POV you’re watching Jayce and Viktor give their science presentation but one of them clearly pulled an all nighter

The casual intimacy of the Silco/Vander jackets scene makes me feel like they were the type to share a bed when the nights were too cold, and blankets too sparse. Like they were the type to be all up in each other’s business, speaking on each other’s behalf, fighting on each other’s behalf.

Like they were the type to offer each other casual touch and affection, when it was so hard for them to give to others. Vander silently grabbing a comb to brush through Silco’s hair, Silco wordlessly applying polish to Vander’s gauntlets.

I don’t know why the scene hit me so profoundly, but it did. Maybe it’s because there’s a level of intimacy needed in order to so casually hang your coat within another’s. You need to be trusting of the other person’s level of cleanliness, first off, to assume your own clothes won’t pick up some dirt, or a foul smell. And there’s the fact that a scent is likely to be picked up- Silco’s jacket then would smell like Vander, and Vander’s would smell like Silco. Whatever cologne or body wash or personal BO they had must’ve been strong enough to linger, given how Jinx tried sniffing their coats, even after all the years.

It also shows the heartbreaking layer of trust that Silco had for Vander. To slip his jacket into Vander’s, like a physical reminder that Vander was his protector. That he knew he was smaller and weaker but also knew that Vander would never hurt him.

Until he did, anyway. Despite how casually intimate they were, despite how trusting, how intertwined.

No wonder Silco went a little insane. Came back a little demented. Hell, I’d burn the world too if I were in his shoes.

I think the most heartbreaking thing about arcane is that there is CANONICALLY a universe where everyone lives, everyone is happy and everything is undeniably better, for everyone- its the only thing vi’s ever wanted. For her family to be whole and thriving, but she isnt there to see it because she died. Everything she ever wanted and she’ll never know. Devastating

What I liked best about Jinx and Sevika's first post-Silco talk was how well it implies why their grief is so pronounced. Every complaint the two lodged at Silco was an admission at how dependent Silco had become on them, how much he LET himself be dependent. Silco didn't NEED to let Jinx give him his eye medicine, he was perfectly capable of doing so in season one's first act. The same could be said about Sevika, because while it wasn't nearly as extreme as with Jinx, he didn't need to give her so much responsibility. Frankly it's dangerous for a kingpin to give their righthand so much power (it's supposed to be spread around), and everyone noticed, even idiots like Finn.

That's why their loss is so pronounced, in all the years they dedicated to Silco, he gave up just as much of himself to them. Silco weakened himself and trusted Sevika and Jinx to make up for it. They filled eachother out, they needed eachother, and without him there's just a hole what they all used to give eachother.

There's something I've just realised with how Jinx, Isha, and Sevika communicate with each other.

None of them have to actually say words to each other, because they understand what the others saying through body language and looks.

Sevika and Jinx fight seamlessly alongside each other without calling out to each other.

The way they bicker without uttering a word, for example, when Sevika fully takes stock of how her arm look or when the music starts blasting and Jinx just responds with a shrug or a little dance.

Jinx thanked Isha by doing the finger gun towards her and Isha, understanding instantly that it was acknowledgement.

Jinx instructs Sevika on how to operate her new arm by just indicating the motion.

I love dynamics like this because it just shows the level of trust that all three have in each other, even though they know nothing about each other.

Jinx has been isolated from others for the past eight years, Silco has had Sevika work like a horse and, too frustrated with Jinx to really get to know her, and Isha is a new addition and non-verbal. But they still worked together perfectly.
