Stepped out of the shower to find Bri nursing Finn like this. Can’t believe she’s already 7 weeks old...

Bri in a rug store in the Souk of Marrakech. We ended up buying the rug the man is kneeling on, and it’s in our kitchen now. Watching his assistant fold and tie it up in a nylon sack was pretty amazing. To ensure the tape held, he got out a large needle and twine and sowed the whole thing shut. Of course, coming back into the states customs had to have thought it was a brick of drugs, so they carelessly cut and ripped it open. Still, it was incredible to watch so much time and effort be spent on something that was soon to be destroyed.

Some more shots from the hike up Whitney back in June.
We left our hotel in Lone Pine at 1:45am for a 2:30am trail start. The sun popped up about 30 minutes before we hit trail camp where we refilled our water and talked about the thick layer of clouds up near the summit. The forecast called for rain around 1:30pm, and we would be summiting well before that so we didn’t think we had anything to worry about. About half way up the switchbacks snow started spitting on us, though it wasn’t quite sticking yet. We had read the cables were still locked in ice, so we brought crampons with us which proved invaluable, because the skies opened up and we soon found ourselves in a near white out. By the time we reached trail crest, I couldn’t see more then 30 feet in front of me and the wind was blowing sideways. We sheltered under some rocks for bit to let everyone catch up, then continued towards the summit. The last 2 miles of the hike felt like 20 and I almost gave up a million times. Seeing the cabin a the top was one of the greatest reliefs I’ve ever felt.

Dane at around 13,800 feet on Mt. Whitney, June 12, 2015. There was a chance of rain at the summit in the afternoon, but some ice and snow on the trail the day before we made the climb. Luckily Dane talked us into grabbing crampons, because just above 12,000 feet we were suddenly in a white out.

Bri//Ftelia Beach, Mykonos
The woman at the front desk of our hotel told us not many tourist make it out to the north shore of the island, choosing to stick to Mykonos Town, Paradise Beach, Ornos Beach in the south. So, we rented a quad and went to her favorite spot: Ftelia. It was about 25 minutes away through winding farm roads lined with stack rock walls and one room churches. There is a restaurant at the west end of the beach that serves some pretty good pizza, which we ate along with a couple tall Alphas.

3 days in Tahoe. The weather went from sunny and hot, to crazy thunderstorms, then back to sunny and hot with thick blankets of smoke blowing in from as far away as Oregon.
