#2 Succession Muppet Casting - Big Bird as Cousin Greg My reasoning is under the cut.

Sometimes, the simple answer really is the best answer. Roman calls Greg "Big Bird" in the Season 2 finale, and you know what, the man wasn't wrong. I understand this may be controversial as Big Bird is a character from Sesame Street rather than a traditional Muppets cast member. However, Big Bird does have a brief cameo in the original Muppet movie, and every sesame street character technically is a Muppet (as in it falls under the Jim Henson patented definition of "Marionette Puppet").

I'm cutting myself off about talking about Muppet semantics. Big Bird is a pretty clear choice for Greg, being fucking humongous and having the worst posture in the world. He also kind of talks like him. I was a BIT torn between Big Bird and Snuffleupagus, but after reviewing some clips (i don't fuck around with this) Big Bird was the clear winner.

I did edit his feather shape to make it a little more mullet-y, which I think helps sell the greg effect. I'm fine why are you asking??

#1 Succession Muppet Casting - Fozzie as Tom Wambsgans

my reasoning is under the cut, including Fart Shoe Analysis

While I understand the temptation of casting Tom as Kermit, as a Certified Muppet Scholar (don't look that up, its definitely real) I challenge people to dig deeper. Fozzie perfectly embodies that sad clown status that Tom Wambsgans occupies.

When looking for Muppet castings of characters, a question I commonly ask myself is "would they wear fart shoes?" If they would, they can't be played by someone like Kermit (who is in disbelief of Fozzie's incredulous fart shoes in the 2011 classic). In my reflection, I believe Tom would wear fart shoes.

If we want to go metaphorical, Tom knows how to ruin a sincere and sad moment better than any other TV show character. I'm watching and I'm like JUST LET IT BE MOTHERFUCKER. Fozzie does the same thing with the fart shoes, a symbol of his nature of the jokester, the compulsion to add a layer of incredulity and insincerity to any connection as a defense mechanism.

Also Tom WOULD do standup even if he was bad at it, are you KIDDING?
