I have moved!
tumblr deleted my acc for a lil while out of nowhere :(
so I went ahead and just made a new one, with a lot of fun sideblogs! if you want to stick with me, here are the links:
- for writerblr (my main, for all effects & porpuses except following someone): nana-writes - for fandom/misc. side blog: nana-fangirls  - for my studyblr sideblog: nana-studyblr
if I follow you back it will be from my main, but that blog is empty so don’t worry about it. I only use side blogs anymore.

Watching the special features for Detective Pikachu actually brings to light how impressive this movie is. It’s shot on film rather than digitally, most of the sets are practical, and Justice Smith had to effectively act with nothing other than Ryan Reynolds talking to him through an ear piece throughout most of the movie, he didn’t even have the ball on a stick that other actors have because it would limit the types of shots they could make. They actually built all of the major sets,
Like, they put a lot of effort into making a live action, neo noir, Pokemon movie and it honestly worked out for the better. The crew that Legendary Films put together here is really dedicated to their craft and had a legitimate passion for this movie, which is extremely fresh to see.

I was eating dinner with my mom and when she went to pay I noticed a “Hooters” frequent diner card or whatever in her wallet. I asked her WTF, and she explained that a friend of hers got a coupon for the grand opening and so a group of them went for lunch just to try it out. This is a group that consists of women from their 50s into their 80s. Apparently the food decent but the service was amazing, and the servers were “all such wonderful girls, so sweet! Said it was nice to take a break from all the gross men they had to deal with.” So they decided to come back. Now they go once a week at least, and the Hooters waitresses fight each other for who gets to serve them. Anyhow I thought it was cute.

john mulaney talking about how much he loves his wife and roasting other male comedians that just talk shit on their wives is why The Gays like him so much because he’s what Straight Culture should be

When people find out that my dog is afraid of men: Oh, the poor thing must have been traumatized when she was younger! Poor baby, I just want to hold and comfort her and let her know she’s safe.
When people find out that I, an adult human woman, am afraid of men: Um, not *all* men, sweetie. You can’t go your whole life being afraid. Get over it.
When my dog was allowed to get a hysterectomy: She doesn’t need to have puppies to have a happy, healthy like with her adoptive family.
When I, an adult human woman, want to get a hysterectomy: But having children will make you happy! You might change your mind!

Went to the Aboriginal artifact exhibit in Chicago. And it’s interesting. How many blankets and masks and totem poles say ‘unknown source’, because every five seconds my mom would stop and point to something and say. “Pauline’s grandmother made that,” or, “That belongs to Mike’s family, I should call him” because. It’s all stolen

Just remembering the time I got in trouble at my old school for some of the Patricia Polacco books I shared with my second graders
And I just want to a) recommend all her books and b) tell you about two specific ones

Mrs. Katz and Tush tells the story of a friendship between an elderly Jewish woman and a young Black boy. It’s a book about Black/Jewish solidarity and found family

The Keeping Quilt is about a quilt that is handed down through the generations in a Jewish family, where it is used as a Shabbat table cloth, a Brit blanket, and a Chuppah. We see the family change and which traditions change over the years. (This is a true story about the authirs life and actually features a drawing of her daughters lesbian wedding under the same chuppah, which was very meaningful to me)
