was able to complete every ride.

And now I'm looking forward to having another experience like this. Biking helps me to become more competitive and determined in life. That's why I will continue this hobby to reach more distant and wonderful places.
