Some people delete their internet history to hide that they’re watching porn. I delete mine so that people don’t know that I looked up my weird symptoms like anal mucus...

What are some foods that you can eat? Is gastroparesis the chronic illness you have? How was your China trip?
Yes, Gastroparesis is my chronic condition, but I also have food sensitivities in general! I can eat nuts, beans, veggies, and fruit!

“Things could be worse” statements can especially go fuck themselves
Bad things to say to spoonies
These come from personal experience. They are things people say to chronically ill people that are either an attempt to make them feel better, solve their problem, or just to be rude. Feel free to add your own:
“Your life is an inspiration to me!”
“I couldn’t live a day as you”
“Yeah, I feel tired too sometimes”
“I know you’re in pain, but you need to tough it out”
“Things could be worse”
“You don’t look sick”
“You need to be more active/go to the gym”
“You’re just out of shape. Exercise will help”
“Stop using your illness as an excuse”
“You’re dwelling too much on the pain”
“You just have anxiety”
“Get outside”
“I wish I could stay in bed all day”

When your body begins to fail you
There is nothing left to do but embrace it.
To wrap your broken arms
Around a skeleton that has become more cage
Than body

Chronic illness doesn’t care
Your chronic illness doesn’t care what you having going on around you. It doesn’t care if it’s your son’s first birthday party. It doesn’t care about important events.
It. Does. Not. Care.
Do not feel guilty about this. It is not your fault if you aren’t feeling up to something that you’ve been planing.
If you have a chronic illness or disability then this is going to happen. It will happen and you’ll have to pull yourself back a little bit and remember that you must take care of yourself first off.
Don’t be like me. Don’t feel guilty. Take care of yourself.

I will never stop reblogging this
@ people who have food issues cause of their illness
im sorry if eating has become more of a burden than a pleasure for you
im sorry if people dont understand and think youre just a picky eater
im sorry if youre afraid to eat, afraid of the pain or concequences that come with eating
im sorry if you cant talk about your food issues because its an “inappropriate topic” to bring up.
im sorry if people feel like theyre entitled to know your issues, im sorry if youve been robbed of that personal privacy.
im sorry if going to restaurants is really hard for you, you dont deserve to go through this, to have something that should be fun made into a hell
im sorry if you have to watch other people eat food that you love and that you cant eat cause of your illness.
im sorry if you have to starve all day when you go out because the place youre at has nothing you can eat
im sorry if you cant go out and be carefree about what you have to eat because you have to worry about what itll do to you
im sorry if theres a type of food you loved and you had to give up cause of your illness
im really sorry people think that youre just complaining over nothing when you talk about how much you miss not worrying or not being able to eat a type of food,
you have every right to mourn what your illness has taken from you, whether it be the food itself, the love of eating, the lack of worry, or the concequences of eating something, etc etc.
im sorry if the holidays have turned into the worst times for you, im sorry if family or friends arent understanding or if just watching everyone be able to eat anything any time they want makes you upset.
you have every right to any emotion this makes you feel
im sorry if people push off your issues to “oh if they just ate less/more theyd feel better”
im sorry if youre told to stop complaining because you “dont have it that bad”
you matter
your issues matter
and you will get through this.
theres alot of other things, im sure, butthis is all i can think of for now.

So I’m in China visiting my sister right now and let me tell you eating around my food restrictions is not going well. I’m currently experimenting on how long I can go just eating fruit. Send help

Okay everyone, here’s the tea (since that’s one of my safe foods). For years, I have had various health issues including horrible skin, abdominal swelling, and lower abdomen pain. About a year ago, I took some food sensitivity test and FINALLY got some answers. But here’s the bad news; I have a lot of food sensitivities. I was supposed to cut these foods out for 6 months and then reincorporate then into my diet. Well this didn’t work out as planned and anytime I tried a food I had hives, stomach pain, swelling, and horrible reactions. So now I can eat these foods ( pic below)
Well last week, I found out that I have gastro paresis. Basically this means my intestines don’t work and I’m literally full of shit. So my doctor told me that to help this condition, I need to avoid foods high in fat and fiber. So yes, pretty much everything that I can eat now... meaning that I am even more restricted now. So I’m creating this blog to document living with my dietary restrictions and basically finding a support network. Thanks for listening and bon appetit!

I wonder…
I wonder if people realize how irritating it is to hear, “Well maybe if you weren’t allergic to everything you could gain weight!” Even when it’s jokingly…a joke gets really old really fast when you hear it multiple times in a week/day/hour.
I didn’t choose to be allergic to certain foods.
I didn’t choose to have a GI disorder.
I didn’t choose to be this tiny.
I didn’t choose to be this sick.

Shoutout to my “friend” for insulting how hyper-aware I am of the nutrition content in food.
No, I don’t have an eating disorder. No, I do not want to eat the way I do. I genuinely have to pay attention to calories and fat and fiber and carbs.
Pointing it out with a negative connotation only makes me feel like shit and you look like an ass hole.

Growing up with a chronic illness, especially an undiagnosed one, is such a hard experience. You think that the fatigue and pain that you experience is “normal” just because you’ve always had it. You frustrate your parents by asking them if you can stay home from school so often. Your teachers, school nurses, and parents wonder why you complain about physical symptoms so often. You’re constantly in and out of the doctor’s office, but the visits rarely yield any answers. You don’t truly realize that you were sick throughout your childhood and not just “lazy” until you’re diagnosed with a chronic illness as a teenager or adult.
