A chance conversation at an airport with someone who worked at ESA sparked a link-up between ESA and the German DJ and producer Lilly Palmer, who is a rising star on the global techno scene.

The first fruit of this collaboration was a DJ set livestreamed (october 2022) by Lilly from the Hertz chamber at ESA’s testing facility ESTEC in the Netherlands. Hertz is usually used to test satellites and spacecraft, so it provided a striking technological backdrop for Lilly Palmer’s futuristic style of techno. (Cosmic Sounds, 20/07/2023, ESA website)
