What could they possibly be looking at

Quick doodle of my slugsona (The Kaiju) and some random ass lizard (the first lizard i tamed was blue… i forgot its name)

…. Can you tell i gave up after a bit? Anyway I was thinking about inv’s world and why some of the creatures have gimmicks, then assigned them karma symbols. I think it’d be fun if they all had saint’s “attunement” to their specific symbol, giving each the weird ability. I’m gonna start rambling about under the cut!

Train lizards as karma 1 hopefully makes sense on its own. They’re fast and deadly, going out of their way to kill anything edible. I also think they could represent the blindness of rage, barreling towards prey without thinking (and sometimes getting sidestepped) . Abilities gained Karma 1 attunement are unusual speed and their strong bite

You’ll NEVER guess who karma 2 is!! It’s Inv!! This is obvious enough as well. Inv’s alignment with Karma 2 means that they’re very strong-willed, meaning whatever they sought after at the time (survival, answers, a mate…) they’ll keep going after it. Of course, this is short-term, as lust usually is, and they’ll soon set their eyes on something new (this is usually unreachable or a nonsensical goal). The egg is the Karma 2 ability. (It being an egg should be self-explanatory, right?).

Yeeks?! For companionship?! How absurd! Obviously scavengers are the prime example of companionship and community!! (They are, but yeeks have a gimmick so they get priority). Yeeks act as a companion through chimney canopy. Can’t jump? Yeek! Need food? Yeek!! They also gather in groups for no real reason other than to be in groups. The karma 3 ability is whatever happens to make those yeeks appear in CC

Karma 4 rot (god i hate the rot). Daddy long legs, in inv’s world, takes on the appearance of a mother long legs, but act the same. The whole point of the rot is to consume everything they possibly can. Yeah that’s it rot doesn’t get anything special because i HATE THE ROT.

A snail for Karma 5 also seems like another inane decision. hear me out!! Snail shells are a sign of protection, and their explosions are a last ditch effort to survive or protect others from whatever they see as a threat (so like everything). It’s like the ascension ability, but it kills instead of ascends because no max karma
