During hardships and calamities, it is natural to get swept away by the affliction of the moment. During such trials of faith, unless we are careful, Satan can inject fear and plant doubts in our hearts and minds.
Our beliefs in such vulnerable states may become overpowered by feelings of the moment resulting in the dwindling of our faith. Some of us start questioning the fairness and wisdom underlying such divine decisions while others get mired in a blame game.
All in all, we may find ourselves lost, helpless, and stalled finding it difficult to gather ourselves and move forward.

With Eid ul-Fitr around the corner, let’s not forget the needy and poor.
The main purpose of Zakat ul-Fitr is to provide those who fasted with the means of making up for their errors during the month of fasting. Zakat ul-Fitr also provides the poor with a means with which they can celebrate the festival of breaking the fast (‘Eid ul-Fitr) along with the rest of the Muslims.
Ibn Abbas reported, “The Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam made Zakat ul-Fitr compulsory so that those who fasted may be purified of their idle deeds and shameful talk (committed during Ramadhan) and so that the poor may be fed. Whoever gives it before Salah will have it accepted as Zakat, while he who gives it after the Salah has given Sadaqat.”3
Hence, the goal of Sadaqat ul-Fitr is the spiritual development of the Believers. By making them give up some of their wealth, the believers are taught the higher moral characteristics of generosity, compassion (sympathy for the unfortunate), gratitude to God and the righteousness. But, since Islam does not neglect man’s material need, part of the goal of Zakat ul-Fitr is the economic well-being of the poorer members of society.

POWERFUL REMINDER
Subhan’Allah this is such a good reminder for us all. Some people may think that something such as lieing is harmless, committing adultery is the ‘norm’ and paying interest is acceptable...but you do not know what lays in your akhira..for these sins have a severe punishment and that should not be taken lightly. Watch this video and inshAllah may you benefit from it. This life is temporary..never overlook something which could cost you a grave sin in the akhira. Do not take any chances. Always think about what you are doing, why you are doing it and if it would please Allah. If you are doing any of the above or even other things which are sinful STOP them right now. Yes...that may be hard and some things require more time but your ultimate goal is to please Allah. Jannah does not come cheap. Strive dear brothers and sisters. Strive. Strive. Strive.
May we realise the error of our ways and rectify this quickly. Ameen. May our hearts become clean, pure and renewed. Ameen. Ya Allah forgive us. Please forgive us. Ameen

Surat Al-Qaşaş (The Stories) -
Say, “Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the night continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you light? Then will you not hear?” [Verse 71]

i often thought about whose fault it was. was it mine? was it yours? but then i realized that it does not matter. it is was it is. life happens, people grow apart, and sometimes it’s just not meant to be, no matter how much in love you are. for my part, i forgive you, and i wish you all the happiness in the world.

“Sufficient is Allah as an ally, & sufficient is Allah as a helper” (4:45-51)
What impoverishes and kills the heart? It is allowing the heart to love anything as it should only love God. See the heart was created with a very particular nature and for a very particular purpose. When you fail to use any created thing for the purpose for which it was created for, it breaks. It drowns. It starves. It dies. The heart was created by and for God. The heart was created to know and love God. The heart was created to be given to God. To be filled with God. The heart that is given to or filled by any other thing, suffers the most painful impoverishment and death. - Yasmin Mogahed
But you can’t love someone you don’t know. We need to know Him. You don’t know someone you never speak to. Speak to Him. Ask of Him. And you can’t love someone you don’t remember. Remember Him. Remember Him often. Yasmin Mogahed
