I started following you after I saw your post about Julian being really intelligent and I couldn’t have agreed with you more! So, I’d own my life to you if you’d be willing to write that MC has this ridiculous fear of bacteria and washes her hands way too often. MC tries to hide it but Julian eventually catches their hands and even then MC tries to hide the fact but Julian pushes it and figures it out. I’m so sorry if this is too weird, it’s totally up to you if you even want to write this!

I do not believe that your request is weird at all, so be sure that this is not the reason it took me so long to answer! I had some things going on offline.

For what I get this MC is germophobic, but since I am none I hope I managed to portray this situation at it's best! I choose a mild level of germophobia since I heard of people that get so distressed by the idea of germs that their whole routine is fucked up. I hope you'll enjoy it!

 Julian might seem like someone that is constantly with his head in the clouds, but his eyes caught all her movements

It has been a while since he noticed all that little gestures that she does almost mindlessly, such as always cleaning her hands few times in an hour, or carrying a handkerchief to use when she has to open handles

as a doctor himself, he is very careful about his hygiene, and since the Red Plague, he is even more attentive, but still, her routine really struck him

One day, while walking into the bathroom, catches her scrubbing her hands pretty strongly, in an almost obsessive way

He walks in, almost worried that she might be hurt

"MC what is happening?!"

He sees her eyes enlarging, and her head shrinking between her shoulders as she turns, hiding her hands in a towel, but this time he is not going to ignore it

He walks by her and tries to take her hands, only to step back when he sees her so distressed.

"Love, please... tell me what is wrong"

As soon as he notices tears of embarrassment rolling down her cheeks he feels his heart sink, but he knows he needs to be stronger for her

He wraps his arms around her smaller frame, holding her close, his face buried in her hair, whispering soft and calming words in her ear, waiting patiently for his beloved wife to calm down.

After both of them cools down, he starts to listen to her, about how embarrassed she was of her fear of germs, about how people often made fun of her, and how about, especially after the Red Plague, she is so scared of catching something or having him get sick

He cups her face lovingly, covering her cheeks and lips with soft kisses, to dry the tears, and he starts to explain that is perfectly normal to be a bit scared or repulsed by germs, and that there is nothing to be embarrassed about, but he doesn't want her to be always this scared

"We punched the Red Plague, remember? I mean, the goatman. Well, the same thing. I punched him and the Red Plague away. Nothing will ever hurt you anymore, I promise"

He decides to try to make their house a safer and more comfortable environment for her while she outgrows her fear, by  being a bit more careful about cleaning, helping even more with house chores, trying his best to see her calmer and happier

"This floor will be so sterilized that I could operate someone on it"

I am finally back! I know, I took a huuuuuuuuuge break from Tumblr, mostly because I was artistically drained. I had so much up my mind, but now I feel ready to come back here! I am working on the three HC requests that I have in my Inbox, and I will re-open commissions soon!

This is so painfully true.

Aromantics are seen as a small minority, and the majority of alloromantics sees aromanticism as the devil. Therefore, we are such a small and undesirable portion that no one cares about loosing our money/comments/views.

I once happened to write a Dragon Ball fanfiction, not too long ago, and I created an Aro character. Three chapters later (this means I still was fully SETTING my story, barely introducing the first narrative arch), my character barely interacted with the main characters, and every, I swear, every comment I received was about how people were disappointed by the way my OC was interacting with a married character (I am talking about Bardok). Because my character being cold, distant, but respectful, to my followers meant that I was going to disrupt the canon marriage and make this two character have a romantic relationship. That left me pretty discouraged and made me suspend the writing.

People, especially in the fanfiction community, seems to only look after romantic relationship. They saw romanticism in two character collaborating FOR WORK. They wanted to see romanticism in two characters arguing. They wanted to see romanticism in two characters that never, ever showed the slight sexual attraction or romantic interest. They saw romanticism in my character, that is ready to let Bardok die without blinking an eye.

I also wrote fanfictions with romantic relationships, because in those the romantic relationship had his reason.

And surprise, the only "backlash" I ever received was when I wrote a strong, independant, aromantic woman working with a man.

As both a life-long writer and avid consumer of stories, there are a whole host of things I could talk about regarding aromanticism and fiction. I could talk about the (admittedly limited) characters and stories that have meant a lot to me, or what I would like to see in fiction, or my own creative process as an aromantic creator. But what I would like to focus on is the way aromanticism is portrayed in fiction and media, both explicitly and implicitly, as well as the need for aromantic narratives as told by aromantic people, rather than by outsiders seeking to commodify our experiences for diversity points (and often doing so disrespectfully).

hey so uhhh here’s an important update on what’s apparently happening at the border, especially with the use of the old japanese internment camps

all i can say is i’m sickened by this mess, by the atrocities committed against innocent people. and now there will be no surveillance. no one will be able to see what happens to these people. the UN, the media, and any other human rights organizations cannot get into these facilities, either, in order to stop what’s happening. by the way, coast guard members were apparently aiding in this process as well. so now it’s only a matter of time before it becomes a military movement.

no one gets in. no one gets out.

so when are we going to call this what it is? it’s fascism. it’s genocide. and if we don’t stop it now, it’s going to be disastrous.

Meet the Mona Lisa of the Prado, the earliest known copy of Da Vinci’s best portrait. Similarity in the undersketch of the painting indicates that this was very likely painted concurrently with the original Mona Lisa, by a student of Da Vinci.

There is much controversy in the art world over the question of whether or not to clean the fragile Mona Lisa, but her sister has been restored and some fairly odd later alterations removed to show the original vibrant colors and lighting. Some details, such as the sheerness of her shawl and the pattern on the neckline of her dress, have become utterly obscured in the original, but in the restored copy they’re perfectly clear.

It blows my mind a little bit to look at these two sisters side-by-side and imagine how much vivid detail could be hiding in the Mona Lisa under 500 years of rotten varnish.
