“It was a bit surreal watching Charles pass Romain Grosjean at Rascasse during the 2019 Monaco Grand Prix – it made the hair stand up on the back of my neck, because it was a carbon copy of a fantastic move Jules had pulled on Kamui Kobayashi at the same point in 2014.”
A move into Rascasse, five years apart. In 2014, Jules Bianchi recorded his and Marussia F1′s first and only points with an epic drive from 20th position to 8th, only bumped down to 9th by a time penalty. It was an incredible feat, given that Monaco is known to be difficult to overtake, and Marussia was a backmarker team. Many were certain that Jules had a future at Ferrari and could even win a championship someday. Unfortunately, Jules would pass away the following year, succumbing to injuries from his severe accident at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix. His godson, Charles Leclerc, would follow in his footsteps to the Ferrari Driver Academy, and then go on to drive for Scuderia Ferrari in 2019.

Volkswagen ‘Half-track Fox’, 1962. A T1 converted with four axles – two of them fitted with a chain drive mechanism and two steering the vehicle using double tyres, that was created for its Austrian owner. The unique vehicle was recently restored by VWCV Classic Vehicles. The T1 was powered by a standard 1,192cc 34 PS flat 4 engine giving the Half-track Fox a top speed of 35 km/h, slightly slower than the animalfrom which it got its name
