Tragically late for Natsume Week but here’s my submission for the Divinity prompt! Natsume really is the prettiest character of all time

I fell behind on @natsumeweek because life got to be a lot, but that’s okay. I’ll write the rest and just share them as I go. :)

Hugs/Happiness

Kitamoto hadn’t struck Natsume as a touchy-feely person when they’d first met. He was kind, but reserved — if Nishimura wasn’t in the picture. He saved his affection only for those he was closest with. 

Maybe that was why, when his friend pulled him in close after another frustrating yokai incident almost resulted in tragedy, he couldn’t help but melt into the embrace embarrassingly fast. Kitamoto was warm and solid, and Natsume felt safe within the circle of his arms. He could feel his heart pounding panic-fast against his own ribcage, but here, he could finally allow himself to relax.

Natsume Week, Day 7: Alternate Universe

You know I had to draw that warrior cats kittypets AU I talked about a few months back. its too good not to

I'm not gonna repeat all the Lore here because I am lazy. but my one addendum to it is that I think the youkai would be like wayward spirits of various animals that wander the forest that only certain cats can see, and the clan cats teamed up to combat them. the youkai go after nutmeg (natsume) because his mother (reiko) went around fighting a bunch of them for fun

Summary:

Legend has it that Natsume Takashi can see ghosts.

Legend also has it, though far lesser-known, that Natsume Takashi is a god—a legend so unheard of that not even Natsume himself knows, except in the deep of his subconscious and the deep of his dreams; except in a alternate reality parallel to his universe.

(In the deepest of his dreams, he dreams of a godlike figure, sometimes clad in dazzling gold robes and jeweled headgowns; sometimes in ominous white robes.

In his waking reality, the Dog’s Circle requests for him to partake in a god-summoning ceremony one day, and in the process, he gets kissed twice in a single day—the first time on his lips by a passing silver butterfly, and the second time on his fingertips by the long eyelashes of his dearest friend.)

Day seven: Alternate universe

Hace un tiempo empecé un fanfic que es AU crossover de NatsuYuu con Tales of Zestiria que además podría ser compatible con el final de ToZ (onda, sería AU para NatuYuu pero compatible con el canon en ToZ, o algo así). No he avanzado mucho, pero espero terminarlo... algún día. El tema es que amo mucho Zesty y fue tan hermoso descubrir que tiene muchas cosas en común con NatsuYuu. En el mundo de Zesty, Takashi sería alguien con una resonancia exageradamente alta y que para quiénes pueden ver serafines posiblemente lo confundirían con uno por su aspecto (pensando en el manga), aún así no se consideraría formalmente un Pastor y buscaría un camino propio. El dibujo es en su forma Armatus y estoy segura que después de volver a la normalidad se sentiría estúpidamente avergonzado por ese traje. Necesito continuar esto TAT Ay, hay más gente que les guste ToZ y NatsuYuu?

Nishimura being a hardcore Natori Shuuichi fan will never not be the funniest thing to me. You know he is constantly buying ridiculous merch and dealing intense psychic damage to Natsume every time

Here is the promised angst :) Ft two scenes from the beginning and end of my fic In the Dark, mostly cause I realised the visceral image of Tanuma hugging Natsume's bag was a) cool and b) technically fit this prompt in the most cruel way imaginable. but I wasn't so mean as to not include some actual hugs ;)

Day three: Discoveries No sabía qué hacer, así que revisitando capítulos pensé en la vez que vio por primera vez un dragón. SPOILERS, sentí que el descubrimiento de Natsume de un material hermoso para hacer un peine para su amigo yokai y el descubrimiento por parte de Chobi de que algo que no era valioso se volviera bello y un tesoro por un renovado significado se me hace cercano al prompt.

Disguises/Discoveries

“So you walked into a dangerous situation, without knowing anything except that someone might need help?”

Natsume can’t meet his eye, but at least he doesn’t bother trying to deny it. The boy looks ridiculous, draped in a luxurious silk kimono paired with the cheapest festival mask Natori’s ever seen. 

“What was the plan, if it was a trick and one of them tried to eat you?”

He mumbles something, cheeks flushing red, and Natori asks him to repeat himself.

“Someone already tried,” Natsume admits through gritted teeth. “That’s why I had to wear the mask.”

“Of course it is.”
