i cried a lot tonight..

first off, black lives matter... my life matters. the continued struggle that we as black people face in this country is unparalleled and the fight does not stop.. EVER... This year taught me a lot about who i am and who i want to become. This year, i cried SO fucking much. This year, i bought my first car. This year, i had a severe allergic reaction to the point of hallucination. This year, i graduated. This year, i fucked up hard and i’m trying to become a better person. This year, i played and created some beautiful music. This year, i lost myself... and as of now, i’m still finding myself.. This year was the most confident i’ve ever felt in my entire life... This year was the year of the unexpected... This year was the year of big ups and big downs.. but all in all, i am blessed and grateful for this year. i’ve learned so much and have grown so much and i will continue to grow amidst all of the shittiness... Please be kind and patient to each other. EVERYONE IS GOING THRU IT. I’m sending my love to each and everyone of you 🧡 You got this. We got this. My mantra to end this year off is: i am in love with who i am becoming ❤️ I hope this can help someone. Even the peaceful protest violin vigil turned into another act of police brutality... Sometimes I can't even sleep at night because what could happen to me just because of my skin color. There is a revolution happening right now and now is the time to act. Keep protesting, keep sharing black stories, keep talking about the movement, keep donating, keep buying from black owned businesses, keep standing up and for justice. There is no rest. The fight will continue. We need to come together... We have the power... I'm tired. I don't even feel the need to post sometimes because I just don't get it. ✨Live n' Learn✨ I thought I was graduating this semester but a couple weeks ago I found out that I needed 2 more credits in English to graduate... Actually, I didn't find out... I've known about this and thought that I got it resolved but didnt.... One of my weaknesses is putting things off. I almost didn't want to post about it because I felt embarrassed... but I want to be vunerable and grow from this instead of let it take me down. English has always been my weakest subject and it's kinda ironic that it would be the last class I have to take before I graduate. It feels like I have to prove something to myself. I'm viewing this as an opportunity to improve my writing skills because I definitely feel that I lack in that area. I've learned a lot this year about me and I keep learning more. I'm thankful for this opportunity and excited that I'll be finished with college after 8 years of going thru it. It has been a long journey but I can honestly look back and say that I've changed so much and I'm proud of myself for getting this far. I'll be a first generation graduate and the first out of my siblings to graduate pursuing something that is my life; music. 🎶 I graduated from the music program this semester and looking back at when I started, I have grown SO MUCH as a musician and also as a person. I can say that I've experienced beautiful moments at Metro and I'm so blessed to have established important relationships with my professors, mentors, private instructors, and peers. It's been one hell of a ride. ...
