Sims 4 page on Steam. Not to be controversial but I think the CEO of EA should be beheaded for this

Fact: Jodie was told that she could never do theater because she is not "theater trained" (she has never received any kind of formal training for that matter)
Fact: Jodie made her theater debut by taking on a 100 minute ONE WOMAN play
Fact: Jodie has received nothing but praise, is an early favorite for the Olivier, and all the press is giving 5-star reviews
Fact: Jodie Comer is THE most talented actress of this generation and is the moment

Basically every queer person I know can name a tv show or movie that has taught them the hard way to stay guarded and not get their hopes up when there's the prospect of a queer love story. Many of us wait till the queer romance storyline is concluded or until the whole show ends before deciding to watch it. Knowing how it ends upfront is like a safety net that limits the impact aka our disappointment. It doesn't always work of course, sometimes we let ourselves be foolish. Isn't it sad though that a safety net is still advisable for this? That we can't just gleefully jump into those stories without fear of hitting the ground? When can we stop being guarded? When will there be more happy endings than deaths for queer characters? Not in 2022 it seems.

there’s nothing profound about writing a character who’s near-suicidally devoted to taking down her enemies because she’s lost everything and then taking the last person she loves away from her and ending the show with her in anguish. there’s nothing groundbreaking about writing a character desperately struggling for agency & identity & to break away from the organization that abused her only to have her killed off in the process of destroying them, for shock value. and there’s certainly nothing new or fresh or clever about giving queer characters the tragic ending they were always “destined” to have, yet again. but whatever.

Sandra was absolutely insane for sliding her hand down to Jodie’s ass and bringing them together like that

Can you elaborate on how V bodied liking women pls I need you all of your thoghts on this matter my life depends on itttt
I think there are better people out there that could articulate this much more clearly (and feel free anyone to reblog and add to this) but I’ll try!
They just let her openly desire women all the time:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And she would! There was so much in the details of her all around, shameless love for women.
Also it’s the way she carried herself in outfits whether masculine or feminine:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She was the sexiest woman on tv covered from head to toe. I can’t recall one outfit that showed cleavage. I can’t recall one outfit that was catered to the male gaze.
Tumblr media
When this- NOT EVEN SHOWING NECK- is drop dead sexy because (for lack of better terms) of her swagger, she’s completely dressed and maneuvers for the sapphic gaze.
Her fling with Sebastian was so unfeeling, so pushed onto her because Konstantin told her to be “normal” and her interpretation of that was finding a man and it was painfully clinical.
BUT SHE SEES HER EXES and this is how she stares at them?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So. Much. Emotion. You can just feel their backstory. Their history. The pain.
And that’s not even the core romantic relationship of the show.
I don’t have willpower to dig through all her micro expressions and body movement choices, but the way she disregarded men with small flickering of the eyes, raised eyebrows, head nods, just powerful stances in confrontation with men vs softness with women.
And
Tumblr media
Just to end here.
And where Villanelle BODIED loving women I think Eve bodied a sexual awakening journey (in gaining a truer sense of self identity in all aspects etc etc).
Nothing will hit like this again :(

Wait, wait, I don’t go here, but you’re telling me Killing Eve is based on a series of novels that ended with the main characters in lesbians ever after, and the show specifically chose to ignore that helpfully provided conclusion to deliberately bury the gays??
Oh my God, y’all, I am so, so sorry. I only knew your fucked-up little gals from gifsets, but I was really rooting for them.
