Gubbins always loved tinkering, almost as much as he hated his name. Unfortunately, the usual Ork mentality was that Grots were only destined for odd jobs, janitorial work, and target practice, and Gubbins' former clan was no exception. It was so bad, he couldn't tinker with machines like he enjoyed doing, especially since the Mekboyz of this clan were especially greedy, purposely hogging any opportunity to work on anything with gears and springs and such so that none of the Gretchin could. Gubbins managed to sneak away when Sisters of Battle managed to destroy everyone else in his clan (including, by some miracle, managing to burn up any and all greenskin spores before they could reach the ground or any other fertile material). There was no love lost between him and his old clan. From there, he snuck aboard a rogue trader vessel called the Medusa before anyone could notice him.
He spent much of his time after that fixing any damage to the ship and other machinery he could find, though not out of any kindness; he simply found it more interesting to fix things, as in his opinion, "'S a lot 'arder to fix fings 'den break fings, but also more fun." He sustained himself by sneaking food and drink from the kitchens and even the crew's lunchboxes. When the crew discovered him, he was worried they were going to kill him as a stowaway, but someone -- an old janitor named Marcus -- told the crew that, while the Gretchin did indeed steal food and drink, he had also been making repairs around the ship. Apparently, the little Grot was spotted, after all, by this human janitor.
Gubbins would never have expected to be accepted into a group of "'umies", but here he was, given a new job -- a new life -- as a repairman aboard the Medusa. He even decided to take on a new name: Shuvgrub, a name meaning "build-cunning".
Here is concept art for Shuvgrub; his appearance isn't finalized (and I messed up when drawing the goggles and the glove on his left hand).

Veegriz had not slept well.
Was there some commotion outside? The city was the most chaotic one she'd ever seen, it wouldn't surprise her. Was there commotion in a nearby room? Was the bed not great? In her "just woke up" stupor, she couldn't remember.
Either way, she combed her mane of platinum-blonde hair and changed from her pajamas into a dark green dress she'd packed and headed downstairs to see what the options for breakfast were.
Upon entering the lobby, she noticed Pinocchio listening to music on a gramophone, wearing a fox mask. The goblin woman quirked an eyebrow curiously.
...Breakfast could wait; this was good music.
Vee walked over to a sofa near the gramophone and sat down, deciding that this calming music would be a good way to soothe the headache from the poor night's sleep she had just woken up from.
The hotel is silent... except for the gramophone softly playing a record, the sound of Fascination floating through the lobby and to the upper floor. As for the resident puppet, he is perched upon a chair next to the device. It appears he's wearing the Red Fox mask... something done whenever he feels a desire to hide or conceal his emotions.

So, all of my OCs have been fandomless so far (unless you count D&D). But I've got a change of pace in mind... Don't know when it'll be, only that it'll be soon...

Rules. Please read these.
Pronouns: he/him, they/them
No forced shipping, god-modding, drama... basically, don't be a jerk.
If you're going to block me for any reason, please don't softblock me or mute me, hardblock me. I'm dense and will assume that I either forgot to follow a blog I was interested in or accidentally unfollowed a blog.
There may be more rules, but this is all for now.

Lived in the castle town of the Kingdom of Wibiltis, where the nobles were corrupt and the only way he and his family could survive was thanks to help from the local street gang, the Gutter-Runners. Muggsy Silo
(Hopefully, I can draw/get some less…basic-looking drawings here in the future.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Profile and in-progress character sheet below the cut
The final creation of the late animator Lambert Silo, Muggsy is a Canvasborn – a being of ink and paint, also known as a Toon -- and formerly, an actor in the motion pictures shown in the theaters of the advanced metropolises of Terra Fantasia. ...And by "advanced", I mean it resembles New York as it appeared in the 1930's and 1940's, albeit without its worst aspects.
In the cartoons he acted for, he's witty and mischievous, yet not without a sense of justice -- basically this world's film industry's answer to Bugs Bunny. In reality, though, he's more quiet and withdrawn. One might be surprised to learn that he's not too crazy about the fame that comes with starring in cartoons. That being said, he does enjoy making people smile and laugh, and not simply because -- as a Canvasborn -- entertaining others is where he gets his sustenance from; it's one of the best ways he can think of to help people. Of course, that’s not to say he’s shaping up to be this world’s equivalent of a “Hollywood creampuff”; in the world of Terra Fantasia, you’re required to have some fighting skill or protection due to the more fearsome creatures roaming the lands, seas, and skies, from the territorial triceratops to the ravenous bullette (also known as a land shark) to roving bands of battle-hungry raiders to two-faced politicians mostly found in the big cities. Fortunately, being a Canvasborn, Muggsy has the ability to bend the rules of reality, though currently, this ability is VERY limited. Canvasborn practice their reality-bending techniques to improve over time, and Muggsy aims to do the same.
You'll notice I said he was formerly an actor; as much as he enjoyed acting and performing for others, he had always wanted to see the world. However, Muggsy had grown close with his fellow actors, seeing them as a sort of found family; he would do anything for them. Following his ambition to become an adventurer and start trotting the globe was difficult for Muggsy, but his troupe-mates encouraged him to follow his dream. Muggsy promised to keep in touch with them, wrapping them all up in a hug (stretching his arms out like rubber to do so), before hitting the road.
Muggsy likes to help people whenever he’s sure he can, though he is willing to admit, he’s not as smart as he’d like to be. He (usually) likes to learn, but unfortunately, he can be a little slow on the uptake sometimes… One other hindrance is his dreadful fear of heated arguments between those who are supposed to be friends or family, due to some trauma in his past...
(In terms of presentation, I’ll try to describe Muggsy’s movements in a way that fits the tone of the thread. In sillier and more lighthearted threads and moments, he’ll be as bouncy as you’d expect from a Toon! In more serious threads and moments, his movements lean a little more into the surreal, the strange, the ethereal. Basically, he’ll either stretch like rubber or move like an alien being, depending on the mood of the setting or moment, but hopefully, he’ll always come across as a sympathetic character.)

Note
Vee's smile lessens slightly, but their hands shake.
Perception Check: 17 (Success!)
She gives the lantern in Pinocchio's hand a curious look, especially upon noticing the glowing cricket inside, before looking up at the hotel. "So, I've been doin' a bit o' travelin'," she explains (in what sounds like a Cockney accent), "and I was hopin' to find a place to stay for the night. Would this place be a good spot to rest or do ya fink I should keep walkin'?"
Perception Check: 5 (failed)
The goblin woman chuckles, evidently not picking up on Pinocchio's confusion.
Tumblr media
"Like what ya see~?" she teases, breaking out into a wide grin.
Immediately, though, her apparently-smug grin settles into a more genuine, friendly smile. "But seriously, pleasure to meet you, Pinocchio." She offers a hand for a shake.

Immediately, though, her apparently-smug grin settles into a more genuine, friendly smile. "But seriously, pleasure to meet you, Pinocchio." She offers a hand for a shake.
(muggsyandfriends; Vee) "Well, well..." A 3'11" goblin woman in a dark green dress looks up at Pinocchio, platinum blonde hair cascading down the back of her head; her red eyes are intense, yet her tone contrasts this by sounding overall very calm, if still intrigued. "My name's Vee; and what might your name be?" (Consider this a sort of test run for one of my muses.)
Tumblr media
There is some confusion on the puppet's face as he looks down. Understandable, considering he's only ever really encountered humans, puppets and carcasses. It takes a sharp chirp from the monad lantern at his hip to snap the young man into blinking out of his stupor.
Tumblr media
"... My name is Pinocchio."
His voice is calm and even, reflective in his current mood. No more and no less information than was needed. Then again, P has never been very talkative.

Graness cocked an eyebrow. What kind of question was that?
...She shrugged, deciding it was just part of his quirky nature; he certainly seemed like someone who'd have such a nature. "Yeah, I have; around here, clowns are considered a type of bard. But magician, eh? Any specific kind?" Then she blinked, realizing something. "Oh. I should probably introduce myself, actually. My name's Graness. Half-goblin, half-aurochsfolk. What's your name?"
Tumblr media
This "new species" looked like a 4'6"-tall female goblin with neatly-combed black hair, light blue eyes, and oddly enough to some, a small pair of horns poking out of the top of her head. Her ears were slightly bigger and floppier than most goblins', and her tail was shorter and thicker, more like a cow’s than a lion’s, even flicking to one side occasionally as a cow’s would. She had a difficult-to-read look on her face at the moment -- it was hard to tell if she was bored or just calm – and she was adorned in a set of travelers’ clothes – boots, a wool skirt, a sturdy belt, a jacket, and an ample cloak with a hood (which had holes cut out of it for the ears). The clothes seemed so bulky, Nikolai might have had trouble telling how much person there was under there.
After blinking a couple of times at the jester, the cow-like goblin's lips twitched up into a small smile. "Well, hello to you, too," she greeted him, "Traveling bard? Or are you just out for a stroll, like I am?"

Has "resting crazy face"; default expression looks more manic than she actually is. It may be the eyebrows and the smaller irises, or maybe it's her tendency to smile a bit too wide for other people's liking.
Has an interesting body type: large bust, thin waist AND hips. In other words, T-shape. (Please keep any tasteless, lewd comments you may have to yourself.)
Being a warlock with a beholder for a patron, she has unusually good eyesight. Sometimes, Vee even hears her patron mentioning that it'll get even better in time...

Falizi hails from a continent to the west, across the sea; she once lived in one of the advanced metropolises along the coast (reminiscent of the more positive aspects of 30s- and 40s-era New York). It shows in her accent (also reminiscent of the New York accent).
While she has tried many styles of dance, her favorite is capoeira.

Trivia
Her mom was a goblin, her dad was an aurochsfolk (or "minotaur", as they were once known).
Nicknamed "Graness the Cowblin" due to the bovine horns and tail provided by her aurochsfolk lineage
Yes, yes, she has an impressive bust (DD cups? E cups? IDK what sizes goblins would use), but you're not likely to see her try to seduce people (certainly not on purpose). She's more likely to win them over with her cool, collected attitude.
She's a jack of all trades when it comes to metal-working and smithing, though her favorite things to work on are weapons. She considers a "good day" to be a day when she gets to work on multiple kinds of weapons. Variety is the spice of life, after all.
Whenever she's working the forge back in her hometown, she wears a lightweight (if rather unusual) outfit, consisting of an oversized T-shirt that covers her torso and is tucked into a pair of shorts. This may be a tantalizing thing for people to watch, considering her "shortstack" body type, but the few idiots that tried anything got steaming-hot metal to the face for their troubles. Graness can also shoot people an intimidating glare, which tends to keep them in line. If she wants intimacy, she'll approach someone for it, not wait for someone else to initiate.
