This story is about Papa Panov, the town's widowed cobbler and his Christmas Day.

The story takes place on Christmas, when Papa Panov has a dream in which Jesus promised to visit him. So, the next day, on Christmas, Papa Panov waits for Jesus to come to his house and all day long he helps many people, but even though he has helped people, he does not manage to see Jesus. Incredibly, when he goes to sleep, something appears in his room, and then Papa Panov realizes that Jesus has finally visited him.

In my opinion I found the story very beautiful, I think that the message of the story can be told to children, because the story tells us that Christmas is not about receiving material gifts, and that it is better to help others.

“The Kingdom That Failed” By Haruki Murakami

This short story tells of a man who sees someone he used to know (and admire) and observes the man as he remembers how he used to be.

Sadly Q had never realized who the man was, and then he left.

We rely on our friends for day-to-day needs, but when we lose sight of them we tend to forget them. These friendships that seem to die out at the drop of a hat. And we make new friends along life's journey.

I think the way the story is presented in the text is so beautiful, compact and spot on for me, that I couldn't resist delving into it. The fact that it is a very human story, I mean we all have been Q's or have had many Q's in our life. We have all felt inferior to someone or lost touch with someone we thought was important or "deified" someone.

That a text gives you instructions on how to climb a staircase seems to be something quite absurd, however, I think that if there were instructions to perform such everyday things, the tasks that are always presented to you as "simple" even if we do not have the skills to do it, would be really simple. When you learn to fry an egg nobody celebrates it, but there are some people with very few cooking skills, so few, that if the egg is complete when you finish frying it, you feel like a real chef. In other words, if I had been taught to fry the egg following instructions, it would have always been perfect, maybe no one would celebrate it, but you definitely wouldn't feel like a failure when you didn't make it, you could blame it on not having followed the instructions.

In my opinion I think it was very wrong what the truck drivers did, since they were selfish and did not think about the people who would be affected by blocking the roads. I am also surprised with the news, because I cannot understand how there are people who support Bolsonaro and his political ideology.

LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT

This is a letter written by Annie Ernaux to the President of France about the aftermath of Covid, and how "normal" people are really affected.

This letter is like a wake-up call to the president. Using writing as a form of protest. Showing her ( and people's) discontent and demanding that people's rights be respected.

In my opinion, I have mixed feelings, as I think there is nothing more beautiful than showing how you feel in this way. She using her talent and power to assert what people were feeling at the time, as they were not being heard. But I find it horrible that a Nobel prize winner had to write to the president so that he would pay attention to what "normal" people were going through at that time.

It makes me think of the disconnect between the government and the people in the face of a crisis of such magnitude.

And surprisingly, the dogs were able to detect everything.

Thanks to this article, I now know that my dog can sense or detect when I am sad, stressed or angry, and that is something that is amazing to me.
