Giving detailed context to your astrologer is about 2 things:
1st - Respecting the artist. It's about respecting the worker who's offering you a service. If you don't give enough context and aren't engaged, you'll give the astrologer an exhausting amount of work, making them waste their time and neurons trying to guess things that you could've just told them, when they could be focusing their energy on predicting things that you don't know yet, which is the point of the oracle. If you want them to guess about both, you should be paying a good extra. If you want to test if astrology is real, then study it, don't waste anyone's time.
2nd - Respecting the art. If you want the astrologer to guess things about your life, you're just there to test a belief and that might not be helpful at all, because the stars can't be specific, but the astrologer can if you give them context. They'll be able to link what you're describing about your past to specific astrological cycles and then just follow where the planets lead to be able to tell the future.

Hello!
My question is will I get the job?
November 7, 2024
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
5:09PM
Thanks!
Hey!
Sorry if i am answering this question too late. It took me a little while to be able to get around to looking at the chart.
Tumblr media
Looking at the chart that you cast, the answer looks like no. The fact that your significator (venus) has separated from a square to saturn (lord of the 10th house and the significator of the job) makes me wonder how much you wanted this job in the first place, since it looks like youre the one walking away. Both of the luminaries have also separated from aspects to saturn. That also indicates that you might not start this job.
However, the moon conjunct the midheaven is an indication that you could get it. But it looks like it would come with challenges. Im not sure if you would have to move for the job, but it looks like a possibility. The moon is lord of the 4th house of home, and it is in detriment and conjunct pluto right on the midheaven. It is also applying to an opposition to Mars in the 4th, which will perfect very quickly once it changes signs. This opposition is worrisome and looks like there will be issues regarding your home, or possibly a relationship/partner, because Mars is lord of the 7th house.
To me, it looks like if you get the job, there will be issues relating to your home, family, or relationship. But it looks more likely that you pass on the job precisely because of those issues arising in the first place. If the moon were applying to aspect saturn I would be inclined to think these issues would push you towards accepting the job but because she is separating and moving into a sign where she doesn't see saturn I would have to think the opposite occurs.

Hey, my question is career related.
I would like to know if I will make it in the arts field either as an artist or as a writer?
Thank you for providing this opportunity! :)
Hey, let's take a look at the chart!
Tumblr media
There are a couple things to consider here:
Your significator, the 10th house of career and its significator, and the luminaries.
First, you are mercury in sagittarius.
Mercury is angular, indicating that it has strength to act, but he is undignified and in detriment. This is likely showing that your abilities might need more polishing. He is also besieged by the malefics (separating from a trine to Mars and applying a square to saturn). Traditionally, this is seen as being surrounded by hostile forces. This could indicate that there are things in your life, like your environment, the people you associate with, and your general situation, that are holding you back and enabling you from achieving your goals. It's like being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
But because mercury is applying to square both saturn and the mid heaven this could show that you are going to be shifting your focus towards working hard on your more long term career goals and your artistic skills (since saturn is the exaltation ruler of the 5th house of creativity). Squares are not alway easy, but they can be the catalyst for lots of growth when used correctly. Mercury will also be going retrograde on november 25th, and that would be a great time to go back and polish any skills/plans that you may have overlooked.
Mercury in a fire sign indicates quick thinking, sharp wit, and humor. But in saggitarius he is a bit scattered and unfocused and tends to conceptualize more big picture thinking rather than attention to detail. In regards to your writing this shows that you are passionate and have lots of ideas but may benefit from a critique partner or editor.
Pisces in the tenth house is a lovely sign for those who pursue a creative career. The chart also has saturn in pisces conjunct the midheaven (angle of career and reputation). Which, in this instance can be another positive indicator of an artistic career because saturn is one of the rulers of the 5th house of creativity. However, saturn is a superior malefic and slow-moving planet that rules responsibility, hard work, and restrictions. This is an indication that there will likely be some obstacles that can cause delays in regard to your art career.
Things of saturnian nature usually take longer to manifest and require a lot of strength, durability, and hard work. (Side note: this can show that your art is saturnian in nature and can lean towards the darker side with a focus on form.)
The lord of the tenth house is jupiter located in the first house of the querent (you). This is a positive indication of success in matters of career, but jupiter here is in detriment and retrograde, which puts the quality of that success into question. The opposition between jupiter and venus shows that there might've been an overindulgence or lack of balance that dominated your focus and possibly hindered your progress. It seems like a possible lack of balance between taking action/working hard and pleasurable pursuits like relationships. This can be an indication that you are focuing more on others rather than yourself. (this is very hard to say since i am doing the reading without any context so i dont know whether you are in a relationship or have children, both things are related to the fifth house and venus along with creativity. But because both venus and Mercury are in the 7th house, i could guess this was a relationship or partnership of some sort. Its not necessarily a bad thing and could still contribute towards your creativity but generally too much of a good thing can still cause harm, which seems like it could be the case here because the south node is close to the 5th cusp.)
The sun is cadent and below the horizon. This could indicate that it will be hard to build your community in order to be seen as an artist/writer. But not impossible, since he is trining the Mid heaven and saturn as well as sextiling the moon. I think with some time and hard work, you can build a dedicated base of people who enjoy your creative pursuits and will be willing to invest in you as an artist.
Overall, i see that you are a very creative and passionate person with a lot of potential. There are some obstacles in your way that may make it somewhat difficult to create a successful art career, but not impossible. The chart doesn't guarantee you a successful art career, but it also doesn't deny you one. Horary isn't just a tool to see what will happen in the future. It can also be used to help guide you towards your goals and see what challenges you may have to face.

The thing about prediction is that it's hard af. Sometimes, things look murky, and even the best astrologers will get things wrong. At the end of the day, we're all fallable, and human error should always be taken into consideration. But the astrology itself is never wrong. Just know that when you see the entire astro community disagreeing with each other on a certain outcome, take everything with a grain of salt.

in the world of the occult, if gonzo is a wizard, what would kermit be?
Kermit would be a perennial syncretic, but like the one the Renaissance ones. He'd be Agrippa.

Anyone else really feeling this scorpio new moon? Woke up today and immediately had an existential crisis just to realize the moon had just perfected its conjunction while culminating where im at. I've been spiraling a bit and contemplating hell all day, and now i just want to take a nap. Im not usually one for astrological cliches, but i can't seem to help it today.

The idea of "Dominant" Planets
If you really need something like a "dominant" planet there's a better technique than the calculations you see on astrology websites. The Lord of Geniture is very assertive and a better option, because the idea is exactly that it's supposed to be the strongest planet in you chart, by essential dignity and general condition. I've learned this technique from one of my teachers Letícia. Sometimes it's pretty easy to identify the Lord of Geniture, but some charts are more difficult, especially those that don't have planets in domicile or have a lot of them. I'll show you three examples with different levels of difficulty.
Franco Basaglia
Tumblr media
Basaglia had Jupiter and Venus in domicile, then Mars and the Moon in exaltation. So this is 4 candidates. Let's consider what each of them got going for themselves.
Here Jupiter has domicile, triplicity, with an aspect with reception to the Sun, a trine to the ascendant and he's in sect.
Venus is also in domicile, triplicity, she's in her own terms and she has angularity being on the 10th with the MC.
The Moon is exalted, she also has triplicity, angularity in the 10th and she's co-present with her dispositor.
Mars is exalted, it has triplicity, he's in his house of joy, makes a sextile with mutual reception to Saturn and makes a trine to a benefic.
Now, let's consider what each of them have as an affliction, because that will help us eliminate some options.
Jupiter doesn't seem to be affected by anything, he's chill and can't see either of the malefics.
Venus on the other hand is besieged by the malefics, coming from an opposition to Saturn and going towards a trine to Mars. She's also out of sect.
Mars makes an aspect to Saturn and he's also out of sect.
The Moon is out of sect too, but she doesn't have any affliction, except if you consider Algol to be an affliction.
From this we can eliminate Venus and Mars. And a tiebreaker method to decide between the Moon and Jupiter is to consider the winner the one that's angular, and that would be the Moon. I already mentioned his Moon and how obvious it is in his life on my post about Algol.
Ariana Grande
Tumblr media
In Ariana Grande's chart, no planet other than Venus has essential dignity. But she also makes it extra obvious, because she's in her house of joy, in sect and she has a trine to the ascendant, which is on her terms on a sign of her triplicity. She also rules the 10th and the Lot of Fortune. And we know the thing about Grande is that she's a very prolific artist.
Kendrick Lamar
Tumblr media
You can't decice this one at just a glance. Mercury seems to be the only candidate, because he's in his own terms and decan. He makes a good aspect to his own dispositor (the Moon), even though it's from his fall. He's with the Lot fo Fortune in the 10th house.
But if you look closer, you see that the Sun could also be a candidate, because at least it's in its own decan and house of joy, the 9th. It makes a sextile to Jupiter, who is in the Sun's exaltation. The problem is the opposition with Saturn and he can't even see his own dispositor.
Jupiter is very strong and angular, with a good reception with Mars, but it's still a square and it doesn't have any strong essential dignity.
The better candidate is still Mercury, even if it's with Mars. Some destinies are just harsher and Mercury with Mars makes more sense for such an intelligent person and a rapper.
Obviously a chart can't be reduced to the Lord of Geniture and most times it will have other less obvious planets that are extremely important, like Ariana's Mercury for example, or Kendrick's Venus with Aldebaran, and his Mars as well. But usually, the Lord of Geniture is a planet that's screaming its significations and it's one of the first things you notice about the person's life.

Astro observations are so funny cause you can tell when certain "notes" are just vent sessions about specific people with random placements slapped on the title.
You didn't "observe" anything, you're just mad at a specific Scorpio Venus.

About me:
I've been a student of traditional reneissance astrology for the last 4 years and have recently shifted towards focusing mainly on the practice of horary astrology.
I decided to start this blog to further my practice and gain access to more charts. So please feel free to ask me questions so that i can test out my skills. Not everything will be about horary specifically, and i will probably post lots of think pieces (aka rants) about general astrology as well.
What is horary astrology:
Horary is a branch of traditional astrology that focuses on answering questions. It closely resembles other divinatory practices like geomancy, and to an extent tarot, since the goal is to supply someone with answers to their questions, and/or guidance on how to deal with a situation, based on the cosmological pattern of the moment a question is asked.
Questions:
Questions should be personally related to the querent (the person asking the question). Asking about random things that you have no stake in or will not affect you directly in any way is discouraged, as the further you are from the situation, the harder the chart will be to read. This doesn't mean that you can't ask questions about/for people that you are close with, like a parent, sibling, partner, or friend. But please no questions about your friends mothers neighbors affairs. Or whether certain celebrities are dating or not.
The querent should also be very aware of what it is that they are actually asking. The phrasing of questions can heavily influence how the astrologer will interpret the chart.
Examples:
Will i get the job offer?
Should i buy this house?
Is this business deal going to work in my favor?
Where did i leave my keys?
Is my partner having an affair?
Do i have a chance with this person?
Will a relationship develop between me and blank?
Will my partner ask me to marry them?
Will my boss aprrove of the raise that i asked for?
Will i win this court case?
Should i hire blank to work with/for me?
Will i find my missing pet?
What happened to my missing pet?
Disclaimers:
I am not currently working as a professional astrologer and am doing this in my free time as some extra practice. Therefore, I probably won't be able to answer every question i receive. I also reserve the right to pick which queries i want to spend my time on.
Also, please do not ask me any health related questions. I will not answer anything about illnesses, recoveries, pregnancies, death, etc.
IMPORTANT:
I would really appreciate it if the people i answer questions for could come back and tell me whether my interpretation was correct or not. This is an important part of practicing horary so that the astrologer can learn through experience and practice, what can't be taught solely through books.
