After seeing his friends were nowhere in sight, Bruce looked up at the blude-haired stranger as she asked her questions. He did nod when she asked if he was hungry (he could go for something meaty right about now), and then the idea hit him; maybe she could help him find his friends! And they could all have meat together!

But when she mentioned letting him go back to napping, he shook his head to make her realize he didn't plan on going back to sleep. He had to find his friends!! And you're gonna help him whether you like it or not, Mari.

Using one of his paw-fins, he writes a set of words-- or, at least we think they are words, as it's all not exactly spelled well-- in the snow. Bruce wasn't literate, as one would expect, but he was only going off off of how the words sounded to him when his loved ones talked.

He looks up at Mari expectantly, hoping she gets the message. You'll help him find his friends, right?

ZAMITE OR NOT, THIS PECULIAR CREATURE had intrigued her so. It was true Mari had a big softspot for things cute and round (her seven downy crakes and her beloved pet sleeptoad, Ham, could attest to that,) but what had caught her attention was the little creature's apparent intelligence.

. . . Even if it wasn't intelligent, Mari could certainly sense some disappointment lingering off of it. It was as if it was expecting something . . . missing something, perhaps? The little whine confirms that much.

"Awwh, man. Are you hungry? Did you get lost?" She's spewing questions, though she didn't expect an answer. If this was a baby monster, it was best she didn't stick around . . . lest she invoke the anger of something much bigger than her.

"I'll let you get back to your nap, buddy. I'm sure your momma or whatever's on her way . . ."

okay but tbh I can see Ashy from reading his backstory and personality, he probably was at one time part of the Reaper's Bones, perhaps either by choice because of their sneaky deeds or by force due to family connections. Eventually turns away from it due to the outright murder and horrible acts the Reapers commit ( not to mention the whole skeletal curse that is not a fun thing to go through ) plus their desire to bring back and follow the war loving, worst Skeleton Lord, then eventually becomes a Bilge Rat // man for hire. And Bruce is just a cute lil guy that was found roaming the Seas 💜 just don't let Chi near him, they will steal the cute lil pup

@ashenwinds sent: Chi is just going to walk over and offer out a trophy sized fish to Bruce, " Come here little guy, got some extra fish if you want it~ " No they definitely did not show up simply to give food to the goodest boi.

"Rrrrr?" The little land shark pup looks up from curiously sniffing some periwinkles and seaweed on the beach (It seems he had wandered away from his owners yet again!) when he hears the faint sound of footsteps, combined with... bones clinking slightly?

Oh, a skeleton.

Seeing Chi doesn't phase or scare or unnerve him in the slightest (at least, not yet)... but once they bring out the very large fish and offer it? Bruce's tail immediately starts wagging and his eyes widen, especially once he gets a whiff of the big fish. He bet it tasted yummy! This was such a nice skeleton!

With little hesitation, he jumps up to grab the large fish, and quickly starts eating it, taking very big bites out of the thing (sometimes not even chewing, quite literally inhaling some of the chunks of fish like a vacuum). Mmmm, it was just as delicious as he thought it would be, too!

He is now the happiest land shark in the universe. Thanks, Mx. Skeleton!
