We're so self-important. So arrogant. Everybody's going to save something now. Save the trees, save the bees, save the whales, save the snails. And the supreme arrogance? Save the planet! Are these people kidding? Save the planet? We don't even know how to take care of ourselves; we haven't learned how to care for one another. We're gonna save the fuckin' planet? . . . And, by the way, there's nothing wrong with the planet in the first place. The planet is fine. The people are fucked! Compared with the people, the planet is doin' great. It's been here over four billion years . . . The planet isn't goin' anywhere, folks. We are! We're goin' away. Pack your shit, we're goin' away. And we won't leave much of a trace. Thank God for that. Nothing left. Maybe a little Styrofoam. The planet will be here, and we'll be gone. Another failed mutation; another closed-end biological mistake.

I'm not really a fan of books. Trust me! The only books I finished is just the seven-super-thick-fenomenal-you-know-what books. I'd rather choose to watch the movie versions instead of reading hundred to thousand pages of them. Really!! But this book is really knock me out. The book is written in a very unique and clever kinda way. Ahern tells us a really beautiful story through the series of letters, emails, and messages. At first i was a lil bit confused, because i thought, " it's just it? Letters? Emails? Messages?". But it's what makes the book unique. The story is unbeliveably upsetting when Ahern separate Rosie and Alex. Many times. I even asked my self (again, many times), when will this two become one? But finally, in the end, thankfully, they got back together. What i'm trying to say here is, take a non-book-fans advise! Read this book! It's only 443 pages (including the cover, epilogue, and acknowledgements). Hahahahahaha... 😁

...And that instant connection. If you’re lucky it happens once in a lifetime and if you’re unlucky, then you have to come to weddings and listen to people like me talking about it. And asume we’re all hopeless romantics…

Breathe, Dr. Yang. Don’t be crass. You’re skulking. Women of your generation are graceless. It’s an affront to nature. Mediocre surgeons will see you and feel themselves wilting in your shadow. Do not shrink to console them. Do not look for friends here. You won’t find them. None of these people have the capacity to understand you. They never will. If you’re lucky, one day when you’re old and shriveled like me, you will find a doctor with little regard for anything but their craft, and you will train them like I trained you. Until then, read a good book. You have greatness in you Yang, don’t disappoint. - dr. Thomas

Song For Zula
Some say love is a burning thing That it makes a fiery ring Oh but I know love as a fading thing Just as fickle as a feather in a stream See, honey, I saw love. You see, it came to me It put its face up to my face so I could see Yeah then I saw love disfigure me Into something I am not recognizing See, the cage, it called. I said, “Come on in” I will not open myself up this way again Nor lay my face to the soil, nor my teeth to the sand I will not lay like this for days now upon end You will not see me fall, nor see me struggle to stand To be acknowledge by some touch from his gnarled hands You see, the cage, it called. I said, “Come on in” I will not open myself up this way again You see, the moon is bright in that treetop night I see the shadows that we cast in the cold, clean light My feet are gold. My heart is white And we race out on the desert plains all night See, honey, I am not some broken thing I do not lay here in the dark waiting for thee No my heart is gold. My feet are light And I am racing out on the desert plains all night So some say love is a burning thing That it makes a fiery ring Oh but I know love as a caging thing Just a killer come to call from some awful dream O and all you folks, you come to see You just stand there in the glass looking at me But my heart is wild. And my bones are steam And I could kill you with my bare hands if I was free

A moment of impact has potential for change—it has ripple effects far beyond what we could predict. Sending some particles crashing together, making them closer than before while sending others spinning off into great adventures landing where you’d never thought you’d find them. You see, that’s the thing about moments like these, you can’t, no matter how hard you try, control how they’re going to affect you. You just got to let the colliding particles land where they may, and wait until the next collision.

Laugh, even when you feel too sick or too worn out or tired.  Smile, even when you’re trying not to cry and the tears are blurring your vision.  Sing, even when people stare at you and tell you your voice is crappy Trust, even when your heart begs you not to. Twirl, even when your mind makes no sense of what you see.  Frolick, even when you are made fun of. Kiss, even when others are watching. Sleep, even when you’re afraid of what the dreams might bring.  Run, even when it feels like you can’t run any more. And, always, remember, even when the memories pinch your heart. Because the pain of all your experience is what makes you the person you are now. And without your experience—-you are an empty page, a blank notebook, a missing lyric. What makes you brave is your willingness to live through your terrible life and hold your head up high the next day. So don’t live life in fear. Because you are stronger now, after all the crap has happened, than you ever were back before it started.
