not to sound corny but the textile arts make me feel connected to the world around me. it's so intentional and deliberate and when i sit and do it, i think a lot about how many other women that came before me used to do it, how many hands have used the same supplies i am using, and how many other people might be doing the same thing as me all across the world right now

I'm seeing very few people talk about this, but Project 2025 threatens to get rid of the Department of Education. This would allow increased parental control into what's being taught in the classroom, and will only increase book bans. Please, if you know a child in your life, get a book into their hands. Give them banned books. Give them books about any topic being taken out of schools. Take them to the library. Pirate ebooks for them. Donate your own books. Don't let their education be taken away.

My favorite simple snack bars for fall

Spice cake mix

Pumpkin puree

Pumpkin pie spice

Cream cheese frosting

Make box mix according to directions

Add in pumpkin puree

Bake in greased up pan

Let bars cool

Add frosting and lightly sprinkle pumpkin pie spice on it. My husband and I love these for an easy snack when the baby is being a handful.
