I feel like the reveal of Clarence as the Allwhite writer just feels like a less successful version of the moment where the gospel play stops when thought 1 asks Usher if this is really how he wants to portray his parents. And then Centering Myself is just Memory Song, but less successful. They both come to interrupt the show that has intensified to a point it has to break and then the MRJ stand-in character comes and sings a song about it.

one of my favorite things about seeing tgwdlm:r was that there were people in the audience that hadnt seen the original show so when hidgens is listing all the working boys i could hear someone say “how many fucking boys are there??”

btw I talked to Joe in the lobby after TUUHSTM and asked him about the album version of Jeff and he says a studio version of the Korean line exists and maybe he'll do something with it one day. And also that Korean is intentionally the line because it's another way Jeff the white guy sees difference and exoticism between him and the window girl.

A personal highlight of Starkid on Dirty Laundry was Mariah going “and then this fuckass tenor boy” to a chorus of “ugh tenors” from the cast while Lily looked on with confusion. Definitely a ten on the Theater Kid Scale.

While we’re on the topic of TGWDLM:R, here’s a reminder appropriate/not appropriate ways to show your love for the show if you’re seeing it live:

✅ Cheering/clapping when the house lights go down: yes absolutely!! It’s an exciting moment!!

✅ Cheering/clapping at the end of numbers: 10000% yes!! Perfect time to show appreciation

✅ Laughing at jokes: of course! It’s a funny show

✅ Cheering/clapping at intermission: yes! They just killed the first act. Clap through the whole intermission if you want

✅ Organic reactions: no problem! But the key is organic (I’m thinking about the audience reaction in the scene where Bill tries to save Alice as an example - people are in the moment! They’re invested!)

✅ Cheering/clapping at the end of the show: fucking absolutely!!!! Go wild!! Give Lauren the fourth wall break nightmare she deserves!!

🚫 Screaming/cheering/clapping over the start of the opening number: no! If you’re still going when Jeff starts singing you’ve gone too long

🚫 Screaming/cheering/clapping at people’s entrances: no! I know you love them. I know you want to let them know. But save it for those appropriate moments. The comedic timing of this show was already great and they’ve finessed it even more, so don’t stop the flow. Even for cameos I know people will be excited about! Even for your favourite actor/character!

🚫 Any kind of heckling: definitely not!! This is not an interactive show. They don’t need you to make jokes or give commentary. Same for exaggerated dramatic reactions

🚫 Saying the lines/singing the songs: hard fucking no!!!!! You know them all. Same! But keep it in your head. People aren’t paying to hear you, they’re paying to hear the cast. Save the singing/quoting along out loud for the digital ticket/youtube version at home!

Multiple members of the cast have expressed their wish for good audience etiquette. They’ve worked so so hard on this show so let them perform it the way they want to without interruption, as well intentioned as it may be! I promise they will still feel the love!

This was a vision that I had to fulfill, I spent like more than 1 and 1/2 days on this (im excluding the procrastination, if we include it, its 3 days)

basically im combining my two strong brainrots of this month, tgwdlm and npmd, and ngl im actually in love with the results

making Hamlet fanart in 2024, slapping Juicy (main hero of Fat Ham, a modern play, Hamlet version, played by black fat queer person) on char design i saw in old b&w film while listening MCR playlist was an experience

There are 3 sketches:

It had previous classic-modern fusion vibes + a little vibe of disney princess song (because of bird and emotion expression similar to disney musicals). From the chest of TC it's going steam, like character is heated mechanism pushed to limits. The face of TC is strong and determined, with mouth wide open trying to catch breath.
