Colorism Pt 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before I begin, I want to explain what colorism is to those who genuinely don’t know. Colorism is discrimination based on skin color/tone, typically shared among people of the same race/ethnicity.

And Young Thug Posted...
BTW that message wasn't to all my black women…… it was to those two black burnt women — Young Thug ひ (@youngthug) December 8, 2016
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I didn't write this post because I saw entertainers trashing black women for their physical attributes and because they used common stereotypes against them like 'dark women have worst credit than lights'. I wrote it because colorism is a BIG ISSUE that keeps popping up that darker skinned people are less intelligent, least likely to get jobs or have occupations of the lower status, smaller chances of having successful relationships/marriage, tend to struggle more from depression, leaders in substance abuse, and are generally more likely to have a fucked up life. While, of course, the lighter skinned counterparts with more acceptable hair textures, thinner noses, lighter eyes, and more so called "European features" tend to have the exact opposite, due to them being associated with beauty, intelligence, education, being more economically stable, trustworthy, less fearful of, and overall given better opportunities, resulting in a better life. But colorism is bias, because it is based off of prejudice views an individual has for their race purely off of their skin tone. Pre-ju-dice - means that you are PRE-JUDGING somebody based off what you heard, your personal experiences, or simply plain ignorance. The media doesn't help either. It basically gives self hating keyboard warriors the chance to make generalized statements (mostly putting down their men and women for whatever reason), and the only consequence that takes place is when Black Twitter goes on it's usual rampage with (sometimes) even more ignorant comments that make us all look stupid. All shit like this does is start arguments and division; it's like you're okay with trolling your own race. Sad thing about it is that the black community is rarely trolling, but rather expressing the deep internalized self hate they have within themselves, passing it on to the next generation as well. There's even a YouTube video with a group of little black girls who were asked to choose between the lighter and darker skin tones. Then when the little girls leaned to the lighter tones, commenters made excuses saying that it's their 'preference' but what do you think that child thinks about her own dark skin when she rather choose a tone four shades lighter over her own? This doesn't only apply to AMERICAN BLACK WOMEN, considering there are multiple different people in other countries with darker skin tones who have invested their money into purchasing bleaching products. In almost every beauty store in Jamaica, bleaching products, creams, and skin lightening soaps pile up in numbers, filling up the shelves as quickly as they disappear.
Beauty store in Nigeria - Apparently not all African women believe "black is beautiful"
Tumblr media
To tell the truth even through all this exposure, people who have their minds so strongly set on European beauty tend to be harder to open up, meaning that consciously they are programmed to be attracted to light skin over dark. Then there are many black women and men who have been bullied for so long so the hatred spewed against them becomes internalized. Dark skin has been ridiculed, demonized, and laughed at for centuries, and now we are doing it to each other, calling each other names like "roach" and "burnt." I've seen some pretty ass dark skin girls that turned to bleaching and went from having rich, melanated skin to appearing ghostly or ashy. The after effects of skin bleaching are horrible. It can lead to skin cancer, skin discoloration, and sometimes (depending on which region you live in), it can cause your skin to get even darker. In multiple countries, people view light skins as beauty and having more opportunities, light being good and dark being "bad" or evil. Several religions including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam follow similar ideologies. Black people are making a fool out of themselves every time they rub bleaching cream on their naturally melanated skin. It's disrespectful to your ancestors who got you to be able to walk in the country without being chained, beat to death in huge numbers, and be in non segregated public places. Those people who marched for your ass and you gonna spit in their face by wiping out that brown skin with harmful chemicals that can give you cancer?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You praising the people who raped your ancestors everyday when you show your preference for Caucasian features. You talk about being equal but then you divide us with this #teamlightskin #teamdarkskin bullshit. And if you think I'm being harsh or over exaggerating, tell me when did any of that matter to most black people during the civil rights movement? Rosa parks was light skin, Martin Luther King was brown skin, Malcolm X was a light skinned black man with red hair and they all contributed to try to fight for freedom, but meanwhile the only fight we got left in us is against each other! Instead of trying to build businesses we wanna talk about who lives in the better neighborhoods, whose wearing the newest sneakers, who has the most education, light skin vs. Dark skin, light skin girls are pretty and dark skin girls are ugly, light skin girls are egotistical and dark skin girls are all insecure... Dark skin men are thieves, while light skin men are more trustworthy and less feared. Even some of the ones who date black men/women still battling over skin tones instead of being down for each other. And I know there is more to building a relationship, but people need to figure out the deep rooted issues that a person has BEFORE they start dating or even worse marrying them. You can be in a interracial relationship and STILL be a closeted racist, a black man who dates black women, but has issues with the features of that same woman (I saw a YouTube video of a black guy that hated when his wife started wearing her natural hair verses the weaves. He said he liked her better in weaves and I have heard this statement many times).
Meanwhile, white people sit back and either watch us tear each other down, mind their own business, or join. This discriminating against each other needs to stop--it looks ignorant and sounds very ignorant regardless of whether or not you find it to be a joke. I’ve seen evil/ugly in every race, color, nationality, and ethnicity. I’ve seen good/beauty in all of them as well. Now while I’m not saying that the black community doesn’t have issues that need to be resolved, arguing about something as simple as skin color is petty when we can be working on ourselves, but most people rather be concerned with fending for themselves in search of success, thus putting cash and financial stability over racial issues.
Besides, what’s wrong with this?

"Pretty for a black girl"
This one here gets to me a lot because it’s supposed to be a “compliment” as to say all other black “bitches” are ugly as fuck, but you just happen to be the exception to the rule because of whatever reason. Now, even though most people haven’t hit ME personally with this backwards compliment (because I went to majority black schools), I still remember the first time someone told me this. It was a Mexican girl who approached me on the bus; she was talking to her friends, then looked to me and said, “you’re pretty for a black girl.” My reaction was flattered and only SLIGHTLY turned off considering I was younger then and didn’t put too much thought into it back then. I had low self esteem from being bullied, so I was willing to snatch up any compliment I could get and be content with it.
It took me until I got home and then some to realize that saying “you’re pretty for a black girl” is not a compliment, if you are a black woman/girl and someone tells you this, you should not be flattered (I wouldn’t blame you because I once was before I educated myself). The sad part about it is that I’ve seen people who hear this line and they shrug it off or show so much appreciation towards a person that views the majority of your race as unattractive. This included black men too, the ones who believe they are the most desired are usually the ones in denial. Why are you desired? Give me a straight up answer and then you can tell me how these same people that say only a few black girls are pretty/attractive, while others are deemed ugly because of their skin tone & features, how does that make black men exempt when they have the same features as their black sisters/aunts/mothers?
Tumblr media
So yeah, ignorant people will always exist. You know who you are. The ones that make offensive comments, those “casual racists” who make jokes about blacks and say it’s ‘just a joke’ or try to justify it by saying it’s a 'given fact that black women are the least attractive because of a survey based on the opinion of men.’
White girls don’t have to be told stupid compliments like that because they, just like many other races are the standard of beauty. People spent so long putting them on a pedestal, they didn’t have to face the racial differences that we experience as black women.
Yeah, I don’t get pissed off often, but I do when ignorant people wanna keep arguing about what they find attractive.
Learn to just say 'you’re pretty.’ All that extra is unnecessary.

Fetish for Mixed Children Part 2
What happened to black men and women embracing their blackness? Now it is seen as we are all human beings, yet many black people wanna go buck wild over police brutality, but are not even in touch with their own self esteem issues? We were taught about MLK, Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, etc. about their greatness and effect they had on history. People say there are no role models, but if you don’t give a f&%k about ANYTHING, if you stand for nothing, tell me--what exactly do you need a role model for? (BTW, this is for all the black people who don’t care about their own community and racial progression. This isn’t about blacks taking over the world, but it is about not participating in destruction, but building up our race instead).
Malcolm X and MLK taught our people to be strong in society, to be vigilant, have good self esteem, be comfortable in our skin, and stand tall so racists see we are not going to be affected by the way they view us.
So, with that being said, it disgusts me to see that some black men/women settle for white trash either for financial gains or because of insecurity. I’m not saying this is everyone’s case but almost every time I’ve seen a black man date outside of his race, black women has always faced some type of attack -- supposedly I’m supposed to cry and fall to my knees because he decided to bust a nut in a white woman and pass on his ignorant view point to his children, or some of them, simply avoid black woman period (either from consistent failed relationships, generalized viewpoint on African American woman, or the stereotypical “black mom” struggle.)
Not only are there many poverty-stricken black people who will accept anything due to low standards (I’m talking about from any race), but the ones with low self esteem will specifically lay down with a man, let him inside your coochie, just to dump his semen on you and abandon the mixed babies you’ve always sought to have. This is not every case, I’m aware of that, but the fascination is what kills me, because I can’t remember the last time (other than having to search it online), I heard someone oogling over black features, babies with natural hair, smooth brown skin, and pretty smiles. Sure, you can label it as a ‘preference’ all you want, but I can’t be the only one that thinks dating for the wrong reasons is a no-no. Also, if people say ‘God created us all equal’ or ‘we’re all equal’, then how come people lean so much further towards the white standard of beauty? There’s only one answer: we have been conditioned for years to hate ourselves, but it is your decision whether you want to be confident in your features or continue to have a twisted mentality that ‘white is better’ and black is ‘ugly or not good enough.’
The reason why SO many people are brainwashed by this way of thinking is because of ‘scientific racism’, which the the pseudoscientific belief that empirical evidence exists to support or justify racism (racial discrimination), racial inferiority, or racial superiority, according to Wikipedia.
Polygenist Christoph Meiners believed each race had a separate origin and of course, split these races up into different divisions, which he labeled “the beautiful white race” (Obviously) and “the ugly black race.” So clearly this stuff didn’t start in the millennial generation. Funny thing about this Christoph Meiners, who was supposed to be so studious and factual, based these divisions purely off of his opinions, saying that the main characteristic to look for is ugliness or beauty, and he THOUGHT the white race to be beautiful, while the blacks were nothing but animals.
But if you take a look back...
OUR PEOPLE WERE KINGS & QUEENS BEFORE WE WERE SEEN AS SLAVES & ANIMALS, “NIGGAS” & “BAD BITCHES”...
Tumblr media
Take a look at the features on these ancient Egyptian statues. Look familiar?
Tumblr media
"All the Egyptians," wrote de Volney, (french man troubled by slavery) "have a bloated face, puffed-up eyes, flat nose, thick lips – in a word, the true face of the mulatto. I was tempted to attribute it to the climate, but when I visited the Sphinx, its appearance gave me the key to the riddle. On seeing that head, typically Negro in all its features, I remembered the remarkable passage where Herodotus says:
' As for me, I judge the Colchians to be a colony of the Egyptians because, like them, they are black with woolly hair...
SO, when I think of dark skin and woolly/nappy hair texture usually worn in braided styles, white people usually aren’t the ones who pop on in my mind, or any other race of that matter. Never-mind what I think, white people with dark complexions and nappy hair DON’T EXIST, despite many “euro-scientists” who have failed to prove that white people were the first people on earth - this belief was already shut down the moment skin was brought into the equation.
Take a look at who does fit the description though...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Take a look at the hairstyles in the art ^
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A braid (also referred to as a plait) is a complex structure or pattern formed by interlacing three or more strands of flexible material such as textile yarns, wire, or hair. wikipedia.
African people such as the Himba people of Namibia have been braiding their hair for centuries. In many African tribes hairstyles are unique and used to identify each tribe. Braid patterns or hairstyles can be an indication of a person’s community, age, marital status, wealth, power, social position, and religion.[5]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Culture appropriation already existed once Caucasian women and men discovered the art of braiding from the stolen slaves owned by the French, which is where the name “French Braids” derives from. It bothers me hearing the term when braiding actually were created by Africans, thus really being “African Braids,” (of course people don’t want to give credit to the people that started it), but even until this day white people wear braids that are generally harder for their hair to hold considering the texture is looser, stringier, and edge-less. This is why blacks hair tends to hold for months, while Caucasian hair (when braided) can hardly last a week, which is why it kills me (not literally) when people always come after black girl’s hair, even though Caucasian’s hair is KNOWN to take more maintenance which includes constantly washing it to prevent molding, lice infestation, knotting, and breakage.
Common Head Lice (yes black people get lice, but not very often. The cases of black people getting head lice are much rarer than whites, due to the lice being drawn to the increase of moisture that exists in Caucasian hair.
Tumblr media
It’s also funny how many people view giving birth to mixed children as somehow “ending separation” and division, without even realizing that it actually creates division. For example, when you see post online made by certain white women about their mixed daughters/sons you get to see how disgusting and creepy the message seems. Posts like the “best of both worlds” and “get yourself a lighty”, “I JUST want biracial babies.” (Though most people aren’t aware or just don’t give af), this hurts the black women who are in families that purposely race-mixed so they wouldn’t produce children with the same features and hair texture as that black female. Then there are many black women who are just as brainwashed as the interracial couples that have this weird fetish for their children.
Tumblr media
And of course I do not stand alone in my opinion...
Tumblr media
It ain’t for me, personally.

Fetish for Mixed Children - Black People’s Obsession With Mixed Kids
“I want me a baby with blue eyes”  “She got good hair and colored eyes”
A girl plans to have a baby with her boyfriend, vice-versa and her friend says “That baby is gonna be so cute with good ass hair.” Okay, by this point I’ve had enough. So apparently the magical recipe for a cute baby is a white father/black mother, black father/white mother, and so on, so forth. Now, we all know this antebellum-like thinking carried itself out until modern days, a result of slavery practices and principles such as the house slave vs. field slave, but even further beyond that. Lighter skinned people with silky textured hair or “good hair” were always placed at a higher rank compared to the other textures and complexions. Back then, children who were the result of white men (slave masters) raping the black women (slaves), were given different opportunities, like being able to serve in the house, given a certain treatment from the whites in the houses, being out of the heat, and exempt from doing hours of grueling work on the plantation. Black people KNOW THIS shit, but what gets to me is that many don’t see or don’t care about how it still affects us today, throughout our speech and backwards way of thinking. What really disgusts me is when parents with BLACK children don’t do anything to uplift their own kids, but start kissing ass when someone in the family shows off their new mixed child they brought into the world. We know the history, yet we still don’t do enough to embrace our own blackness, African features, and even though most of us KNEW about the way racist whites and the KKK white supremacists viewed us as monkeys, ugly, the most unattractive race, we’re participating in our genocide by eliminating/watering down the negro genes from our own blood. As if having mixed babies is gonna be the solution to your case of Stockholm Syndrome, self hate, and racial neglect ...
Tumblr media
While I understand that some people fall in love with the opposite race and have kids and become one big happy family, I came to address the black folks who have specifically made it their GOAL to smash some white chick/white boy for the simple purpose of having mixed children. People wanna say it’s a new world. Do whatever the fuck you want! Meanwhile, get stirred up when someone calls them a ‘nigger’ or deprives them of a job because ‘you’re just not what we’re looking for’. You get insulted when someone discriminates against you because of your features/genetic makeup, but you’ve gone through half of your adult life wanting kids that look nothing like you, the exact opposite of those very features you secretly don’t like. What people should really be focused on, instead of trying to ‘build a child’, is the fact that a human being will be brought into the world and that person has to figure out how to be the best parent they can be. How can you instill self confidence in your child if you suffer from low-self esteem? How can you can you use terms like ‘good hair’, and expect your child not to feel superior to his/her peers because you continue to put them on a pedestal with your false beauty standards? You can think I’m crazy because I’m not stuck in this fetish for mixed kids, but I always wanted black babies, because black is beautiful.
Ya’ll can’t tell me these kids ain’t cute...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Repeat after me: children are human beings, not dogs that you breed together because you think it’s prettier than other dog breeds. #somethingsdontchange
NEWSFLASH!!!! (I know this post long asf, but this shit gets me heated because it involves other HUMAN BEINGS, a generation of kids you’re bringing in to carry on the same brainwashed views of some of our ancestors) #beingblackisprettytoo And if anyone disagrees, please tell me what isn’t cute about black and mixed babies? They’re both adorable.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH BEING BLACK? - “I’m mixed with black, African, Negro, and black.” lol
It seems like now a days people are seen as “too black” by many. Everyone wants to be every other race in the book or black mixed with something, which is the view that in order to be viewed acceptable or pretty as a black person, is if you are mixed with some other race. I checked out a video on YouTube called “WHY I LOVE MIXED GIRLS” and it seemed as if everyone in the comments was suddenly mixed with something, as if being black isn’t enough. The sad thing about the video is that there are so many beautiful black women and girls who are stuck feeling as if they are only good enough if they ‘tone down their blackness’ by being mixed with something or lighter skinned. While there is nothing wrong with embracing who you are, I could see there were people in the comments who were stretching, or would rather claim their other race, besides the black race.
Many people wanna claim EVERY other race besides black, so tell me what do we have to be ashamed of for being black people?
Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t remember the last person I heard say ‘I’m proud to be black because black is beautiful.’
The fact that so many people also don’t know the difference between race/nationality is ridiculous. People can claim to be Puerto Rican, Dominican or claim that you are “French”, etc., nations such as the ones I just mentioned are populated with multiple different races of people, just like in America. There are also many who claim their black side whenever it is convenient to them, which is equally as fucked up. No, I am not mixed race, but for the mixed people out there who seem to think they are not placed on a pedestal because their blood is condensed with another race, think again. You too have privilege, but I will not deny the struggles mixed people face on a daily basis. The big issue I do have (yes I realize I stated this already) is when a mixed person doesn’t want to claim their blackness, but has no issue embracing black culture, or playing black roles in film.
ZOE SALDANA - (first person who comes to mind for me)
Zoe Saldana Finally Admits She Was “Not Right” For Nina Simone Role Posted On : June 14, 2015 http://www.iloveoldschoolmusic.com
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then of course there are black people, that try to go against norms and claim they don’t want to be racially labeled. *cough* Raven Symone *cough. She wants to cut off her roots from Africa, claiming to be “American” and there are several other controversial things she has stated on social media and on television. Not only did she declare the ‘all lives matter’ statement (though this one gives me a headache, I will be discussing the topic later on), but on The View, she stated:
“I understand what the “Black Lives Matter” hashtag means. It came in conjunction with everything that was going on with the police in Ferguson. You have to be sensitive in that statement, but he is right, all lives matter. … I think you have to open yourself up. It should be “All lives matter.”
Even her Caucasian co-host Michelle Collins, had to something to educate her with. She said:
Why re-appropriate something that was really such a powerful thing for the Black community, something that meant so much and still means so much? It’s such a positive thing. Why make that about everybody? It’s not about everybody.
After Michelle Collins made the statement, Raven clearly responded on tel-lie-vision, that she was “tired of being labeled,” that she is “an American”, is “NOT African American”, but that she is simply an American. From there on, she continued to stir up conflict by stating that she wouldn’t hire a person with a “ghetto” name, and that everyone should be allowed to use the n--word.
To all those mixed race and black people out there, you cannot use the black race to your convenience just because you want to use the word ‘nigger’ or to play black roles. There is no such thing as one standard of beauty, there are beautiful black women all around the world.

LIE #4-6
4. Christopher Columbus Discovered America. Come on...do I really have to explain this one?
5. SLAVERY DIDN’T EXIST IN THE NORTH. “Northern states were against slavery.” Right? WRONG. In northern states, there were plenty of Newspaper advertisements displaying African Americans being sold into slavery, but the reason why slavery was more widespread in the Southern regions was because of the climate and the opportunity to produce more crops, considering the Northern cities were becoming more industrialized. It wasn’t because white people in the north were against slaves or “loved blacks.” Many white business owners living up north actually profited from the slave enterprise, welcoming the African slave trade with open arms.
Tumblr media
Even the supposedly “free” blacks residing in Northern states faced so much racial discrimination, that it kept them with low paying jobs and seen as socially inferior, while whites were still being seen as superior. #nevertrulyfree
6. BLACKS SOLD OTHER BLACKS INTO SLAVERY (Most people won’t believe this one)
One of the most unseemly manifestations of Black self-hatred is the often violently held belief that 500 years ago Africans sold other Africans into centuries of slavery. It is erroneously believed that after thousands of years of African life, Blacks all of a sudden collapsed into internecine strife and started killing each other, selling their fellow kinsmen to foreigners for profit. The fact is that Portuguese “explorers” mastered a pattern of European conquest that is 6,000 years old. They deliberately created mixed-race subgroups with the intention of using them to capture and enslave the native African populations - noirg.com

LIE #2 &3
2. ABRAHAM LINCOLN FREED THE SLAVES. Point, blank. Period. It ain’t true. Another lie that was told to so many people internationally, (including myself), yet if someone sits down and CAREFULLY analyzes Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, you would see not A SINGLE SLAVE WAS FREED!! Basically, people who were loyal to their country (America), were able to keep the slaves they owned, and at the time Lincoln didn’t have any authority over the states where he supposedly freed the enslaved black men and women. Quote from Abraham Lincoln himself, who had NO interest in biting his tongue when it came towards his racism for blacks: “As the negro is to the white man so is the crocodile to the negro and as the negro may rightfully treat the crocodile as a beast or a reptile so may the white man treat the negro as a beast or a reptile.” White Americans needed some kind of “savior” to push the message that Lincoln somehow freed America from racial wrongdoings. Most black people were tricked into believing he freed our ancestors, when he was just as racist as the southern slave owners our people still were controlled by.
3. Blacks were cursed by God.
Tumblr media
Really?...Okay
The “Curse of Ham” was the belief that God cursed the offspring of Noah’s son Ham to be black-skinned, according to the Hamitic Myth derived from the Biblical story of Noah, forming the racial belief system among Jews globally. But it doesn’t end here, unfortunately. Not only do they believe Ham was cursed because of his dark skin, but that he is the father of the BLACK RACE! This racist myth was created by Jews due to economics, not at first because of race, but when the Jewish people noticed the intelligence, skill, and strength of African people, they used it to their advantage and found it marketable -- a way that they could profit from it. This still happens today with Blacks being recruited in the music industry, sports, and entertainment. They are specifically scouted out in majority urban communities, so Jews can make profit off of their talent and skill set. Later on in my blog, I will be discussing how the relationship between Blacks and Jews in America, the entertainment industry, and how they shape American Economy today.
The ancient rabbis, enjoying the financial benefits of the slave trade, distorted the original story of Noah in order to justify the new racial focus on the “God-cursed” African—thus sanctifying the African-centered slave trade. Spread far and wide as divine prophecy by the Jewish slave merchants and their beneficiaries in the clergy, slavery would ultimately be universally believed to be the lot of the Black African. -noirg.com

LIE #1
Whites were the first people on earth. This happens to be one of the biggest LIES ever told in the world, in my opinion. Due to Mendel’s law, which asserts that white skin and recessive and black skin is dominant, which is saying that two whites cannot produce anything darker than themselves.
Recent genetic tests by researchers at the University of Chicago have proved that a major genetic alteration occurred exactly 6,600 years—exactly when Elijah Muhammad taught of the birth of the white race. The scientists say that “the selected genes, which affect skin color, hair texture and bone structure,” were drastically affected at that very moment in time. Neanderthal DNA is far more often found in Europeans and Asians than in Africans. If Neanderthals predated ALL humans, their DNA would be MOST prevalent in Africans. But not only were they first chronologically, Blacks were also the first builders of Civilization. - http://noirg.org
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don’t believe it?
White-skinned people weren’t built to survive in specific climates due to the lack of melanin in their skin, which is why whites we see today tend to be affected more by the sun and hot climates. Even cancer.com states that lighter skinned people are more likely to be affected by ultra violent rays from the sun. So, tell me how did whites build the pyramids if their skin wasn’t even able to adjust well in such hot climates. They would have to be in the sun for hours, and well...we see the result of that today:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And people wonder why there was controversy over the movie Gods of Egypt, which had been “whitewashed” due to its use of Caucasian actors and actresses which depicted kings and queens inaccurately...

But wait...there’s more
There have been plenty of racist tweets shared online, that I would be clicking the ‘post’ button forever. *eye roll* While some would question why I keep posting so much about white people if I’m about the unity of black people? The point is that so many believe that we got our freedom after the Civil Rights movement, after Martin Luther King died, and we supposedly became “free” men and women in America. But there are so many racist systems that have been placed years ago, that have affected our world today. We must get to the root of the problem before trying to move any further, so before I touch on issues with modern society, I have to give some history.

When you look up black face on Google, this is how it defines the term:  the makeup used by a nonblack performer playing a black role.
Blackface makeup was either a layer of burnt cork on a layer of coca butter or black grease paint. In the early years exaggerated red lips were painted around their mouths, like those of today's circus clowns - blackface.com
However, the entire country of Dutch seems to be in DENIAL, claiming it isn’t racist though the performer literally smears black paint all over his face, sporting hoop earrings, and a kinky-textured afro wig.
This is not about starting a race war, white vs. black. This is simply for the people who don’t believe that racism is still taking place today.

Intro
I have spent so long feeling lost as a black girl in America, being misled and deceived growing up -- believing that our only history as black people was slavery, digesting the information taught in text books without doing any further research for myself. I found myself looking at Abraham Lincoln as someone who actually “freed blacks from slavery” and conditioned in some way to think that the only thing I would ever be remembered as is the struggle my ancestors have been through hundreds of years ago. I was tricked into believing our people never had anything going for ourselves, that our history BEGAN when we were packed on ships and forced into this country. Before I began, NO, I am not here to support hatred of white people. NO, I am here to wake my people up in hopes that we can have some kind of unity again.
What does waking up mean?
1. Becoming conscious and aware of the systems that were built in order to destroy our people in the modern and ancient world.
2. Discussing topics together and embracing our culture.
3. Deciding ways that we can continue to build each other up including our communities.
4. Actually DOING something about it.
Discuss. Decide. DO.
I AM NOT A RACIST >> I have to make that clear that there will be some uncomfortable topics on this blog that need to be discussed. I go based off of facts--opinions come after. I do not hate any religion, race, sexual orientation, skin color, etc. However, while I am not interested in creating a division, I do support the uniting of my people (black people). Like the great Malcolm X stated, “We cannot think of uniting with others, until we have first united among ourselves...”
