Sick of the characters whose trauma makes them passive; whose insecurity makes them kind instead of selfish. Sick of characters who are only allowed to be flawed as long as it hurts only them and not others, and I’m especially sick of these characters in romantic narratives. Give me the characters who cope in destructive ways, whose trauma and insecurities are ugly and realistic and hateful. Give me characters who are REAL and flawed without immediately being villains.

I want to read and write about realistic characters whose flaws aren’t either romanticised to make them “sexy” or trivialised for the sake of making them palatable.

Writing is such bullshit because what do you mean I can write a weird fanfic but I can’t physically bring myself to write even one word of my novel. writers block needs to chill out!
