You can probably guess it doesn't really like drinking olive oil, though. It's more like an ornery old grandpa than a monster, but it'll fight for you. If it feels like it.

Monster's souls in Henger rarely maintain their past memories.

Win some tournaments and you too can unlock Hengers from your discs! Hengers are one of the few references to an ancient civilization in the Monster Rancher world that was incredibly technologically advanced, but disappeared mysteriously *oooOOOEEEEEOooooo*

# 354 Monol Rank: E Type: Monol Purebreed

It will separate into pieces to cushion against enemy's attacks.

Monols have stupid high defense, but are slow, cant attack very well, have short lifespans and slowly regenerate guts. Just like real walls!

# 303 Jell Rank: E Type: Jell Purebreed

It transfigures its gelled body and attacks its enemies.

Another solid beginner Monster. Are they related to Cup Jellies? Eugh I hope not.

# 340 Plant Rank: E Type: Plant Purebreed

Though it's not powerful, it can win by attacking repetitively.

Plants can live a long time if you remember to take care of them and don't let them get beat up too much. I feel like that may be some kind of metaphor, but perhaps I'm reading too much into it.

It is a naughty monster, but it is loved by many trainers.

# 329 Ducken Rank: C Type: Ducken Purebreed

This toy-like monster is an artifact of the ancient era.

Fast n Odd, Ducken is an example of the weird hoops you have to go through to obtain a monster; randomly pulling 5 star labels from the Jelly Cups you food to your monster until you receive a Ducken doll. Then take an expedition to a specific area with the chance to randomly find a Strong Glue in a specific area. Earn another Ducken from pulling random Jelly Cup labels, finally using the glue on the second doll you receive. Dang.

# 149 Arrowhead Rank: E Type: Arrowhead Purebreed

Since it has a very hard shell, it is hardly KO'ed in battle.

Another real good beginning monster. Get that bigger barn for your crab scorpion hellbeast though.

Contrary to its scary appearance, it is earnest and shy.

Hey look at that another beginner Monster! Yes, I'm getting the more well-known and beginner monsters out of the way; luring you in before i spring the really weird Monsters on you. Gaboo. Good for power and life, but not much else. Gaboo! ***mwah***

Many ordinary people keep this monster.

What about the extraordinary people? They keep extraordinary monsters, of course! However, Tiger is generally regarded as being the best starting Monster due to its great stats. And it looks pretty cool too, I guess!

# 184 Hare Rank: E Type: Hare Purebreed

Hare is a little monster, but it can move quickly and it is brave.

Hare is another beginner Monster, found in the Marketplace in Fall. Odd how most of the 'mascot' Monsters of the series are good starting Monsters! Also, Hare farts on other Monsters as an attack. You know, like actual hares.

# 115 Zuum Rank: E Type: Zuum Purebreed

It's pedigree is considered similar to the Dino species.

Zuum are the third Monster available at the marketplace at the beginning of the game. They are considered tougher to train, but are still good for beginners. Also, they are A Dinosaur.

# 254 Suezo Rank: E Type: Suezo Purebreed

It is popular because of its human-like expressions.

Like Mocchi, Suezo is a good starting Monster and so it is available right from the beginning. He is also my personal favorite Monster from the series!
