the hazbin inhabitants were, of course, FIGHTING again  — - angel and vaggie were scrapping over someone’s scornful joke;  charlie is dealing with a dozen or so hellhound reporters outside the gates, suppressing negative commentary and pushing good PR. somewhere, husk was drunk and unconscious. nifty had made the manor as clean as it could be, and now, paced anxiously in the lobby. what if the hotel failed? it meant her services wouldn’t be required. her short recess in hell was DOOMED  — -  she makes chitters nervously, biting at talon-like nails, toothy smile hidden behind worried pout. suddenly; a large hand on her head, soothing and cold to the touch. no words were exchanged, but the gentle gesture ends with a stiff clearing of the throat. nifty laughs, and feels more grounded than before.
