          『 LUCA’S SMILE, AS GOOD AS the man was, was equally as mean as aspen’s. he relaxed his shoulders, his piercing blue eyes flashing with a condescending glint that spoke for him. he saw her as nothing more than a brat. brats get on luca’s nerves ( and she pressed on a rather sensitive one, much to her enjoyment ). ❝ i’m flattered but i’m afraid i’ll have to let you down, schoolgirls aren’t my thing, no matter how big your crush is. ❞ he scoffed. the threat did little for him. a peacock preening her feathers. ❝ i’m well aware of your little temper tantrums. and i’m sure you’re most men’s poison, to put it lightly. ❞ he stood, phasing through the table so he didn’t have to move his chair. ❝ but, here’s a question i’d like for you to think about. in biology, a poison works on a molecular scale, often damaging its victims’ vital cell functions in order for it to be lethal. now, imagine cells that have this miraculous ability to phase past alien materials as if it wasn’t even there, rendering said alien materials useless. can the poison still be lethal ?? can the little girl’s party trick still work ?? ❞ his smirk was knowing as he stepped through the table and walked to the bar. ❝ have i entertained you enough, my lady ?? after all, that’s all i’m good for when it comes to you, isn’t it ?? ❞ 』

—《 ☾ 》  HER MOOD SOURED, but the smile on aspen’s face didn’t falter for a second. she enjoyed these games. she liked playing them and she liked the verbal combating. however, she absolutely despised being spoken down to. “ consider me heartbroken, dearest. what ever shall i do without the attention of the big, strong man ?? ” she sighed forlornly, jutting out her bottom lip in a pout. her eyes narrowed as she leaned back in her chair. “ i’m well aware of how my little party trick works. are you, however, aware of how yours does ?? i wasn’t aware that you could focus on phasing through the alien material in your body while also remaining corporeal enough to get those sticky little fingers around my heart. i thought we’d be at an impasse, dearest. but you think you could kill me faster than i could kill you ?? color me impressed. ” her eyes followed him to the bar, mean little smile softening into something more host-like -- cordial. “ i’m sure you’d be good at a lot of things. but don’t be in such a rush to get out because of me. i’d love a good drink if you would. ”

        ❝ ✦ ◜ GENESIS LET OUT a dramatic sigh and slumped down in her chair, a small smile tugging at her lips. as much of a perfectionist as she was, she had never been a big fan of studying. she got bored of it far too easily. she sat up a bit to read what her brother had written, bursting into a small fit of laughter at his words. she slapped his arm playfully ( not enough to hurt, of course ). ❝ oh, i see, ❞ she teased, ❝ you’re just trying to get rid of me. and to think, ridley, i thought we were as close as could be. hurts to know i’ve been wrong these past eighteen years — and nine months. ❞ a teasing smile tugged at her lips and she doodled a sad face on the page in front of her. ◞

—《⛧》 RIDLEY COULDN’T HELP but play along, shrugging in mock guilt. “ what can i say ?? ” he scribbled. “ too much vidraru energy around. i don’t think the world can handle it. there can only be one. ” he looked at his sister, playfully grave before he broke off into a small huff of a laugh. he added little teardrops to the sad face his sister began. “ maybe we could alternate. you sleep seventeen years first, then i sleep the next seventeen years after you wake up. we could tag team it. ”

—《 ⛧ FT. SODAPOP 》:

          『 AS IF SODAPOP DIDN’T ALREADY have trouble not getting nervous in front of the boy. now, he was teasing him and making his stomach turn into knots. he gulped and let out a sheepish smile. he glanced away, just to bring his hand up to his neck and try to flash a more confident smile ( whether or not it worked, he didn’t know ). ❝ y-you know what i mean, two is always better than one. i might not know how to fight but i know how to not die so like — safety reasons. ❞ his laugh at the end was both bashful, if not a little cheeky. he finally stopped rubbing the back of his neck when ridley held his hand out. he may have seemed overzealous but anyone could tell that the boy was in a gay panic, and he shook ridley’s hand enthusiastically. ❝ i-i didn’t mean it. i was just i-in a rush and you know, the whole purse thing and — i had to give the nice lady her purse back and i wasn’t looking where i was going but i’m glad i-it was you and no one else — wait, that sounded bad. you just seem like — ❞ sodapop bit his bottom lip to stop the word vomit from ruining the moment any further. he, once again, glanced away. ❝ w-wanna go for a milkshake, maybe ?? my treat ?? ❞ 』 

—《⛧》 RIDLEY COULD ALMOST see the other boy gathering up his courage. he knew the look well, seeing as he also tended to get nervous talking to people. the fact that he was making someone else nervous ?? well, he was probably the most confident he’d ever been in his life.  “ well, knowing how to not die is pretty pertinent information to know. definitely helpful when you’re spending time with someone. for safety reasons. ” his grin grew, if that was somehow possible, at the other boys excitement. it was a nice feeling, having someone seem just as interested in talking to him as he was them. he shook the other boys hand, letting it go on for a moment longer than was perhaps normal. “ i feel you, ” ridley cut in smoothly, charmed by the babbling but didn’t want the boy to feel uncomfortable. “ i didn’t mind it, dude. it was real cool of you get that lady’s purse back to her. ” he tilted his head, frowning when as the boy started looking nervous but quickly perked up at the question. “ i -- uh, absolutely. that sounds great, actually. ”

          NARI DIDN’T MIND talking to the other villains. after all, who else was she going to speak to ?? she wasn’t the type to make needless enemies, especially when no one was after the same thing she was. why should she bother ?? she had no intention of going out of her way to destroy people who weren’t even relevant to her. ❝ it’s not like they’re in my way or anything. killing isn’t the answer to all things, and imprisoning them would mean having to keep them somewhere, and that requires too much dedication, ❞ she said, leaning back against a boulder. ❝ permanently incapacitating them… i’ll keep that one in mind. ❞ okay, so maybe she could revel in her villainy sometimes. the idea was tempting, but she didn’t think she’d follow through.

—《 ☾ 》 JINSUNG HUMMED IN thought, legs tossed over the arm of the chair they were sprawled on. they interlaced their fingers over their stomach, absentmindedly tapping the pointer. “ of course it’s not the answer. killing is the question. sometimes, the answer just happens to be yes. ” they shrugged. it didn’t, to them, seem like something that would be particularly difficult to accomplish. “ please let me know if you’d like any suggestions, or help, on that matter. i’ve been a little bored recently. ” they threw a small grin in what they hoped was her general direction. “ but i’m curious. what exactly did they do to earn that ire or yours ?? ”

        ❝ ✦ ◜ IF HIS KNUCKLES weren’t already bloody and bruised, heaven may have started another fight then and there — but, thankfully, he found it in himself to refrain. instead, he just sighed, pressing his knuckles to his jeans to wipe off a bit of the blood. ❝ why do you even want — deets ?? ❞ he seldom talked about the fights he got into, unless he was complaining to april about them. ❝ that’s because the other guy doesn’t matter. he — his nose was bleeding. he had a black eye. are those enough deets for you ?? ❞ he scoffed. ◞

—《 ⛧ 》 TACT WAS NEVER something that joohyuk had much of a grasp on, and really, his inability to ever know when to stop was going to get him into trouble some day. he grinned, taking the other boys sigh as resignation. “ you know !! just wanna hear the hot takes !! want you to spill the tea. ” he really was just a nosy motherfucker, but if it gave him the opportunity to talk to someone new then who was he to complain ?? “ those are perfectly adequate deets, my man. i knew you were the winner. i could feel it in my bones. ”

          TO BE FAIR, he had invited anyone to come over and respond to him by speaking so loudly. he should count himself lucky that it wasn’t the teacher. ❝ wow, that’s reassuring. are you always so uplifting ?? ❞ he said as he continued to walk, unable to stop the corners of his mouth tilting up, just a little. he snorted. ❝ i think you’re mistaking popularity for actual talent. ❞ he had a pretty face, but that didn’t mean he was a spectacular hero.

—《 ⛧ 》JOOHYUK SHRUGGED, WINKING playfully at the boy. mostly, he was just glad to not have been brushed off. “ absolutely. i’m the epitome of optimism with a real can-do attitude. think i should become a motivational speaker ?? ‘ it’s all useless, but you gotta try anyways, right ?? ’ man, i’d make a killing !! ” they joked, trying to wring out as many smiles as he could. he reached up to pat kiyoung on the cheek. “ you think a face like that is one that humans are just blessed with ?? nah, mate. you got a cool quirk and handsomeness in spades. ”

          『 PARKER DIDN’T HAVE THAT FUN little thing that would stop most people from doing something completely and utterly stupid. one would call it … self-control ?? so, when lydia showed their infuriating face, he acted on pure, raging instinct. that instinct ?? even if their exercise was over, he ran and jumped up, his palms sparking as a warning. ❝ fuck off, you sideshow freak !! ❞ he called out. their stupid little grin and their annoying voice. he hated how riled up he got around them, especially because they were such a little bitch. his palm smoked and as he thrust his open palm forward, the BOOM !! of his explosion resonated across the gymnasium. ❝ bastard !! i’ll knock your head off !! it should come off easy since you like to gas yourself up with that fucking ego !! ❞ 』 

—《 ⛧ 》LYDIA’S EYES NARROWED in derision as he charged, arm flying up immediately to call on their silks. the silk wrapped around their arm & they flipped upwards, but not in time to completely avoid the blast. they let out a hiss of fury as their hair caught fire, & they quickly battered out the flame. “ chill the fuck out, hothead. ” they sneered, nearly growling at the boy. smoke rose from the end of their singed curls & they felt their patience snap at the smell. their hand shot out & yards of silk came streaming out from around them. the fabric raced towards the other h.i.t, trying to wrap around his ankles to pull the other boy off his feet. “ at least i manage to keep my head for the most part, you fucking prick. calm the fuck down before i have to kick your ass a second time. ”

          AND PEOPLE WONDERED why he preferred not to make any noise at all. it meant people thought they could just talk to him, as though he wasn’t trying to focus himself. ❝ nothing worth noting. ❞ he tucked his phone back into his bag. he hadn’t told anyone what his father was like, and he wasn’t about to start now. it was just a text message, anyway. ❝ ❛ superstar ❜ ?? really ?? ❞

—《⛧》 LYDIA HUMMED, NOT believing the other boy for a second. they weren’t friends, probably never would be, but they had a pretty good grasp on reading people.  “ it’s never nothing. ” they countered. “ it got you to open up that tight-lipped mouth of yours. ” they sauntered in, pulling up a chair and sitting backwards on it. “ superstar. really. got a problem with it ?? ”

          YEJIN COULDN’T COMPLETELY agree. there were plenty of people who were cut out for hero work regardless of how they went about it and how they acted, and what did she know about them other than their faces ?? all she wanted was for them to be a bit quieter. ❝ people have different ways of achieving the same goal. all i want is for them to be a bit quieter about it. ❞ she raised an eyebrow at them, finally looking at them properly. ❝ are they ?? ❞

—《⛧》 LYDIA WORKED HARD to get to where they were at. they spent hours studying. they spent years honing their quirk before they even made it to saturn. for people to reach the top on pure luck alone ?? lydia could never stand for that. “ we could make them be quieter about it, ” they suggested, only half-joking. they snapped their book shut, arching a brow at the other girl. “ aren’t they ?? ” they cast a pointed glance around their surroundings. “ who else is here studying ?? see anyone ?? ”

—《 ♕ 》SHEN WAS THE campus security. his job relied solely on the fact that he was fiercely protective and made sure nothing could get past the gates that surrounded the school. this fact, however, did not make him any better at dealing with people. “ bora, bora, please - ” shen exhaled, harried. “ don’t do that. would you like to be carried to the nurses office ?? i can carry you. ever ridden a dragon before ?? ” his eyes widened a fraction at himself. “ that came out wrong. please feel free to punch me in the face for that. but only after you’ve let me take you to the nurse. ”

—《 ✥ 》THALIA HAD AN unapproachable air about her. it wasn’t her fault exactly, but there was something fierce, something dangerous that was inherent in her every move. it’s what made her last three assistants quit when the couldn’t handle it, and it’s what earned her the title of shark both in and out of the courtroom. just a little too much ocean in her bones that made people uncomfortable.

               THE FLOWER SHOP owner, however, didn’t seem to be so daunted by her demeanor. he didn’t seem to be much daunted by anything which, she couldn’t help it really, intrigued thalia. she hadn’t exactly meant to, but she seemed to find herself popping into the shop every so often to peruse the blossoms he, bolin, had on hand and it was on one of these visits that she caught his words towards another employee. “ so attractive it’s unfair ?? ” she cut in, eyebrow rising and corner of her lips turning up. “ my, my, she must have really caught your eye. ”

—《 ♕ 》 “ I ABSOLUTELY BELIEVE you. full, one hundred percent trust in you, ” shen assured the other teacher. there was a brief moment of silence as the two walked together before shen broke down in nervousness, as he was wont to do. “ but are you positive this is going to be alright ?? not to diminish your authority -- because i could never -- but you know. i just need to double check. with you. i need to know you’re comfortable. i am absolutely comfortable, just so you know. just......doing my job. security. yeah....” he finished lamely.

       —《 ⛧ 》 LYDIA WASN’T NOSY. this was a fact. they simply didn’t c a r e enough about the lives of others to butt their nose into other people’s business. they weren’t nosy, but they were determined. a quick glance as they passed by an empty classroom alerted lydia to the familiar figure occupying it, and they weren’t exactly above scoping out the competition. they doubled back, leaning against the door sill as they watched the boy huff and puff. ❝  having some trouble there, superstar ?? ❞

       —《 ⛧ 》RIDLEY ARCHED AN amused eyebrow at his sister. they hadn’t been studying for that long, but then again, if genesis was the heroic one then ridley was the studious one. he smiled, reaching over with his pen to scribble on the empty page of her open notebook. ❝ then you’d be almost twice as old as we are now. ❞ he paused for a second before continuing, small smile tilting into something teasing. ❝ maybe you should get some rest. sleep seventeen years and then i can finally be an only child. maybe i’ll get some peace and quiet for once. ❞
