They all seem to take this better than she does. As expected, she’s the least energetic one in the group. Kobayashi may not have the best communication skills, but when it comes to business she’s willing to work in a group when she she has too. At least they both seem to be easy to get along with. The woman hoped that whatever survival skills they have together would get them out of this hell hole alive.
“Well…your weapons certainly look alot more interesting than…this” She presented to them her own “weapon”, which was a palm-sized rock. This is the weapon that best suited her? Really headmistress?
“Sounds to me like you two have much more experience in these sorts of things than I do. If I were to go alone in that maze I wouldn’t know what I’d do. I would be very grateful for your help.” The faintest of smiles graces her lips as she send a shy bow of sincere gratitude towards her teammates. Even though they are now just as powerless as she is, knowing that someone is on her side helped put her feel a little at ease.
The red-haired woman took a moment to scan their surroundings. This corridor is enough to give her the chills. How much more is she were to progress even deeper within?
“Everyone else has already started…We should probably get going too.” Kobayashi uttered. “So, uhh…Ruby and Caster, right?” She turns back to face her companions respectively.
“You guys, ready to go? Let’s all do our best.”
Ruby managed a smile at Caster’s words, nodding at his weapon. “Yeah, that’s the spirit! Anything is a weapon if you try hard enough!” She paused, then laughed sheepishly. “Probably anyway.” She had a feeling her own weapon wouldn’t get her very far though. Not to mention, why had she even been given something like that in the first place?
Well, there wasn’t anything she could do about it now. She’d just have to make due with what she had.
“I’m glad I’m not on my own either,” she admitted. “It’s always a lot easier working in a team, since I’m more used to it now. And I’m…pretty reckless on my own.” But she was looking forward to it, anyway. She was always at least a little excited at the promise of a fight. Maybe she was an adrenaline junkie…but then again, that sort of thing probably ran in the family, when she considered her sister was almost the same way.
“Yup, I’m ready!” A grin lit up her face and she nodded firmly. “Our team adventure begins now!”
“A rock? You could just hit someone over the head with it and they’d be done for, y’know?” He smiled warmly down at the girl who’d been appointed their leader. He wasn’t particularly thrilled about having to part with his staff but he supposed that having to deal with certain trials would be what made a school a school. Learn by doing and all that.
His gaze shifted between the two of them as they spoke, keeping that smile upon his lips. One that simply radiated pleasantness. He had no reason to feel unpleasant, after all! Despite the predicament they were in, he still found it invigorating to be around other people for a change! It beat having to sit in a dusty tower all day, of course. “Well, hopefully we make a good team then. I’m counting on you two!”
Merlin twirled the shoe about one finger slowly as he regarded the leader, tipping his head and nodding softly. “Of course. Show us the way, O Fearless Leader!” He chuckled lightly.

Kobayashi never believed in the existence of any divine entity. Cause if there are any, every human being would be living so much better lives right now. Kobayashi wouldn’t be caught up in this whole brew-ha-ha, and her other two companions wouldn’t be stuck having to follow around such a incompetent leader.
She’s ready to die now. Death can take her anytime…
But before that, the red head turns to face the man and the girl who’re assigned as her teammates. Both had their attention on her. Well…the role of team leader was forcibly thrust upon the salarywoman after all, they must be waiting for her to start making orders or something. Welp, better start introducing herself again…
“So, umm, Hi. I’m Kobayashi. Pleasure to be working with you…” She greeted. Still as awkward as ever.
“I’m just gonna go right ahead and jump straight to the point. I’m not the best fighter in the roaster, and I’m not exactly someone who’s leader material. But if there’s anything I can do to help, I’ll do my best.”
Usually, Ruby would have no problem adapting to such a strange situation. But without her trusty weapon, even her Semblance, she was without a lot of what made her such a good fighter. What was she even supposed to do with this so-called weapon anyway? She was pretty sure it didn’t even count as one! If only she had some of her bullets, at least, she was sure she’d be able to come up with some idea…
But she also wasn’t the leader in this situation, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t help out. In spite of the situation, she smiled. “I’m Ruby, nice to meet you.” She could understand being nervous–she was as well. After all, she had a hard time meeting others for the first time, but she was sure that things would be okay.
“That’s okay, I mean, I’m pretty strong. I’m a pretty good fighter with my usual weapon but..” she cast a glance down at the plastic prank toy. It really did look pretty real though… “But, um, anyway, I was a leader on a team in my homeworld so I’m happy to help out with making plans and stuff!” She was good at that, when she actually stopped to think.
After all, you couldn’t be reckless when working in a team.
“I think we’ll be fine! Probably.” She laughed sheepishly and rubbed the back of her neck. “But in any case, I’ll do whatever I can to help keep us safe, even if I don’t have Crescent Rose.”
“My, my. What an interesting group we have here!”
Merlin had a habit of doing things his own way, typically. He helped others when he thought they might need it, naturally, but should it go against the grain of fate? Well, he wasn’t particularly fond of going against fate in the least. That was treading on dangerous territory! Luckily, however, he hadn’t foreseen any of their downfalls. Not yet, at least. His fingers brushed gently across the high heeled show that he had within his hand, a lighthearted hum rising from his lips.
He was rubbing it in hopes that he might find who it belonged to. If he had taken a lover last night, he certainly didn’t remember her.
“I fear I’m not the best fighter either. Especially not without a weapon. Then again, I suppose a high heeled show works well enough as a weapon, yeah? I could just club something in the eye or something, y’know?” He chuckled a bit. If he was bothered by the fact that he wasn’t a good fighter, it certainly didn’t how. “You can call me Caster. I’m at your service! It’ll be enlightening to see what kind of things you all can achieve during this trial! At least, I assume that’s what this is.”

mvchant replied to your post: “Hmmm. A high heeled shoe? I don’t remember having...
“It’s a lot more fun if you do remember, usually…”
“Quite correct! Then again, I didn’t intoxicate myself with anything so perhaps someone simply lost a shoe outside my room!”

Lifting an arm past him as he’s at least got the sense to shift out of the way, she hesitates as her fingers land on the spine of a runes book. Of the responses she’d been expecting, some manner of sheepishness at being called out had been high on the list. His reply, however, leaves her gawking momentarily, feeling the heat rise in her face. Oh good lord, he just said that.
“…right. Uh– Caster’s… what? Not your actual name, I hope t’ th’ good Lord,” she replies, pretending she wasn’t just the slightest bit amused by the choice of phrasing (on top of the mild embarrassment). “An’ I ain’t too sure that kinda interactive’s appropriate for a library of all places, so. Options’re a little limited for ya, I’m afraid– so my lovely face’ll have t’ do.” It’s hard not to roll her eyes, if only because she’s certain what he’s saying is more habit than anything. “What’re you lookin’ up, anyway? Nothin’ untoward, I hope?”
The red that dusted her cheeks was something he prided himself on. After all, knowing that his words had such an effect on such a beautiful woman felt quite nice! He was also more than happy to make the woman feel good about herself, if that was what he was doing. He hoped that was the case, anyway! If not, it would turn out to be rather counterproductive. He gave a soft little hum.
“I suppose you could say that I’m like a...superhero! My true identity needs to remain a secret.” He smiled warmly, seeming to not be lying or, at the very least, didn’t seem to think he was. He wasn’t, necessarily. “Hmm? There’s a difference between what’s appropriate and what’s fun. Trying to stay quite during such activities can be quite amusing in and of itself.”
He hummed lightly, glancing at the various books he’d stacked up on the nearby table. They were a variety of things, mostly regarding the history of this place as well as magic in general. He was interested to see what they had to say about other types of magic. Especially amusing because they’d brought him here as a student of all things. “Oh, this and that. Being essentially dead to the world for a thousand years sets you back on your reading a bit, y’know? I’d like to get as much reading in as I can before I’m whisked away back to my...residence.”

Great– succubus in one class and an incubus in the library; this just kept getting better and better. At the very least, she realized as she moved closer, the incubus was less an incubus and more of a cambion which, in her opinion, was far more palatable. After all, one didn’t simply become half-demon, and the lack of choice was something she could make allowances for. Or, she would have, had the immediate dropping of his gaze as she asked him to pardon her so she could reach a shelf past him not made her want to roll her eyes at him.
“Hey,” she begins, and adds a low whistle when that doesn’t draw his eyes upward. “Th’ part’a me that’s interactive’s up here, smart guy.”
He’d plucked a small stack of books from the shelves. There were so many here, after all! It was only natural that he try to get as much reading in as he could. However, he blinked softly when he heard a voice from behind, form shifting to let her pass but soon finding his eyes locked upon her bosom. Well, those were quite nice! There was a brief pause when she spoke, shifting his gaze slowly up toward his face and offering a bright smile.
“You realize that any body part is interactive with the right mindset! Though I will admit that you have a lovely face to go with the equally lovely body! You’re quite the woman.” He said, offering her a warm smile and gently setting his books to one side, a light hum rising from his lips. He gently bowed his head and held out a hand for her own. “My apologies, miss. I’m simply enamored by you! You can call me...Caster.”
