Something else I noticed that I haven't seen anyone talk about: I think Oda saw himself in Dazai to an extent. Oda didn't tell Dazai to go into the light to honor his memory, he did it because he knows "better than anyone" that the path he wants his friend to walk is better than the one he's on. That's, I hope, common knowledge in the fandom. But I don't think it's just he and Dazai's circumstances that Oda saw parallels in. The descriptions of Oda back when he was a teenage assassin are very similar to descriptions of Dazai when he was that age: Lifeless eyes and voice, detached demeanor, and bleak philosophical outlook.

Oda was as cold-blooded as they come when he was a contract killer. He went from that to being someone he took care of orphans and sincerely loved them to the point where losing them destroyed his will to live. If he could change that radically, why do some people still assume that Dazai hasn't despite all evidence to the contrary?

I’ve finally gotten around to reading the BSD light novels besides 55 Minutes. (I’m starting Storm Bringer today!) After marathoning them, I’ve never been more confident in my assessment that the people who think Dazai is a cold-hearted psychopath who doesn’t care about anyone but himself or that he hates Akutagawa or that doesn’t see himself in Aku or that he doesn’t care about the Agency or that he only does good to honor Oda have no textual ground to stand on.

I think Beast sskk would be very secretive when it comes to their relationship (like sskk usually are), but let's pretend for a moment that they weren't.

It'd be so funny if Akutagawa had that specific kind of Columbo-like detective approach where he keeps bringing up his supposed “wife” at the most random times during cases. And obviously at the agency nobody believes him because they never saw him hang out with anyone outside of work (besides spending time with Oda's orphans), and the idea of Akutagawa having a spouse is enough unbelievable by its own. So everyone is kinda convinced he's just made them up, but making up an imaginary spouse would be like, the fourteenth most weird thing the feral gremlin of the ada has done, so they don't put much thought into it. That's until one day they have an office party where everyone is free to bring their partners, and that's how the agency finds out that Akutagawa's “wife” not only exists but is actually the ex Port Mafia White Reaper Nakajima Atsushi

War is not easy, as I lost part of my family, my home and my work.

I graduated from university with a high grade and worked as a fashion designer and opened my own project because it was my hobby from the beginning.

I developed and succeeded in my field, but the war came and I lost everything in a moment.

My work was my source of livelihood for my family, so because of it there was no longer any source of income.

Also, my mother has been suffering from kidney failure for years and needs dialysis 3 times a week.

Because of the war, she suffered from going to the hospital in danger and long distances.

Also, the lack of adequate care caused her severe fatigue and hospitals became an unhealthy place because of the large numbers who needed treatment.

I had many ambitions and dreams that I wanted to achieve and succeed and become a famous fashion designer.

All we wanted was to survive the war. We were forced to be displaced more than 10 times at least.

We suffer a lot from the tent as we lived the summer with its extreme heat as it is made of poor quality nylon
