No Drama Reigen for your No Drama needs

Even though this is small, I find it strangely important. Here you have Mob crammed with these two high school students who are acting like total asshats. They’re making fun of this little middle schooler for having a part-time job as a psychic, and it looks like they intend to spend the whole car ride scorning him.

Then you have Reigen, who won’t stand for it. He uses tact to not berate the high school students–which would have made him seem like an over-protective adult and “lame ass,” as my high school called them, to get in the middle of what they think to be playful joking, and would have only encouraged the high school students to pick on Mob more to sate their burning irritation–but it’s enough to shut them all up. He knows how high school kids work. And he knows what they were prepping to do. So he shuts them all up by talking directly to Mob, indirectly letting “his clients” know that Mob’s boss is right fucking there and that they’re being paid to go on a little “adventure” with them anyway. They’re professional, both Mob and Reigen, and he’s hinting at these high school students to act professional as well. He’s not saying, “Fuck off, stay away from my assistant,” because that wouldn’t have encouraged the high school students to stop at all. It usually has the opposite effect. But he cuts them off, and the joking is kept to a minimum the rest of the car ride.

So Reason Number 32894 as to why I think Reigen shines in this anime.
