Star Kiss

lost in night's quirky embrace, our hearts afloat, finding solace,

in this playground of darkness, we sketch stars with mortal starkness

under the moon's tender grin, whispers laugh upon night's skin,

stars sprinkle their magic bright, dreams dance in the gentle night

carried on the cosmic tale, we tiptoe through midnight’s veil,

chasing joy in shadow's arms, our spirits leap, boundless and warm

through the threads of sight, we sway in moving light,

holding dreams like fragile wishes, scattering hope with star kisses

coated in a winter’s glaze, the trees and home, street and cars, dense puffs of warm breath around, shadowed are my footprints on silver Earth,

its sharp touch chills my nose, the icy gale nips my face, and in my coat and boots; when to venture out, my body enrobes,

the frigid realms around my berth, or with rain and deer, traverse to thaw my frozen limbs a bit; close by the twinkling hearth I sit,

a crimson orb, descends again, glimmers for a fleeting while, and then, a frosty, fiery quiet head, late lingers the wintry bed,

with morning’s chill, I dress, quivering in my bareness, at dawn in twilight, I arise, before the stars vacate the skies
