The Trump Administration's latest assault on wildlife has me feeling sick. It's increasingly difficult to feel any hope for endangered species or our environment. I'm not going to lie. Things are grim. But I find hope in action. Will you join me in supporting conservation personally, financially & politically? https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-019-02439-1

Enter Garden for Wildlife Photo Contest
I'm starting to get into photography, largely because it's such an incredible way to experience and document the natural world. Do you take pictures of the plants and animals in your yard or neighborhood? If you do, enter them into the National Wildlife Federation’s Garden for Wildlife Photo Contest. Here are last year's winners--one of which became the cover of my book! https://www.nwf.org/Garden-for-Wildlife/About/Photo-Contest

Ok, I'm not a Family Guy fan, but even I have to admit that sharing the screen with Brian and Stewie with the promo for my Conan appearance tonight is pretty cool.

Here's another pro-tip for helping wildlife in winter: put up a roosting box. Roosting boxes look like nesting boxes but have perches inside and hole at the bottom to conserve heat. Birds (and other critters) use the box to get out of the winter cold.
This is a great one from Woodlink, which is available at http://amzn.to/1fgNZ3G

I recently discovered the New York Times ScienceTake project, a series of one-minute videos reporting on the latest science on a variety of topics. The video below talks about new research that shows just how smart dolphins really are. The evidence shows that these animals have the very, very rare...
This is really amazing. New research shows that wild dolphins give each other names. Think about that. W

Awesome video of a sea otter playing with an elephant seal. So cute! But why do you think the otter ignores the harbor seals? Watch it on my Animal Oddities blog: http://bit.ly/17xsXYj
