"Would you really cook something for me?" Neena asked with a wide grin on her lips. It was late and she had half expected the kitchen to be closed, but she was so grateful for Renee. "Yes, I'd love a burger and some fries. Maybe those truffle fries if you guys still have the ingredients?" She asked. "Thank you so much, Renee. You are honestly the best!" Neena settled herself more at the bar, setting her bag down. "How have you been?"
"It's still open because I'm here," she smiled at Neena. The other cook had gone home for the evening but the perk of having been apart of the business since her mom had opened it was that she knew how to do everything around. She liked bartending, as it kept her socialized throughout the evening but there were nights in which she'd rather disappear and stay as a cook. "What were you thinking you wanted?" @neenawagncr

Neena nodded, swallowing hard and lifting her hand to squeeze her father's. When her mom got sick, or when they finally told the kids, it all happened so fast. She went downhill so quickly and then she was gone. "It's not fair." She whispered. It wasn't fair her mom died. It wasn't fair they were all left without her. Still, she felt a smile tug at her lips once more when she spoke. "It annoys you that I inherited some of my traits from mom? I didn't get it all from you? That's petty." She laughed, her tone letting her dad know she was only teasing. They both had the same dramatic streak. "Okay then, I'll drive it home and take it for a few days." Neena sighed though, not liking her dad's lack of an answer. "Could have fooled me, you sure act like you hate him. Okay, but why? What's so wrong with Evren that he's not the guy for me?"
He sighed and turned to look at his youngest. "So do I." He said softly and touched her arm. It was hard for them all to be without his late wife and some day she wished him and Naomi had told the kids sooner about her illness. Maybe it wouldn't haven been so hard in the end and maybe his oldest wouldn't resent him as much. But it was what she wanted and he'd do anything she had wanted always. "I know. It annoys me a little." he teased and took a deep breath. "It wouldn't be that big of a deal. You could keep the car for a few days for all I care. It needs to be driven anyways." Nick told her. "There's nothing you can do, Neena. And I don't hate him. He's just not the guy for you and it's better you see it now." @neenawagncr

For better or worse, Neena had always been impulsive. While sometimes she could plan things out, her job and the research and planning she had to do to make the scripts were proof of that. But, more often then not she was impulsive, wild and what she would call fun. Hearing Evren agree with her, though she was sure Evren would say yes to anything she said. It was the thought that counted though. "I make your life fun." Neena teased him, pushing her luck and knowing that she could probably have him agree to her having three heads and purple hair. "Good." With one last kiss, Neena pulled away, but she slipped her hand into his as they made their way to the Ferris wheel. Stepping into the cart, she settled on one bench and watched Evren join with amusement in her eyes. It may have been easy to get him on, but if he knew what she was planning then he probably would have run onto the ride eagerly. "Ready for the ride of your life?" She asked, her voice taking on an almost sing-song tone.
Letting his lips brush against hers as she kissed him softly, Evren shook his head. One of the many things he adored about Neena was that she was fun; he didn't have to worry about things being awkward or quiet or having to figure out what to do. With Neena around, Evren was sure to always be on his toes and ready to be prepared for anything that Neena would have up her sleeve. With Neena, Evren was able to explore a side of himself that he couldn't say he normally would. So once he was back at her side and she was admitted herself that she was a lot of fun, Evren laughed. "You are." he smiled, kissing the top of her head as he took her hand, already beginning to make his way towards the Ferris wheel they'd been talking so highly of. "I think I can probably be convinced with little to no bribing." he winked, holding the gate separating them from the seats on the Ferris wheel and motioning for her to go first. "After you." he smiled. @neenawagncr

Neena saw nothing wrong with staying friends with Sam since the end of their relationship. Though, she was not aware the man had any continuing feelings towards her, or that he harbored anything more for her than friendship. It was why she had no problem hugging the man, keeping him close and settling down right next to him. Folding her legs over each other, she leaned across the bar to catch the bartender's attention. As he approached she placed her drink and then turned her dark gaze back to Sam, giving him her full attention. It'd been too long since she last ran into him and Neena was glad for the opportunity.
There was no judgement in her voice as Neena noted upon him drinking alone. Why would there be when she'd done the same thing herself many times? Both in public and at her home. But drinking was always more fun when there was someone to share your company with. "Exactly, your saving grace. Though many people would not call me such angelic things, probably more demonic." She laughed as her drink was set down in front of her. Starting a tab, Neena lifted her glass to Sam to toast with him. "Because she's my friend! You know, I do have amazing taste."
He didn't like simple. Didn't enjoy easy. Sam had always been drawn to chaos and excitement, the forbidden and nasty. The unordinary and strange. He liked his people damaged and a little insane. Neena's alleged character flaws were the reason he'd been drawn to her. Were still the reason he could not bring himself to completely neglect her presence. There was still a certain fondness he harbored, which had yet to yield and fade into the bleak backdrop of monotonous tragedies his life was currently littered with. There was an undeniable familiarity in her embrace and as she pulled away, the cold felt more stark than it had moments prior. His hand curled marginally tighter around the glass it was holding, as though it was a saving grace. As though it might do anything to anchor him in this reality.
It looks like you are drinking alone. His smile lessened, despite never faltering entirely and it was his mother's voice, blaring inside his mind like a siren, a willful mantra. A good man shouldn't be drinking. And here he was, drinking by himself. What did that make of him? "My saving grace, huh? You're way too kind." He said, the smirk slowly growing wider and curling the corners of his mouth. Though at Neena's following words, he leaned back, taking another sip of his drink. "I would?" His words were carried by a doubtful undercurrent and yet, his smirk lingered on idly. "Why do you think so? Because she's your friend or because she have a criminal record?" @neenawagncr

Neena couldn't believe Brendon was here! In East Haven! Neena hadn't run into any of her friends from college since she left New York City. Sometimes when she returned for trips, she saw the ones who had stayed in the city. And besides one of her best friends from college coming to visit her, she hadn't seen anyone in East Haven. But here was Brendon right in front of her. "What are you drinking then if not coffee?" She asked with a grin, and before anyone could stop her, Neena reached out and enveloped Brendon up in a tight hug. She finally let him go, grinning up at him. "I live here! I actually grew up here. When I moved away from New York, I came back to East Haven to really get my podcast started as a real deal." She still couldn't believe why he was here of all place. "Why did you move here? You're the first one I've run into from the city here."
Brendon was stopping by the grab himself a hot chocolate, it being his favorite drink during the cold weather, and was just scrolling through his texts while he was waiting for his. Once he saw the barista put his down, he went over to reach for it before his hand collided with a woman who was reaching for her own drink. "No worries there, I don't even drink coffee" he said with a small smile before looking down at her and realizing that he knew who she was. "Neena? I just moved here, what are you doing here?" he asked back, happy to see a familiar face. He wouldn't say that they were ever super close, but they had mutual friends so they sometimes ended up at the same events. She was always nice to him, and for someone who stayed on the straight and narrow, the stories of her adventures were very entertaining.

"Sounds boring." She retorted with a teasing smirk. Not that she was offering herself up to help him change that while she was dating Evren. But, Neena did know that she had on more than one occasion been the one to change that. The first time had been unplanned, unexpected and a huge mistake. Their first thought after fucking each other had been Johnny, which was a very unsexy thought to have afterwards. They couldn't do it again. But then, like moths to the stupid flame, they both had done it again. And again. "Fifth time I think." She replied with a grin. While others might think the on and off again relationship would be toxic, Neena didn't think so. Every time she and Evren had parted as friends. She just hadn't been ready to do any serious dating. But this was turning out to be the longest they had been together yet. She didn't want to think on that too much. "The last couple times I was in the station was for research and files for my show. But maybe Diana and I could change that, it's been too calm for a while. Too boring." She teased and took a sip of her drink. "Oh, I remember very clearly." Neena smirked, her eyes sparkling. "I think we broke your headboard one time. Plus the not as fun times you got me for trespassing."
"Myself mostly." He quipped back at her because they both knew that what had happened between them was in the past and needed to stay there. If Johnny ever found out Adem had fucked his little sister...he didn't wanna think about that. He rolled his eyes at her announcement about who she was dating. "What is this the fourth or fifth time you've gotten back together?" He asked, though truthfully he didn't care, it wasn't his business how many times she wanted to play the game of break up and make up. He figured it was only a matter of time before she was back to causing trouble. "I don't get in trouble, I track it down and handcuff it, remember?" Detective Sahir was the only part of himself that ever seemed to have his shit together. @neenawagncr

"Ah, so you aren't just trying to butter me up?" Neena asked with a laugh. But really, she was touched. Being a podcaster meant she was part of a very niche community. Having 'fans' felt a bit odd saying, since she rarely felt famous or any degree of a celebrity. Or at least she didn't count herself as one. She was just doing research and sharing stories she found fascinating with others. So, it always touched her when people responded so positively and truly enjoyed her work. Her whole body glowed with pride. "If you are ever really curious, let me know. I record at a studio space here in town. I could let you sit in one time while I'm recording if you wanted." Neena offered with a smile. "Oh for sure it's like picking a favorite child!" Neena laughed. "I can say which case sparked my interest and brought me into the true crime sphere, but in regards to picking a favorite? That's so fucking hard. I have a, like, top ten but even those are hard to narrow down."
With a small nod at the other's question, Haven smiled. "Yeah, and I'm not just saying that because you're standing in front of me either." she laughed, knowing there were probably a lot of coincidences where she was told that just because she was standing in front of them. "I have to say, there's not many cases when it comes to true time that I feel like I could just research for hours afterwards, but, yours definitely keep me intrigued long enough." she smiled. "I'd be willing to bet nearly every other episode has me doing my own research." she admitted. "What's been your favorite episode so far to record or is that like asking a parent which child is their favorite?" she laughed. @neenawagncr

Evren was busy with Rowan tonight, and Neena finally felt like she was ahead of the episodes that were slated to come out soon. So, that meant one thing. To find the most outrageous way to spend the next 24 hours, maybe even longer. And that meant that one of the best people to go to would be her cousin Diana. The two had a history of partying, drinking, drugs and even worse. The amount of times Diana had been right there in the jail cell with her while they laughed and decided who to call, Nick or Abraham. Slamming down the extra shot they had added, Neena perked up as the song came over the throbbing speakers. "Fuck yeah!" She shouted over the music, running out on the dance floor with her cousin teetering on sky high heels. Her body gyrated to the beat, and she threw her head back, running her hands through her hair and loving the feeling of the energy of the crowd pulsating around her.
closed starter for @neenawagncr location: Oasis
Neena was definitely Diana's favorite family member. While she loved her brother, he didn't understand her and with her cousin, she could be herself. It was possibly because the two shared a love of partying and taking things that'd make them have a good time. They just got along easier than the others and always found each other at parties. Tonight, they were at the Oasis and had just done some shots when a familiar tune hit the sound system. "Neena!" She shouted and grabbed her hand. "It's our song!"

Neena enjoyed that Nancy's stayed open late. With her unstructured schedule, Neena was no stranger to being out late either because of her job or due to partying. So when she got done recording that night, she glanced at the clock and noticed the time for the first time. Her stomach growled, but the thought of heating up some frozen dinner at home made her sad. She wanted something home cooked and delicious. Nancy's was still open. As she walked in, she noticed Renee behind the bar. Making her way over, she grinned at the girl and slid into one of the barstools. "Hey, Renee." Growing up, Neena would have counted herself closer to Renee out of the two siblings, but since coming back from school she felt like she'd seen more of her brother through Nicole. "I just finished recording and I'm starving. Is the kitchen still open?"

location: nancy's bar and grill
It was getting to be closing time, but Renee knew that she would still be there for a while even after the last patron left. She was cleaning some glasses, drying them off as she pulled them from the rack and placing them in their respective places for the next day's shift. Renee was a bit lost in her own thoughts when she heard another's voice, finally breaking through to her, "Oh, hi, Neena, hey," she stumbled over her words, "what brings you out?"

Neena felt an instant wave of soberness wash over her as the reality sunk in. This was Lucy. This was her boyfriend's ex and the mother of his daughter. Neena wasn't threatened, she knew from Evren that Lucy was dating someone and she was confident in knowing that Evren loved her. But, she had never expected to come face to face with this woman. "Lucy." She repeated again, still processing the fact that she was here right in front of her. "No, you don't have to go." Neena finally felt a few of her brain cells sputter back to life. There was no need to chase the woman off. "I need a drink." She finally blurted out, feeling all the other drinks she'd had evaporate and the need for one gnawed at her strongly. "Want to get one with me? I want to talk to you."
She watched as Neena paused and finally realized who she was. She knew this would happen and she wanted to make a run for it now. "Luciana, yes." She said and swallowed. "I was trying to tell you. I'm sorry. I'll just go, okay? Let you have fun. Find Evren. I gotta get back to my boyfriend anyways." She said and she played with the side of her water bottle. @neenawagncr

Neena's teasing grin faltered for a moment, and a look of sadness and love shone through her eyes as they misted over. Her mother. She was just like her mother. "I miss mom." She whispered, looking away for a moment as she remembered her mother never letting an argument or disagreement go. Maybe she was like her mom coming out to her dad's shop to make sure they made up before she left. "But mom did raise me too, I had to get some of my genes from her and not all of them from you." She smiled again at her dad knowing she took after him more. "Yeah, but then I'd have to get it back tomorrow and have someone follow me in my car." Still she leaned back in her seat and let out a slow sigh. "You are though. But you're right, I should have known better. But... what other way could I do this and you two stay in the same room? Why do you hate him so much, dad?"
"You're just like your mother." He commented. Naomi would never leave if something was going on. They didn't fight often, but when they did, she'd never leave until they fixed things. "You won't be doing that. You can take your mother's car home." Nick told her before looking over at her. "I'm not doing that." He said before shaking his head and releasing a breath. "So surprising me with a man you know I don't care for is how you do that? You're smarter than that, Neena." @neenawagncr
