you donât really realize how awesome huge fuckoff intricate medieval tapestries are until you see one in person and then youâre like âoh yeah this beats Netflixâ
#unfortunately i was about 9 years old when I saw the Bayeux irl#so it was VERY COOL for about 5 minutes and then was the worsr experience of my life the other half hour#which was all my childhood museum experiences because my parents are the âstop and look at everything for 10 minsâ people#which i now also am#but as an unmedicated undiagnosed adhd child#i was both in awe of art and also unable to keep that awe up for more than a minute for each piece#i did get a poster of one of the sections though and kept it for a decade until it crumbled to dust

What combination of issues is it that my mother compared me to someone on tv who looked like me in generic terms (short brown hair, glasses, was wearing a button down) but otherwise didnât actually look like me and I became mortified at being compared to them (not in a âthey were uglyâ way but in a âhow on earth do you think thatâ way) and then because I was not Happy about said comparison my mum got upset ? Because itâs sure something
