what do we think about the fact the first nine years of chip's life, before the black rose pirates, have never been mentioned in canon at all. not even indirectly. no one's questioned where he came from, who he came from, why he joined a crew of pirates at that age, why no one went looking for him, why he doesn't talk about it. does he not remember? who can say, because it's never fucking talked about. chip is probably the most mysterious character in riptide, maybe second only to niklaus
