Opposites Attracts

School is over and there isn’t any practice today. Most of μ’s started to head home. Nico would’ve too, but she couldn’t seem to find a particular redhead she may or may not had a massive crush on. Nico wanted to walk with her home today so she can annoy her to the edge for stealing her fries at lunch today. Not that Nico minded too much, she would’ve shared food with Maki any day, this was just a perfect excuse to get on Maki’s nerves. As Nico began to look around for her, she bumps into Rin, Hanayo not too far behind as well. She was as energetic as she was everyday. “Nya! Watch where you’re goi-”, Nico cuts her off, exclaiming a question. “Have you seen Maki? I need her for something.” Rin sighed, “She’s probably in the music room like she always is after-” Nico hurries past Rin, without listening to the end of Rin’s sentence. As Nico gets closer to the Music Room, she starts to hear beautiful piano music. “Good thing she’s not singing this time, I can’t get enough of her beautiful voice…”, Nico thought. When she reaches the door, she makes sure to open it slowly, keeping quiet so she can scare Maki. She began to tip-toe closer to Maki, but suddenly she stopped playing. “Wow, you really suck at trying to scare people.” Maki giggled. Nico was shocked, she was sure she was quiet.. But she suddenly realized that she had been giggling the whole time. “Damn it! I was sure I would get you this time.” Nico said, accepting her defeat. “Anywhoooo, whatcha doin Maki-chan!” Nico immediately jumped on top of the piano stool, sitting mighty close to the redhead, intentionally sitting close enough for their shoulders to rub against each other.Nico pressed down random keys, imitating Maki. Maki stopped Nico’s hands, causing Nico to blush from the sudden touch. “If it wasn’t obvious enough, I was practicing and composing a new instrumental for the lyrics Umi had written.” Maki says as she organizes her music sheets. “The lyrics Umi writes are amazing, and have deep meaning to them, so I’m trying to match them in a way I guess..” Maki trailed off. Nico got up and grabbed Maki’s wrist, surprising Maki slightly, causing her to turn toward the smaller girl. “Come on, you have a piano at home! Give it a rest and let’s walk home already.” Nico pouted. She tugged on Maki’s arm, but she wasn’t moving an inch. “No, I’m busy. Plus, I’m already in the zone, ideas and flowing through my head, and I don’t want to waste ‘em.” Maki continued. “If you want to leave so bad, then leave. School doesn’t close till 6 o'clock, so I have plenty of time. Besides, you’re distracting me.” Maki sighed and turned back to the piano. Nico usually gets this treatment from Maki, but she wasn’t going to give up. “You’re just saying that because my adorrrrrable face is making you blush~” Nico put one finger on her cheek and winked, Maki screamed on the inside at Nico’s true cuteness. “I knew you were nervous around me, but I didn’t think it was THAT bad!” Nico giggled. She was enjoying this. She knew that it would tick Maki off. “Ugh fine! It’s your fault if something goes wrong with the song. You always complain about the songs.” Maki got up walking over to her bag she set on a desk, mentally convincing herself that it wasn’t a way to hide her blush. Nico follows behind, pretending to be offended. “I DO NOT COMPLAIN ABO-” Maki stuck out her foot in front of Nico’s to trip her. Nico stuck out her arm to grab onto something to stop herself from falling, but she only caused Maki to fall as well. “Ouch! Maki, what the hell!?” Maki starts laughing out loud, realizing that she had fallen too, just not realizing that she had fallen directly on top on of small ravenhead. As Maki fell, her lips accidently landed upon Nico’s, and the room grows silent. In this moment, they both stared at each, and faces redder than Maki’s bouncy red hair. “U-uh..” Nico struggled to speak, too flustered to find words. “..Maki get off me.. please..” On the inside Nico really didn’t want Maki to get off, but what if Maki didn’t feel the same toward her? Maki still shocked at the moment, shakes her head, “Y-yeah..” Maki said, not getting off of Nico. She stared directly into the seniors sparkling ruby eyes. Maki didn’t move, neither did Nico. They just…stared. It was as if Maki didn’t want to separate, Nico thought. Maki then opened her mouth, and spoke quietly. “Maybe we should walk home together after all, want to come over my place?” Maki said as she leaned down, hovering just above the ravenheads lips. Nico felt a surge of joy spread through her, and cupped Maki’s cheeks with both hands and smiled, kissing Maki once more. “That sounds like a great idea.” Maki smiled, getting off of Nico and helping her up. From that day on, they walked home together everyday, hand-in hand. Thus beginning their new relationship, a relationship that will last forever.
