THANK YOU! I really don't think that S!Ben slapping Fei would have been the turning point of that conversation, because let's be honest, if U!Ben was in that situation with even Diego, he would've probably done the same...

Even if I like them being twins better, I still think that we shouldn't be comparing their trauma as if all the Hargreeves' siblings didn't go through LITERAL pain to get where they are today... (I just mention the Sparrows more because they are always so undertalked about in the Fandom)

Random headcanons about the hargreeves children's original families:

Fei: She was abandoned on a street corner and would have been raised in a foster care system, where she didn't get a parent who truly loved her until she turned 14, and met her adoptive dad. A man who believed that he should nourish a kid's passion instead of forcing them to be who they aren't. In the last timeline, she meets a man who was supposed to be her adoptive dad, who said that he would've loved to have raised a girl like her.

Jayme: In her original timeline, would've been raised in a catholic orphanage with 12 other girls. She would grow to despise the head nun there and get into a lot of trouble just to make the other girls laugh. They would've confused her random hallucinations for possession and as a result, she would've gone through multiple exorcisms by the time she turned 16. At the last timeline, she was given a certain antsy feeling about these kinds of orphanages, but she wouldn't figure out why for a long time.

Five: He was born as the youngest kid alongside Luther with FIVE (haha, get it?) older siblings. If it weren't for Reginald, he would've been raised in a house that was strained for money, but full of love and care, (and a lot of sibling fights). In the last timeline, he finds one of his older siblings, who doesn't believe him to be her sibling, until they do a DNA test.

Viktor: After his birth, he would've been raised by his single mother and grandmama. They would encourage him to take more music classes once they realize he has a knack for that stuff. In the last timeline, he is continuously trying to find them again.

Alphonso: If it hadn't been for Reginald, the failed killing attempt with his mother would have taken over his greatest regret as his family would've been extremely emotionally, verbally, and psychologically abusive. They wouldn't have cared that he was being bullied, or what his power does to him. In the last timeline, Alphonso finds his family, only to be rejected immediately.

Marcus: He would've been raised in an extremely religiously abusive home. They would've forced upon him their own warped Christian beliefs, and told him to pray for forgiveness for his sins (most of which being his power). He would've grown up despising who he was, and looking for ways to fix it. In the last timeline, he would try to see his family again, only to realize that this was a terrible mistake.

Allison: She would've grown up with an older sister who pushed her to be better than herself. Her mother, if not for Reginald picking Allison up while she was still dealing with her own trauma, would've loved Allison as much as her other daughter. Even if she couldn't always be there, she would've still tried. Her elder sister would've slapped her anytime she saw Allison using her power for what she considered bad. In the last timeline, her elder sister would try to reach out to her, and help take care of Claire when Ray and Allison couldn't be around.

Klaus: After his mother gave birth to him and she was shunned by her community, she would've left. She would've found a new state to live in, did anything she could to have raised a baby she would've grown to consider a little miracle (she wanted any excuse to leave). She would've tried to help in any way she could with her baby's gift. While he would've still had problems, Klaus would've been raised in a loving home. In the last timeline, like Viktor, Klaus would go searching for his mother, finding her standing on a street corner, she was also looking for him.

Christopher: He would've been raised in a home where everyone who looked at him was only reminded of his mother's death, surrounded by people who think of him as a lost cause, and kids who never liked him no matter how hard he tried, he would've taken his own life. In the last timeline, Christopher doesn't even wanna know what his life was like in the original timeline.

Sloane: She would've been raised in a rich home where she would've been taught to never care for anyone but herself. She would grow to hate how her parents never let her learn, and forced her to hide certain parts of herself to preserve their image. She would've had many complications in adulthood before she finally faced that fact that her parents never loved her. In the last timeline, she finds her parents, only for them to pay her off in a way to keep their secret.

Luther: He would've been raised in the same family as Five (in the show, they never disproved that Five and Luther were faternal twins) So he would've had relatively the same childhood. He would grow to have an obsession with how machines work, and even as a party planner, would study them very closely. In the last timeline, he would've been startled at the news of having 5 other annoying siblings, along with the biological one he already has.

Diego: He would've been raised in mexico with a single father due to his mother's death. By the time he was 21, he would move to the United States to become a part of law enforcement, as a way to help marginalized immigrants like himself. With his father's support, he would find success as a very fine detective within the police station. In the last timeline, he would've gotten in touch with his father again, who would still be very supportive.

S!Ben and U!Ben: Being identical twins, they would have been raised in the same family, and grown to be one of those "Eerily alike" twins (with a few differences, like S!Ben being more reckless, and U!Ben being more passive aggressive) but they would have different friend groups, and spend most of their time together arguing and fighting. U!Ben's name would've been Jae, and S!Ben's name would've been Asahi. Their family would try to be very understanding (key word, trying) but sometimes it can be hard with two kids who can randomly summon tentacles from their bellies... regardless, they are raised in a loving home. In the last timeline, S!Ben and U!Ben find out about each other, and reunited with their (adbit large) family.

Fei's attachment style can be borderline unhealthy, and she internally panics when she thinks that someone wants to leave her. She tries not to show it that often (one of the things that got easier when she lost her eyes). If she had lived, she would've had a serious episode thinking that she was truly gonna lose her sister.

TBH the closest the Sparrow Academy gets to a healthy attachment style is Sloane.

Marcus leads the team because he fears what would happen if the team broke apart.

Ben pushes everyone he loves away.

Jayme and Alphonso are codependant.

and Christopher socializes with people who don't always have his best intentions in mind to make up for being a cube.
