Some RoyEd + kid sketch.

Her name is Mae, after Maes Hughes. Diane Mae Mustang-Elric on paper, but she prefer Mae. Roy wonders if it’s a blessing or a curse that Hohenheim’s gene is so dominant, the kid hardly resembles him, but bares the trademark Elric golden hair and eyes. Oh well, he’d take consolation that the sharpness of her eyes takes after him more than Ed’s.

Fuhrer Mustang tries as hard as he can to spend time with his family, but being the head of a State (especially a recently unstable one) is demanding. Ed is not all too happy about it. He has had enough experience with an absence father.

(Roy is around 42-45 here and Ed’s 27ish; only because I think that’s the earliest Roy could take office)

Sometimes I think that before getting married, Ed didn't really think of taking Roy's name as an issue- or that he doesn't really want to make a fuss of having 'Mustang' etched into his mailbox placate. (They are living together already so what's the issue?)

But then he wasn't really expecting anything either, when they were filling out their marriage paperwork and there it is, written Elric-Mustang instead of General's family name replacing it entirely.

"It's a gift from your late mother and I have no right nor the intention on taking it away." And Edward just cry

Post BH, Roy's in East City for work, and stops by Resembool to visit a certain retired state alchemist for the first time in God knows how long. He didn't expect Ed to be divorced. He also didn't expect Ed to look at his mouth like That.

I sketched this as an option for a zine over two years ago, and ultimately did nothing with it. Until randomly deciding to finish it :) The last pic is the original sketch, and the one prior is,, me wondering how many chickens is too many chickens,,
