Gig Name: Rainy Night in Westbrook

Gig Type: Item Retrieval (Briefcase)

Objective: Get the hardware container back.

Complications: An Arasaka convoy has the briefcase. Expect to see the convoy already moving by the time you get on-site.

Stipulations: Try not to get any civilians killed.

Zone: Westbrook

Location: Medium Office Building

Caper Crew Size: 3

Opposition: Corporate Troopers

Details: My client is trying to get a piece of tech out of the city limits. He's managed to piggyback the container in an Arasaka convoy, heading through Westbrook under the guise of "outbound supplies". You're here for the important part: breaking into the van with the tech, getting out with the tech. We can't have Arasaka discover what's been smuggled out in their trucks. And you'll have to do it while the convoy is moving. If you're not fast, the chaos you sow could drag from Westbrook all the way to City Center - Arasaka's doorstep.

One other thing. The client is offering a bonus for ensuring that no civilians are brought to harm while retrieving the tech. Whether it's a test from the man or a personal scruple - make of that what you will.

Difficulty: Moderate

I know this isn’t a cyberpsycho incident, but it’s important it gets done well and without any mistakes. Someone is going around, claiming to be me, and getting new merc’s to go and fight- no, KILL cyberpsycho’s all around the city. Their effectiveness is less than stellar, but it goes against all I stand for. Go and deal with them, however you see fit, but don’t get anyone else killed.

Complications: An inept burglar triggers the alarm system next door.

Hello again- I've got a gig for you. One of my politician associate got a mechanical prototype stolen from their property. Turns out, it’s one of their competitor’s that stole it. Word's going around that their competitor has the product right in their own personal apartment around North Oak. `

So please, get in, get the prototype, and get out. The client would greatly appreciate if you were gentle with their product. You can expect less pay if anything is out of order.

Hey kid, seems like we got a hot one on our hands. Some rat crawled out of Dogtown and ended up stealing an insane amount of data from one of my clients. Even they didn't want to tell me what he stole- but apparently it's something Barghest wants to know really badly.

But, the client is willing to drop hot money to any fixer that can get a merc to kill this guy before he even steps one foot back into Dogtown. Intel tells me that there's other fixers sending out a Merc too- so be prepared to have some company. And keep it clean, why don't you? Pacifica is already a blood soaked mess as it is.

This is a unique VS type gig. To enter means that you're racing against the clock to complete the mission. Once this gig is closed, one individual will be chosen at random to successfully complete the gig (meaning 4 others WILL fail.) This will be communicated upon the gig closing. Entering this gig means you agree to these terms and will play by the rules.

Y’know if there’s one thing I can take from my decades-long work in media and exposing the corps, it’s this: soldiers get shafted no matter what. Either they do their time then get their cybernetics peeled away and replaced with what was outdated three years ago, or they’re made into a walking war-machine during their service, enough to make Basilisks look like a kid’s toy. Sgt Coleman falls into the latter.

He went on leave a few days ago, was supposed to return this morning but didn’t show up, and now I’m getting reports of a cyberpsycho down by JigJig Street – armed to the teeth; sandy, optical-camo, arm cannon, you name it – doesn’t take a genius to put two and two together here.

Knock him cold and bring him in before MaxTac rears their head.

Complications: Discretion - The client wants this done quietly, no bodies, no footage. No trace you were ever there.

So, I got this client; corpo, social-climber, you know the drill; a real piece of shit in some fancy ass suit. Sooner to spit on us if we walked past him in the street but he’s paying well so let’s turn the other cheek for now.

He wants some incriminating data planted on his friend’s laptop, apparently they’re both vying for the same promotion and he’d rather knock his guy outta the running some other way than zeroing him.

Thoughtful, ain’t he? That’s where you lot come in, I can get you up to the floor, but how you get into their apartment is up to you. Though keep it quiet, noise is bound to rouse some suspicion.

Got an easy one for you lot. Some Scavs are trying to nest up in an apartment on this corner in Northside. Now residents aren’t happy ‘bout that for two reasons; one, who is ever happy to hear a gang of butchers is operating two doors down? And two, if the Maelstrom catch wind of them being about, it’s bye-bye to the block.

So, matter’s simple: go in, root them out. Oh, and should go without saying but try not to get the residents caught in the crossfire.

It's always bittersweet when a family parts ways, more bitter than sweet on this occasion but I digress. Sophie Alma has left the Aldecaldos and her father wants to give her a parting gift; she's refusing to go back to the camp, says she's not interested in listening to him try and guilt-trip or bribe her into staying. So, he's asked for the gift to be delivered on his behalf.

Listen, I know it doesn't seem much but he'd prefer if it arrives pristine. No crooked leaves, no spilled soil. And if Sophie refuses it well...at least we tried.

Why am I giving you such a small job? Consider it a test; that, and I owe her old man. Still got a bit of that Nomad in me.

Welcome to Night City Gigs - a weekly prompt page that encourages interaction with those in the community! Regardless of your medium, we encourage you to participate and meet new people! Here's how it works On each Monday, at 12:00 (Noon) MST there will be a "Gig Post" with the information for the gig! Gig's will be either issued by a moderator or user-submitted; if you want to submit your own gig, please do from our page!

Once a Gig is posted, commenting under it (it can say anything, but it does need to say the OC who is responding to the gig!) will earn you a slot! Slots for the gig are determined by the Caper Crew Maximum; it will say on the Gig Listing! These slots are first come first serve for each listing- that being said, if you have participated in the previous listing you are considered LOW priority for the next one. This allows others to join in who haven't yet participated! Gigs will be available to join for 24 hours after posting- these posts will be labelled as CLOSED after those 24 hours and the individual's will be @'d in the comments letting them know they got the slot!

You then have time to create! Write, in-game photography, art, or even RP! Whatever you can contribute to it, do it! Have fun! Meet new people! Once you post content, please @ this page! We would love to reblog your content!

Before applying for a slot, please ensure that you have some kind of reference for the character that you are entering for that gig. This is kind for those who are working with visual mediums. Not having a reference (even an in-game reference is better than nothing) might have you restricted from future gigs.

As this is a group activity, there are going to always have a variety of skill sets, personalities, and tastes. Everyone has come here to allow the community to flourish and celebrate our interests. Finally, being kind is a lot easier than being mean. We're all adults here- please have a kind and calm conversation if you've come to a disagreement!

Tapping Out

Someone might enter a gig and then might not be able to create due to personal circumstances. In this instance, we please ask that you message the appropriate parties (it could just be this page) so you can pull out of that Gig. This is only a preventative measure so that nobody is taking advantage of free resources or having the rest of the Caper Crew members feeling as if the circumstance is unfair. Tapping out this way will NOT bar you from future gigs!
