Just to clarify, there's a bill that would STOP credit card companies from controlling who's allowed to spend money on porn or "risque" (read: queer) content. If you don't think big business should be able to tell you what to spend your own damn money on, call your senators and reps to let them know! something that I feel like is missing from fandom nowadays is the idea that you dont have to have a unified, chronologically/tonally consistent interpretation of your favorite work. your fics dont have to fit within the same version of canon, even if theyre all canon-compliant on their own. your headcanons can contradict each other. be a multishipper. write metas that take two totally different interpretations of the same plot point. write a character as a villain and then write them as the hero next time. write a character as a lesbian and then write them as straight next time! engage in hypotheticals and drop them when you get bored! make up the rules as you go!! have fun with it!!!

When creating your magical series, was Miss part of the original plan or did you keep her in after people started shipping her with DeVoid?

Not the original plan but she sort of evolved as I was creating the pilot. The teacher was going to be more of an incidental role but I always liked in magical series when teachers were sort of involved in the girls’ lives or acted as an adult figure in their lives since a lot of shows largely take place in school

I also just love teacher characters across the board. I felt it was a common trope to have a teacher that hates their job but in reality (at least in my experience) teachers kind of have to love their job to do it. It’s tough and often thankless so they’re very driven by passion.

Fun fact, in the pilot, after Aika leaves the classroom Miss was gonna try stop her and be like “wait you can’t- ugh whatever, I’m not paid enough to care.” But for a couple reasons, I changed it to the version it is now. I threw in Aika saying “I love you” to establish that she’s good at making people feel good and give a little insight into why she was chosen to become a magical girl in the first place. But the for Miss, I also didn’t wanna make her fall into the “teacher who hates her job and is annoyed by her students” trope. I still wanted her to be kinda tired and groggy so I went the “what if she loved her job too much and in an unhealthy way” route. I found it to parallel nicely with Aika’s story and I think they could be nice role models for each other in different ways.

ALSO while I was reaching out to VAs I got the idea to cast Michele Knotz as Miss. Marieve originally offered to voice her as an incidental but I had the foresight to know I wanted Miss to be a bigger role. And I wasn’t about to get Michele Knotz, voice of Jessie Team Rocket my favorite character of all time, and not do more with that. It was a nice motivator to work her into the story more hehe.

The ship is a nice added perk as an old lady yuri enjoyer hahaha. I wasn’t gonna do anything with them originally and just keep the doodles of them together to myself but I feel like their relationship can serve the story and not feel too out of place or self indulgent LOL

characters raised in isolation to fulfill some evil agenda is a very common trope but I'm always a little distracted wondering what massive gaps they have in their common knowledge. like. can he send an email? does he know where babies come from? how would he function in a grocery store?
