the farmer had been sitting out on the docks in the rain. she knew she’d probably catch a cold but that didn’t stop her. though when rain droplets no longer invaded her personal space, melly looked up confusion to spot sebastion standing above her, protecting her from the harsh weather with his umbrella. though the words that fell from his parted lips caught her by even greater surprise. she knew instantly what he was speaking about.melly frowned and looked out towards the vast sea. “i just don’t want to hurt you,” melly spoke up above the rain. “i’ve still got so much baggage that i’m trying to fully unpack. i don’t want to end up dragging you down with me if i’m not strong enough. that’s why i couldn’t accept your confession, even if i really wanted too..” she muttered the last part. // @mxdhrts

“no, i’d love to!” the farmer interrupted shane with a genuine smile on her face. “it’s been awhile since i’ve sang anything though..” she confessed with a quick laugh. “there’s not a lot of time for music when you have crops to plant and animals to care for.” besides, she hadn’t had much inspiration to create music. her relationship with that form of expression was.. complicated. she loved music, she still did, but at the same time she associated it with a horrible portion of her life. she recalled the sleepless nights filled with harmful substances trying to create a ‘masterpiece’ so she could continue to make money and continue to feed her inner demons. //@mxdhrts
