金閣寺 (Kinkakuji, the Golden Pavilion) in Kyōto. It looks especially amazing in winter with a light dusting of snow, but in September 2015, when I took this picture, there was naught but occasional rain.

Note to inconsiderate western tourists, especially Americans: Remember where you are and why the 原爆ドーム (Genbaku Domu) looks that way before you start posing for cheesy selfies in front of it.
