Iryuu’s updated hero suit vs beta sketch~

It started off as something skin tight and useful for controlling his voice quirk better

it’s noticeable that any type of character with a voice quirk in bnha is equipped with a mask and/or device around the neck, so it was clear that Iryuu needed a mask for his hero suit

Today I want to introduce Takeshi’s family!

Takeshi is the eldest son, his little brother’s name is Takeru and he looks up to his big bro, but he’s very shy about it.

His family business is a moderately sized gardening shop that his father and grandfather run. His father’s side has a long tradition of plant-related quirks which is perfect for the job! Takeshi’s mother, on the other hand, has a weather manipulating quirk. She uses it efficiently in her work as an independent pro hero. Her appearance is what you’d call “mutant-based”. Takeshi’s father fell in love with her during highschool.

Takeshi is rather conflicted about his mother. He loves her but she tends to gather lots of attention. He is worried because she was put pretty high on the list of “Pro Heros that look like Villains”. He can’t understand how his mother could be so happy about that. His quirk clearly stems from his mother’s side, but on the contrary to her quirk, he can only control thunderstorms. His quirk is thus named “Lightning”.

First time sketching Iryuu with his classmates and friends (two other OCs of mine).

To Iryuu’s left is Tana (or Tanya), she has known Iryuu since they were kids. Her quirk is teleportation. I would like to introduce her properly sometime. She cares for Iryuu a lot.

To Iryuu’s right is Storm, he is unnamed as of yet but his classmates all call him by that nickname. His quirk is storm-related, as the name might suggest. His hero name is very painful that’s why everyone just calls him storm. Probably in the future as a proper hero as well. Poor guy, he thought so much about this name.

In the scene above, Tana teases Iryuu about his crush on a senpai. For some reason, Storm isn’t too happy about that. :)

Explanation of Iryuu’s quirk: Sensory Control

As mentioned before, his quirk was initially believed to be bending light to create illusions, just like his mother, but with enhancement of his voice to create 3D ones as well.

However, Iryuu’s quirk does not involve light whatsoever. He can manipulate what others see, hear or feel. Which is quite a troublesome quirk. Iryuu’s quirk shines the most in damage control after a crisis, as he can use it to calm civilians down and deescalate situations.

It is very tiring, however, and he himself isn’t fully aware of what he’s capable of until much later.

Character sheet I did for art fight, so it would be easier to draw him. Full body shots are more fun lately.

Outside of school and part time, Iryuu mostly wears comfy clothes at home or when with friends. Sometimes he also loves to dress up, but he gets a lot of attention so he keeps it to a minimum.

Note: I know it says here that his quirk is “light bending” but I recently changed it to “sensory control”. I will write more about that later.

A few sketches of Iryuu from my sketch book. I love to draw him when I sit outside, he is so fun to sketch.

When he speaks to his classmates, he uses his 2D Illusions, because he cannot talk normally outside his voice quirk activation.

Hi there ! Post #1 here we go.

May I introduce you to my bnha OC Iryuu Maboroshi. His name practically means “Illusions”, which is the core of his quirk!

He has been created since early 2017 and won’t escape my head all this time. I love him very much. He is also the first OC I have courage to post about, so hope the motivation stays.

Short trivia:

Age: 16 yo

Height: 158 cm (5'2.20)

Hair colour: Ash Blond (loves to dye highlights in varying colours like pink or blue!)

Eye colour: Blue

Likes: Kendo, feminine clothes, singing
