In July, the bird flu spread from dairies in Colorado to poultry farms. To contain it, two poultry operations employed about 650 temporary workers Spanish-speaking immigrants as young as 15 — to cull flocks. Inside hot barns, they caught infected birds, gassed them with carbon dioxide, and disposed of the carcasses. Many did the hazardous job without goggles, face masks, and gloves. By the time Colorado’s health department asked if workers felt sick, five women and four men had been infected. They all had red, swollen eyes — conjunctivitis — and several had such symptoms as fevers, body aches, and nausea. State health departments posted online notices offering farms protective gear, but dairy workers in several states told KFF Health News that they had none. They also hadn’t heard about the bird flu, never mind tests for it. [...] Farmworker advocates also pressed the CDC for money to offset workers’ financial concerns about testing, including paying for medical care, sick leave, and the risk of being fired. This amounted to an offer of $75 each. “Outreach is clearly not a huge priority,” Boggess said. “I hear over and over from workers, ‘The cows are more valuable than us.’”

Samah (@/samah-2) is a mum to a newborn little boy, a two year old little girl, and their big sister who's only 9. Living in a tent has been miserable for the whole family: boiling and eaten alive by insects in summer, freezing and soaked to the bone in winter. It provides no protection from the relentless IOF bombing either: they all survived the IOF's attack on Mawasi just over a week ago, left rattled by how close it was but there's nowhere to escape to. On top of it, basic supplies like food are unimaginably difficult to get. Aid is still not getting in & famine has spread south too.
The situation in Gaza is probably the worst its been in the entire 14 months of this genocide. The conversations of a potential ceasefire don't really mean anything: the immediate threat of death remains.
Despite this, Samah's campaign has recently started slowing down badly; it'll make chances of evacuation slim, but the more immediate concern is starvation. Her original account (@samah-h) got shadowbanned, limiting her ability to campaign right now too.
Please help out however you can!

Quds News Network:
Al Jazeera journalist Hossam Shabat posted on Twitter:
“I am writing to you as the final appeal and this message is to the world from the north of the Gaza Strip:
Northern Gaza is being annihilated and Kamal Adwan Hospital is subjected to intense bombardment and shelling, as well as patients and medical staff being starved.
All the necessities of life have been damaged by the Israeli occupation, so there is no food, no water, no ambulance services, or civil defense, and the bombing has been going on for about 80 days. What is the world waiting for?”

Fundraisers for Gaza keep needing money, and it's pretty horrifying how little families are getting for their time spent asking for donations. With the famine as it is, and the opening of the Rafah crossing still just a rumor, these people need donations.
Sami's campaign in particular is struggling to gain traction. This is a big family, with a lot of children and old parents, currently sitting at under 1/10th of its $30,000 goal. No matter why that might be the case, the thing that matters is that we have a chance to help. This family lives in a tent with no income, and we can all help give them a chance to escape.
This campaign is vetted as number 21 on the Gazavetters list

Maha @mahafamily1 and her family have been repeatedly displaced after their home was destroyed. Then last week, their new tent was destroyed by another IOF attack. Maha was able to find an image of their tent after the bombing. This is all that remains: a crater and rubble.
The cost of the tent is $2000 USD. Currently, their campaign is at €12,724 (about $13,188), which means their new temporary goal is €14,724 (about $15,264)
This does NOT include the $500 weekly treatments for Joan. We have posted here about Maha’s daughter, 6-year-old Joan Al-Habil, and her medical issues.
Please help Maha’s family get a new tent so they are protected from the elements! Exposure to cold weather and an inability to rest is making little Joan’s medical condition worse!!
Progress: $0/$2,000 USD (about €1929)
