Curt wants Owens forgiveness for his death and in the process, Curt is seeking forgiveness from himself for his past mistakes and arrogance

Stock - bonds of affection

Curt and Owen describe each other as 'partners' from the start, whilst in a world where it can only mean lovers. they work for different agencies and different countries, they would never be constant teammates but they could be each other's partner

The strings holding their relationship together are very delicate and dainty, very easy to break...

Whizzer is still pretending to be innocent to Marvin's schemes and manipulation to protect his own heart from heartbreak. Marvin is trying to be loyal to Whizzer by giving him a simple life of staying home and making him happy.

Marvin is constantly letting his ego get in the way of his relationships. He assumes the traditional male role in the relationship with no regard to the other person and their feelings.

I don't think either of them are very quick to say 'I love you' but they say it in other ways. Passion and desire are other ways to say love without using the dreaded eight letters.

Magenta Zinnia - lasting affection

The begonias are sprouting from the corner and serving as a warning to both of them for what’s to come. Whizzer has some sense of what’s to come, knowing he will soon die but Marvin is only just realising that Whizzer’s going to die and that he will be following him.

Pink camellia - longing for you

Marvin has been longing for Whizzer for two whole years and now he’s finally got him, reality hits them like a truck.

Petunia - resentment

Don’t get me wrong, Marvin doesn’t resent Whizzer. Marvin resents the universe in this moment. He’s finally got his lover back and life is trying to take him away again. He’s losing faith in God and he’s terrified of the future for him and Whizzer.

Forget me not - true love, memories

Whizzer is his true love. There was never anyone else for Marvin and he’ll hold their memories together very dearly until he dies.

Foreshadowing Marvin’s future and the warning that Charlotte gave him.

Showing how he has only ever loved Whizzer and only ever will. There will never be anyone else for Marvin, no matter what he tries to tell himself.

Flax - a domestic symbol

This is what Marvin wants Whizzer to be. He wants him to stay at home all day, make him dinner, be ready and love him unconditionally.

Yellow Lillies - walking on air, false and happy

In contrast, this is the real Whizzer, he loves Marvin but knows Marvin's living an illusion. Eventually, it'll all crumble down and Whizzer will fall to the ground.
