It's been awhile since I've posted. Found these in the vending machine at work and decided to give them a try. I love original Funyuns and I'm usually wary of new flavors but these are pretty good. They're not spicy. They've got a smoky flavor and that weird fake citrus flavor that snack food companies like to pass off as "lime" but they're not bad. I'd definitely buy them again.

I'm smoking a blunt of gas, one of my favorite strains. Listening to I'm Only Joking by Kongos on Pandora.

So...these are a thing. I heard about them. I don't usually try seasonal Oreos but...I heard about them and I thought "Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte and Oreo had a baby". I had to go to 3 different grocery stores to find them because the first two didn't even carry them.

They taste exactly like Starbucks PSL and a golden Oreo had a baby. I'd be curious to see what the creme filling would taste like on the original chocolate Oreo. I may have to experiment with that in another post. Anyhoo...they taste exactly how you'd imagine: their love child.

When I first opened the package, this overwhelmingly sweet and spicy smell hit me. (And why are most of my favorite munchies orange...?) I actually had to put them down for a minute to clear my nose. I wasn't expecting that at all but maybe that's what happens with seasonal Oreos. Again, I don't usually buy them. The extent of my adventures with Oreo flavors is Peanut Butter and they are fucking amazeballs.

There are a couple of things I wanna do with these. I wanna dunk them in a PSL. I'd like to crumble them on top of a real pumpkin pie with whipped cream.

After 3 or 4 of these, I couldn't take anymore. Too sweet. My taste buds couldn't take it anymore. It's probably gonna take me a while to try to get through this package. We'll see.

They're not bad. I'd try them again before they stop selling them. They'll probably be on sale for a couple of months. I'm guessing they'll be pretty popular and they'll extend it...maybe more like hoping. :) I could see them bringing these back next year.

Okay, I'll admit it...I'm eating another one right now.

Strain: Northern Lights

Munchies: Papa John's Bacon Cheesesticks

Bacon is the best part of the pig. Cheese is the best product of the cow. Ranch is the weed of salad dressings/dips.

Pros:

Crispy, golden edges...faintly burnt taste

A little on the greasy side but it's pizza's cousin so...

Cons:

Bacon could be more evenly distributed, especially in the center

Needs more garlic...I mean, it's pizza's cousin so...

Nacho (top), Cool Ranch (bottom left), and Fiery (bottom right) Lunch Munchies: Doritos Locos Tacos This wouldn't be a proper blog about munchies if I didn't start with the greatest fast food invention of all time: Taco Bell's Doritos Locos Tacos. An invention so great that Taco Bell added 15,000 new jobs to keep up with demand on the initial launch of the original flavor, Nacho. (abc.ws/1tnR3gQ) I don't usually hit up Taco Bell for lunch. It's often reserved for late night sessions. But after this mañana's wake & bake and having an "oh yeah, blog" moment, Taco Bell it was. I opted for Supreme because I like sour cream and it makes for a substantially more filling taco. No tomatoes though. Gross. Strain: Northern Lights Munchies: DLT Combo (one of each flavor + large drink) Nacho Pros: -My personal fav -Classic Doritos flavor -Cheese dust fingers -Well balanced flavors (seasoned beef, shredded cheese, and tangy sour cream) that don't overpower each other...evenly distributed flavor in each bite Cons: -Insufficient cheese dust on my fingers (didn't they launch with more cheese dust??) Rating: 4/5 Cool Ranch Pros: -Umm...it's a taco? -Still a good balance of flavors in each bite Cons: -My least favorite of the 3 -Mediocre...tastes more like a regular taco shell with sporadic coverage of ranch flavoring -Needs more finger dust Rating: 3/5 Fiery Pros: -Slightly spicy kick from the shell really brings out the twang of the sour cream -Just enough heat-to-cheese flavor ratio...sneaky heat but manageable -Less balanced flavor despite the same amount of filling Cons: -Suspicious absence of finger dust despite the nuclear Mars color Rating: 4/5 In fairness, I think this was only my second time trying the Cool Ranch taco and it's been awhile. It was similar to the first time though, leaving me feeling very underwhelmed. I'd be interested in knowing if that flavor sells as well as the other two. Needless to say, I'll continue my love affair with the Nacho flavor and occasionally cheat on it with Fiery. What's your favorite DLT flavor?
