Six parts determine if a design is good or not:
• Method. The successful blend and optimal use of tools, materials, and processes.
• Use.Does it work? Also, how easy is it to use?
• Need.Must be able to satisfy the needs of the target audience.
• Telesis.Must reflect the times and conditions.
• Association.People must be able to associate with design; they must want it and need it.
• Aesthetics.Of course, it has to appeal to the target audience and preferably beyond that too.

Think about it: what do you experience? Well, all sorts of things: incidents you witness, actions you take, people you meet, conversations you have, stories you hear, books you read, ideas you consider, sensations you feel, and so on.
And it isn’t just a collection of these things, thrown together like a bunch of separate items in a grab bag. It’s the way they all fluidly blend together inside of you, flowing through your mind as a continuous stream of consciousness. To really write about yourself and convey the essence of what it means to be the thinking, feeling, experiencing human being you are, you’d have to somehow convey that stream of consciousness, with all its flux and dynamism.
So, how do you do that? By letting your stream of consciousness flow out of your mind and onto your paper, tracing its course with your pen. That’s what Montaigne did. He’d take a subject and let his mind wander wherever it wanted to go, follow its winding course, and see where it led, recording its path as it went.
And it didn’t lead anywhere in particular. There was no overarching lesson he wanted to impart, point he wanted to make, or thesis he wanted to defend. Instead, there was just a flow of thought – meandering here and there, lingering on one thing and then rushing by another, letting itself get diverted into side channels, returning to a main theme, and then completely changing directions whenever it saw fit. So, ultimately, Montaigne is everywhere; he’s the one directing the flow, even when he’s talking about other subjects like sneezing or carriages. He eventually comes back to himself in a more direct way as well. For example, in writing about death, he ended up recalling his experience of almost dying from his horse-riding accident. He described that experience in as precise detail as he could – reconstructing the flow of thoughts, sensations, and events as they unfolded at the time, relying on a mixture of memory, reflection, and eyewitness accounts.

We all want to believe that we’re doing things for the greater good. We want to feel that whatever we’re doing is the right thing and we are not acting in a way that could potentially hurt others. The fact that your brain is designed to be a little selfish doesn’t make you a bad person. It’s simply the way it has evolved over the years. In many ways, it’s evolved that way to keep you safe from threats to your survival.
However, we don’t live in such risky times anymore. So, when we bow to selfishness consciously, we’re simply doing it because we want to get ahead, even if it’s at the expense of others. You could be forgiven for this behavior if you weren’t aware of it, but after this summary, you’re now clued up!
The subconscious mind is extremely powerful. However, the conscious mind can only take on board and act upon a certain amount of information. That means your motives behind your actions could be less than honorable.
So, how can you fix all of this? By becoming more aware of what your motives behind your actions actually are. Question things carefully before doing anything. Yes, it will make your decision-making a little slower, but at least you know that your choices are based upon good intentions and not a tendency towards selfishness.
By spending some time thinking about the elephant in your brain, you can address anything that forces you to act in a problematic way and become a better person as a whole. Of course, if everyone did this self-reflection exercise, society would become better too!
Try this
• The next time you need to make a decision, take a second to ask yourself why you’re about to take that particular action.
• Do you do things to please others and be accepted, or because you feel they’re right?
• Become more aware of your body language. That will help you to read the body language of those around you.

being able to read body language accurately can give you the upper hand; you could understand others better and use that to your own advantage. It’s also true that you can use your body language to deceive others due to how powerful it is. Your spoken words might be believed or disbelieved, but when you add in body language, it throws a real punch behind your words and gives you a much better chance of being believed and taken seriously.

Not all thoughts need processing. There are times when you need to let go of all these thoughts by letting your mind go blank. Some of these thoughts come when you're not actively thinking. To let go of them, you can find solace in meditation or quietness. Let these thoughts come and go while your mind wanders off because when you think too hard, you tend to come up with bad ideas.
Also, don't be conventional in your thinking. Conventional thoughts conform to your ideas and don't let you think differently. Expand your horizons beyond the default way of reasoning, and you'll discover that conventional thoughts only bring regular results.

When you illustrate your thoughts, you find it easy to evaluate them, and you even make it easy for people to follow them. Leonardo Da Vinci used this concept very well. He visualized his thoughts by drawing them so that by merely looking at the drawings, you could understand what he was thinking about them. Your illustrations can come in different forms depending on the style you feel comfortable with.
Illustrating your thoughts relies heavily on who you are as a person. Having a good knowledge about yourself makes it easy for you to think straight. Ask yourself questions like:
“What are you good at?”
“What are you bad at?”
“How do you learn new things?”
“What do you dislike?”
“What are you passionate about?”
Questions like these make you reflect on your life. It makes you review the decisions you've made, and it teaches you how to make better decisions in the future.

The way you think determines the way you look at life. If you think positively, you'll view life as positive and vice-versa. Let facts lead your thoughts instead of assumptions. Facts open your mind to research, statistics, and experiments that make your knowledge grow in every aspect. As experimental as facts are, they are not always available, which is why whenever facts fail you, apply your instinct or gut feeling.

It is important to know that life is not linear, and it hardly follows a particular pattern. A lot of people mistake life for being conventional, and that's where they get it wrong. The better you are at a particular thing, the better your chances of making it in life. If you offer good value of what's expected, there's a huge chance that you'll get good value in return, but it doesn't always work that way. Understanding this concept makes thinking better. Once you grasp the reality of life, your thoughts change for the better, and this positively affects your planning because if everyone is doing one thing, then most times, it means you shouldn't.

It would thus far appear to me (18 years old) that Existentialism, nihilism and absurdism are all an after effect of enlightenment style thinking. So is pretty much every deep philosophical inquiry since that time. A relic of the enlightenment not necessarily the way things are as if reason alone could get us there. This is just what happens when you force people to think rationally towards something that can’t be answered rationally. Sometimes irrational thinking is necessary in terms of usefulness. Either way we could never hope to grasp the truth. Probably Only usefulness amongst other things. Truth not being one of them. We are limited since our brain isn’t designed to answer questions about the universe with truth. Only with what is useful for survival.

Teaching other people or sharing your knowledge can benefit your own learning efforts. Explaining something to another person motivates you to learn it properly. Also, when you learn something and then present it, you’re learning twice because you’re opening yourself up to the other person’s perspective of that information. This can help improve your own understanding and broaden your view of it.
Of course, you also don’t want to embarrass yourself if you’re sharing information with another person, so it increases the stakes and means you’re motivated to understand the subject, inside and out.

The idea of cross-pollination is that one subject will always overlap with another in some way. For instance, if you want to learn how to become a better public speaker, you could also study body language techniques and how to show confidence. Then, you create the perfect storm to allow you to learn and master whatever skill you’ve set your sights on.

Another helpful way to boost your memory is to use the Loci Method, better known as memory palaces.
A memory palace is a picture you create in your mind, and then explore, planting markers to help you remember a sequence of information. Jonathan Levi used this method to help him remember his TED talk, and it worked very well.

Using visualization in this way has its roots in Hebb’s Law, which says that when you link information together, the neurons in your brain fire up and fuse, therefore helping you remember one thing and then the other thing it is linked to. It’s a very effective way to learn several pieces of information linked together.

It’s no good learning new information if you’re not able to retain the information in your memory. The problem is most of us don’t have a great memory.
However, there are several ways to boost your memory effectiveness, and one of the best is using visualization. This basically comes down to imagining pictures in your mind, linked to the information you’re trying to remember, then making that image as obscure and memorable as possible. This is a “marker” and will help you remember many different things.

Your character is formed by your thoughts, which in turn are formed by your circumstances at any given time. Of course, that doesn’t mean that the circumstance you find yourself in now is a total reflection of who you are, because we go through many different circumstances in life. It means that you learn something from every situation you are in, and you can choose to put forth the effort to do that, looking for a positive, or you can allow yourself to drown in negativity. Allen states that you need to use self-control and keep your mind as pure as possible.

We endure the blows and twists of life. We have a heart for any fate. But we also have a brain. We look for sustainable, painless, practical solutions…if they exist. We compromise. We look for efficiencies. We don’t care how something looks to others, only whether it gets the job done. If we need help, we ask for it. If there’s an easier path, we take it, provided we can still hold tight to our standards and self-respect.
We’re tough…but only when we need to be. We’re practical first.

Refusing to listen comes easily. But just as one should be mindful and intentional when we grant the gift of our attention, we should try to keep the same energy when we withhold it. While not listening can be justified and is a matter of practicality, sometimes, nothing can change the fact that it is actually a form of rejection.
Consciously or unconsciously, we are choosing to attend to something else, which implies that the person is not worth our while. This can be hurtful, even when we don’t mean to be. So, we need to be careful not to shut someone out before giving them a benefit of an explanation or a chance to lay down the contents of their hearts. It is helpful to realize that people change, and our view of them changes when we truly listen to them. It often pays to first make an effort to listen before we decide to pull the plug.
