Can we erase the idea that low-wage workers being visibly human on the clock is "unprofessional." It does not hurt customers to see cashiers drinking from water bottles or sitting on chairs. But water deprivation and forced standing are both established forms of torture. Hope this helps 😘
#lol i can sit at work but only in the back room w the bell out bc otherwise i would never get a break and customers always seem so annoyed#when they have to ring the bell and wait a whole 5 seconds for me to appear#theres only ever one person scheduled in my dept at a time and unless you're working the weekday 8-4 no one is there to cover your break#and like those shifts are only 5h each but im not about to stand for a full 5h when breaks still get docked from my pay automatically unless#you legit get no time and tell the store manager#and customers love to tease about me being on break or sleeping in the backroom or wtvr when they have to ring the bell when im sitting back#there like ya i was im just as entitled to one as every other employee in this store you just don't notice them bc they get an actual#designated time w someone to cover them#my bad no one was there to bow down to you in the first 15 seconds you were in line
